1. it's a fantastic bit of bass playing, possibly one of my faves.
2.
do you think it's just markbass or all class D amps?
maybe it's all bassplayers called mark
3.
First Act Delgada? http://www.firstact....lgada_bass.aspx
brilliant ! well done that man. now i see the webpage, i remember looking at the site before. tidy basses !
4. saturday night quiz for you... i recognise it...sure it's a custom or somesuch
5. most of the new-to-me music i've heard over the last year or so has been heard on radio 3. "in tune" in the evening throws up some fantastic performances and the early michael nyman i listened to this week has been some of the most arresting music i've heard in years.
6. how about the wounded paw battering ram or attack goat ?

is this the version with the speaker sim switch ?
9. i played there a couple of months ago, and yes, it does feel a bit out in the wilds, but was fine. a few dodgy characters hanging around during the afternoon, but nowt that wasn't par for the course for a 'city-centre' pub on a weekend. the chap doing the sound was very nice (even coping with a drummer, 2 basses and about 6 guitarists) andf i'm told the sound was pretty good out front. also...there's a nice little italian restaurant in the parade of shops just over the road...tasty arrabiata.
10.
All intervals can be glorious. But there is something god-like about the root octave in the right place, something sacred in its subjugating of the miserly musical consciousness the turgid machinations of the cerebral curds, in favour of the Heart with its joyful halo of orgasmic and spiritually liberating abandonment
like i said, disco 2000
11. one word... "disco 2000" nuff said
12.
Ceremony - New Order
13. looks cool, but without a forearm contour, i think it's be a bit uncomfortable...
14. presumably it's so you can change the battery mid-set... alkaline for modern sounds, carbon for a more vintage vibe
15.
Yeah, she played on that.
i now have ikea hazlenut chocolate on my monitor
16. i've heard hansel is so hot right now.
17. or this guy ?
18. i agree with those who have said just tell the singer you think he's singing flat. as a corollary, if someone told me i wasn't hitting the right notes on a bass run, i'd listen and correct what i was doing. better the band bring it up than the audience.

Soliloquy

Kevin popped by this evening to by the SWR ST220 I had up for sale. great chap to deal with, we had some logisticals to sort out but Kevin kept me up to speed with his top-notch comms.
20.
It's ALL in the arrangement.
jinx !
21. just a thought - make sure you're not just comparing what you sounded like with the extra guitarist. i think working on the arrangements of the songs would yield a better sound rather than changing tones ymmv naturellement
22.
+1 This also stops you just playing the same patterns over every song.
plus the one worst thing you can do imho is to pick up your bass when you're trying to figure out a new bassline. listening is the 1st step...
23. i thought this thread was going to be about me
24. rules and guidelines folks...if you think a price is too high, you should PM the vendor. /goes back to reading paper and smoking pipe/
25. the mexican 'cowpoke' precisions had jazz necks...
