1. arrived this afternoon - a lovely westone concord (sorry for the ropey pic - it's raining, so i couldn't take anything outside) bought this from t'bay last sunday as a birthday present to myself - i was surprised i was the only bidder, even tho it's a bit tarnished. looks 100% original, even perhaps the strings which were actually green - made me feel a bit pukey playing it ! so a brand new set of status strings went on, action lowered by a mile (may need truss rod work, but i'm waiting a day or two for that) sounds lovely - very p-bass. a bit neck-heavy, but so was my old westone thunder iirc. i may need to replace the bridge, as the allen bolts are so gunky they're hard to use. be a shame tho
2. i wonder if this has anything to do with why my box of bass has been on a parcels2go van since 7.45 this morning...
3. if it were me, i'd replace the whole wiring loom, pots and all. then you know it's all ok.
4. having been required to repeat the same spiel over and over again to different groups of people through work, i can feel for him.
5.
However, given that their legal system operates on the basis of he who has the deepest pocket wins
'their' legal system ? sounds just the same as ours.
6.
I put it with an LS-2 so that i could blend in undistorted bass, and then things get a whole lot nicer and creamier.
by far the best way to use it imho. very good for guitar - it's a lovely, low-gain sound.
7.
Here's my Waterstone Tom Petersson. Series #1 /34". P
i saaaaay, ding dong...

9. another red dean here ! think i'll be upgrading the eq on mine soon as the pots are a bit dodgy, but apart from that, i love it.
10. here's my guitar set-up. a 90s reissue fender jag and mid-80s squire tele, through a modest pedalboard (tuner > joyo ultimate drive > modded turbo rat > z-cat big reverb > boss dm-3 > ehx stereo memory man /hazarai), into a marshall 30w combo.
11. sold james my warwick streamer std. lovely chap, really nice to do business with. many thanks mano !
12. with me it's depended on the band, some bands have imbibed substances at practices, some haven't. i don't drink anymore and playing sober has made me realise how sloppy i used to be after drinking. ymmv naturellement.
13.
I'm after a super-aggressive, tight high-gain metal sound...
to me, that sounds like a sound best delivered by a semiconductor rather than a valve.
14. a "pre-launch" playlist. nice to be played on a radio station that doesn't broadcast yet.
15. i've got one, and it's good for bass, but not brilliant. depends on your idea of a 'good' distorted/overdrive sound.
16. thanks jacques...god knows why wariwcks are so cheap at the mo, but Moos3h has bagged himself a bargain imho. SOLD
17.
is that price correct?????
yep
18.
No I replaced it with a Mastery bridge the original one moved
very nice. i've always had intonation problems with the mustang bridge i put on my VI. how is the mastery one ?
19. I've had this up for sale before, but before some further modding. Up for sale is my 2001 Streamer Std (the pre-Rockbass model with the Carolina body and proper Warwick neck). I've upgraded it with a Bartolini pickip, Artec 2-band eq and a coil switch as is found on the Warwick $$. Cosmetically it's not bad, some buckle rash and the odd dink (which I've coloured in with red felt tip, so you can't see them from a distance - I'll include the pen in the sale ). The neck has what I take to be some kind of 'ripple' in the grain, about mid-way up and there's also little bit of shrinkage in the three parts of the neck, so you can feel the joins neck the headstock. Apparently this isn't unheard of, and neither the 'ripple' or the shrinkage are that noticeable, I'm just mentioning them as to be clear. edit: oh yes, there's a hole on the rear of the bass where i tried moving the strap button further round, not visible with the magic pen ! This is up for collection/meet-up in London, but now I'm at home during the day, shipping may be more of an option, so PM me if you'd be interested in that. Any questions, please ask. There are some samples of the bass here
20. lovely VI - is that the stock bridge ?
21.
Used to do this all the time, you get some odd looks!
what's nice is the flat rear of the t-bird sits on top of the pedalboard on my luggage rack, so the bike bears the weight.
22. as al heeley said i'd imagine it has similar innards to the harley benton, beta alvin (?) and glx models. i've got a glx bass limiter and it does the job just fine
23. i cycled to practice with a pedalboard and an epiphone thunderbird last week. it's an interesting experience !
