1. Maybe one of those aluminium-frame back carrier things ?
2.
Also it smelled quite nice
The only reason you'd use it IMHO, had some years ago, used it once or twice then chucked it.

I've never had much luck with blend circuits....when yu say 'Split 'n Blend' which circuit do you mean ? Ta
4.
....His tone choices are for gigs, not rehearsals.
I think I'd be more forgiving - sometimes rehearsal is the only time you can get loud enough to see what you're going to sound like on the night. Unless it goes on for hours, that is...in which case nowt wrong with the guitarist turning up early.
5. Yep, equal split.... it's a band thing, baby
6.
Just out of interest, is that just for recording, or are you feeding the signal to a power amp and speaker on stage, or straight into the PA?
Into a 2x12 on stage.
7. One more vote for the Ultra-Low in and boosting some of the mids using the midrange control. Works for me on my SVP-Pro
8. My first bass was a Hohner Arbor - a P/MM version. Still going strong in the collection of a friend of mines - bastard won't sell me it back !
9.
Hope it all pans out
Very much so - I'm sure you'll surprise yourself.
10. A Yamaha, according to his website
11. I just used fuzz, nobody complained.
12. A photo would be helpful - I took my After Eight apart and I don't recall it being anything more than taking the screws out...but this was ~ 12 years ago.
13. Really nice tunes. Top work
14. JUst double-checked and what I actually play is down down-up-down down-up-down down-up-down down (repeat) Great bassline
15. Ha, well, there you go....I find it easier to play 'At home....' with a plectrum ! It's certainly easier if you can up- and down-stroke. Edit: Having just tried it, it's a lot to do with locking in with the muting of the D with the fretting hand when I play it.
16. Excellent stuff. Well done that man ! Going down very well with Mrs Pook as well Edit: Downloaded
17. Cafe Oto and Vortex are the only ones that spring to mind. I'd be interested in seeing you - let me know when you get the gigs
18. Sek-say...
19. I give up...wha ?
20. Buy a s**tload of Ebows
21.
Justification? If we had to justify all the kit we have, we'd hardly have anything. If you want it, and most of all can comfortably afford it without plunging into debt, then just do it. Why not?
I really can't argue with that
22. Another vote for a problem with the house wiring - I'd get an electrican in to have a look. In a house I used to live in there was about a similar effect when I touched the strngs on my bass. Turns out there was ~30v potential between the strings of the bass and the earth on the amp as the pedals were plugged into sockets on side of the room and the amp into the other side. Bear in mind that the casing of i-devices can float around true earth as well as (as far as I understand it) swicthed-mode PSUs have no galvanic connection to grounded earth. My wife says she can feel the PD from her ipad if she's reading and touches another earth as a tingle.
