[/quote] Short cables help, and you can wind the power cable through a ferrite choke like this to help supress noise. They're not as good as the wired-in type, but they will help somewhat.

Absolutely would have loaned him my bass for the rest if his show, if, as Geoham mentioned above, they seemed like nice chaps. Not everyone can afford back-up equpiment nor the means to move it around...imagine having to sit our your own band's set due to a technical problem...?

You could use an LS-2 and then stick a pedal you know inverts phase in one of them loops - I've used a EHX LPB-1 for this a few times.
