1. Circuit board comparisons up on Talkbass. Interested to hear Spencer's 'explanation' as to why the circuit boards are near identical too, bar a few value changes and a small section in the middle which one presumes is this 'second drive circuit'. http://www.talkbass.com/threads/pike-amplification-vulcan-od-3-leaf-audio-new-company.1190555/page-15#post-18135447
2. The word inferior has been used a few times to differentiate this from the Squier JV. Important thing to establish is how does the construction of this particular model bass differ from the Squier to make it superior?
3. Iv posted this over on the W forum, see how it goes down.
4. Is this the buckeye Infinity or Streamer? I can't believe those repair costs and the attitude. Warwick prices are what they are new and people pay them, however surely no-one is paying those prices for repair. I bet Martin will sort it, however if he doesn't out of principle I would never consider commissioning Warwick for the work.
5. Came very close to buying this bass! If it had a fifth string I would have I bet this bass looks entirely different depending on the light Crazy finish!
6. I may wait for the first batch cast offs in January....
7.
thinking about it - I think the dingwall had a flat fingerboard, and that wasn't slow, but again it is hard to compare
It would have been a custom spec if so, no Dingwall boards are flat as standard, most of the higher end ones have a compound radius, which is really nice.
8.
I'd expect a 20" radius board to be barely disinguishable from flat.
This. To be honest, I don't notice too much of a difference at all really, but certainly a 20" board will feel very similar. Far more noticeable will be the Asymmetric carve!
9. Bass sold, pending usual.
10. Darkglass Super Symmetry, couple of months old in mint condition with box and a little velcro on the bottom. Selling due to Christmas spendings and it is the most disposable pedal I have, will buy again when funds are replenished in the New Year I'm sure Price includes Special Delivery shipping in UK. Rest of World shipping extra.
11. I'll just confirm again if I may that the asking price is £1,100. Any trade offer needs to equal this value int total for me to consider it iv had a few offers of trades that have come some way under my valuation, I won't consider these Cash offers, however, are welcome
12.
Wouldn't the standard SS2 have ying yang inlays too? Guessing this is a custom.
Ha, I didn't even notice that glaringly obvious fact! There is no chance it was originally a fretless? Side fret markers in correct place for fretted?
13. Think Darkglass, but more aggressive and more distorted, its a beast of a pedal
14. I'd like to try one, particularly as you had the Darkglass and the full sized Cali and chose this over them both.
15.
Pedal is now ready to order, tempting! €426, so around £308 delivered, expensive but still a good price compared to how much Deep Impact have been selling for!
Yes, but the kind of people paying £700 for a Deep Impact will not be considering buying this. The Bass Whammy reissue was price much better, has sold well and killed off the market for the vintage ones as it sounds and works better all round. Digitech, though, are somewhat larger and the costs of getting this off the ground may well have been high. I'm still so torn on this. It needs to be a big improvement on the Deep Impact to justify the price tag.
16. Lovely bass, this. Pictures don't do it justice, my favourite part was the stunning fingerboard, lovely grain:-
17. Great to see one of these up with a good price for once! GLWTS
18. It is bloody expensive, but I can still see myself ordering one...
19.
I owned a Thumb 5 (2006) with Ebony fingerboard (fretted). It wasn't a custom shop, though.
Ebony is standard on Thumb basses, not SSII's GLWTS
20. Bump
21. Considered installing a Nordstrand Bigman pickup? Larger route than a normal MM Humbucker so may let you do away with the pickguard...as well as having a monster of a pickup
22. How does the M80 compare in size to the Vertigo? The Vertigo is an excellent case, best 'bag' I have come across. Mono also do the Bass Sleeve which, whilst a little thin on protection, will certainly be one of if not the smallest bag you will find.
