  1. I think the F# tuning is what many going for a 6 string NG would likely tune to over regular tuning to be fair! But I agree you may want to look at removing the vinyl cover (or at least checking it can be removed cleanly) as its a little niche, don't remember seeing anything like that before!
  2. Nice one for accepting the return and being upfront with the new listing, goes a long way to add a sense of trust to the community! Hopefully nothing that a decent luthier couldn't improve. I had a similar issue with a Warwick bass that got fixed up nicely.
  3. Yeah this is the 2.0 version, the first one was quite a different beast altogether. I assume the bars were added later on. Don't see many of these about!
  4. That must be quite a story, where did they go?! What was the situation with the replacement neck too?
  5. Respectfully, why is it always the sellers with the highest asking prices who make the least effort with their sales pitches?

Yeah I did that too after I posted the above. They seem to come in waves. Not that many to be seen at the moment - which is a good thing 👍

I suspect it because they're not really bothered if the bass sells or not, because they don't need the money.

I always sell at a realistic price because, if I'm selling, I need the money.

I absolutely agree that lack of info is irritating, but you can always request more pics etc., although it may or may not be forthcoming, of course. What I really don't understand is why some sellers list a bass having seemingly made no attempt to clean it up - gunk, layers of dust, and grease and crud on the fingerboard make me want to heave. Having said that, a few years ago I bought a used bass online from a well-known specialist retailer, and it arrived in a similar condition (which hadn't been apparent from the photographs on their website) smelling like it had spent its entire life in a kebab shop. I nearly sent it back.

  6. Seems like an expensive way of doing it, BD used to use and introduced me to a guy based in Coventry for repairs and ive used him ever since, but as long as they do actually reimburse! Surprised EBMM don't have authorised repair shops in the UK.
  7. Trying to keep dirty laundry private until it's resolved, or is there another reason why you're having to arrange your own repair for an under-warranty ~£3k bass?
  8. Why are Shuker getting involved?
  9. Don't believe I am, different colour but the necks on the earlier ones looked like the one on Reverb here: https://reverb.com/item/48796534-peavey-g-bass-green-sparkle Definitely carbon, I thought the later ones were carbon too but painted, not sure though! The manual also confirms carbon necks.
  10. Pretty certain this is a carbon/graphite neck, just not made by Modulus like the earlier ones? Always wanted one of these, lovely looking bass.

Do you get a link to the post that has been reported? For example, I reported a spammer post the other day, I couldn't send a report for the spammer account specifically, only the status post they'd made.

In terms of QC captures, I think there is a lot more to it than capturing a single sound. Its effectively machine learning, the QC sends all kinds of signals into the device it is capturing for several minutes and "learning" what each signal makes the device do. So, in effect it absolutely does capture amp break-up and reproduces it rather well.

Sounds like at least another month before 3.2.
  14. I think you definitely need to try and find a way of trying them both. They are really different basses, the feel very different to play and sound quite unalike, particularly the 5's. No Basschatter will be able to help you with that stuff. You can't go wrong with an SSI (think Spector, only with character ) but the Thumb is my favourite. But they're unique marmite basses, for sure.
  15. Lovely sounding bass, but the only thing I could think about is how much of a nightmare that paint job is and how hard it will be to keep clean and not gloss up 😅 Nice review though man!

So would the exercise be a way of getting some cash back but maintaining functionality you need, or are you looking for something else from the Anagram? I've snapped back to my senses somewhat and realised that the QC does everything I need and risking a switch to a lesser unit on the basis of its size and bass specificness would be a bit of a risk. I'd definitely buy the Anagram out of the two if I didn't have the QC, but i've not seen anything yet that would justify a switch. I'm more just frustrated at the lack of bass focus with the QC.
  17. Oh you can't really. I mean if you're like me, your brain will fill in the blanks on that when you can see the pickup and where you're playing, but nah all I'm talking about is the general resonant quality of the instrument. The more it resonates, the better it seems to sound unplugged, and that often translates when amplified. Visa Versa, if a bass sound and feels dead unplugged, pickups don't do much to help. YMMV!
  18. Indeed. I can't remember anyone complaining in this vein about Neural Amp Models, or Quad Cortex Captures, amp plugins etc, yet all AI based. I don't even know where the line is these days, in what is truly defined as AI.
  19. It likely did, in the same way Spotify does now, given that we're reminded continuously that they pay naff all. People more switched on realise streaming services aren't about making money, they're an EXCELLENT free marketing tool, and invaluable for grass roots music. But, like AI, that's another subject people get upset about.
  20. Last time I checked, forever appreciated Just on the topic of my little joke that I presume you didn't chuckle at, it does still open an interesting debate as to why it is OK to accept an individual deliberately copying another person's/company's work for a profit without license, but a computer doing it anonymously for free is somehow abhorrent? (presumably it is free and people aren't paying to do this, I haven't tried making a muppet me, as indeed I am already too much of one as it is)

FOMO is strong with this one, but i echo that running both wouldn't really be a great solution to get behind. Cutting down to it could be anytime option, but don't know what the used market is like for QCs. I'd want a good chunk of money spare at the end of it.
  22. Not really, where would they even scan?
  23. Sincerely hope none of the members crying IP Theft have ever bought a cheap bass copy before

With modern multifx controllers, they are very much designed to not need adjustment mid performance, scenes/presets and whatnot, so i'd imagine there's no market for that.
  25. Big nope! Unless they're EMGs
