  1. Apparently, the Modulus made early necks were a myth (rrp of a modulus neck was almost as much as the rrp of the G Bass), and they are not actually carbon necks as marketed, they have a maple core with a carbon wrap. Still cracking basses for the money of course, but really interesting marketing choice from Peavey; the manual literally says it's a Carbon Graphite neck with no mention of it being mostly wood. Crazy but there you go. Still want it!
  2. I doubt it'll be a downgrade, and they're so hard to get hold off, you'd get your investment back. Scratch the itch, itll just eat at you otherwise.
  3. Sometimes I miss my Wal MK2. Sounded incredible, looked fantastic. But it was one of the most uncomfortable basses I've ever played. Horrible neck profile, horrible pickup thumb anchoring, horrible distance between strings and body. If I was rich enough to order one, I'd change almost everything about it (though I think the 5 string version solves a lot of it), but the sound is my favourite raw bass sound by a country mile. For the price? Nah, they're just daft now, and many owners are toxic AF about protecting their value as well (the FB group was a horrid place when I left), I've heard of some actively messaging people selling Wals "cheaply" to tell them to ask for more, so as not to damage their investment. It's a very shrewd move to continue to refuse to sell the electrics separately, as without that exclusivity, I don't think the market would be there.
  4. Just bought a new wireless system from Peter, posted SD next day and arrived the day after as described, can't ask for more. Cheers.
  5. I SHOULD add that the only reason for sale is due to upgrading to the GLXD16+ system. I'm doing this not for connectivity reasons (I have never had any problems whatsoever), but because the two guitarists in my main gig both use the + version and I feel it makes sense for redundancy reasons that we're all singing from the same hymnsheet, as Shure are cheeky buggers and spare GLXD1s don't work with the + system and visa versa.
  6. The stripes....but that's just me! Bet its a lovely bass with that pre, would love to hear a straight comparison tone wise between this and an NG.
  7. For private sellers. Business sellers on eBay have to pay the fee.
  8. Shure GLXD16 System. This and its successor is easily THE best wireless system going for me. The receiver is a really solid pedal that doubles as probably the best and easiest to use tuner I've ever had on a board (the Quad Cortex tuner never gets used). The system has been gigged by me for years, always looked after but it's all picked up marks here and there over time, all cosmetic and photographed best I can. All is 100% fully functional and has never let me down, from small pub gigs to large outdoor festivals. The system comes in its original box and its power supply. I have never used the supply whilst I've had it, running it off a Cioks, however the supply works fine. Full disclosure, a bit of electrical tape may be in order just to cover up a bit of frayed wire. Few options with this one. £450 gets you the GLXD16 pedal receiver and transmitter in the box with its cable AND a second GLXD1 transmitter (sorry, no spare cable for this one) £350 gets you the GLXD16 system boxed with just the transmitter and cable it came with. £150 gets you one GLXD1 transmitter, if you don't need the rest of the system (again, no cable) Make sense? I'll include Special Delivery next day shipping with all. Prices are set on these really on these, GLXD1 transmitters tend to go around the £180 mark on eBay so the full package is the right deal here! Cheers!
  9. Given the new ones have climbed to up to £3k plus, many people are now asking £1,500 odd even for their mid 00's basses. Mad, but they are beginning to sell for that so it's getting harder to get anything closer to the £1k mark now. Sires are cool, but are a different prospect really as they are inspired by, rather than the same shape etc. I really fancied one of the Z series models, but the QC issues i've seen put me off a tad. I think the flurry of interest around this is its a Bongo shape, be that a good or bad thing, and there's nothing else readily available remotely like it.
  10. Difficult to argue, but it's just not reflective of 2025 unfortunately. Used prices are chasing new prices hard now, I doubt you'd get a nice US Bongo for much less than double the cost of the new Sterling, which is a significant jump and still makes the Sterling an attractive prospect.
  11. Significantly better tone here.
  12. I fancy it so much, but my mind is still living in a time where ripping pickups and pre out of a £900 bass is mad.
  13. Apparently these started shipping last week. Only one review so far though... Uninspiring sound, not Bongo or really Music Man. Looks fantastic though, and £899 at GuitarGuitar.

I feel similar, though it's a big Quad Cortex screen I'd want with the footswitches, rather than an expression. Anagram wouldn't cut it against my QC as is, but a bigger one could pique my interest for sure.
  15. Did you grab it? I reached out about it earlier today, Will hasn't responded yet but I've just noticed its disappeared from the website...
  16. Can attest the vintage mode has no perceptible latency. The poly mode does a little as i recall, but i never used that.
  17. Appreciate that mate, thank you.
  18. Is anyone friendly with any engineers or staff working the Garage G2 venue in Glasgow, particularly engineers/tech? Have an issue following a gig on Friday night that I'm struggling to talk to anyone about who could help.
  19. If you have them side by side, you'll notice the difference, goes beyond just tone, but in isolation? I'd be surprised if anyone could identify one over the other. OC-5 is a better choice all round.
  20. BRbrBR DENG
  21. Worse thing about the Br Br Deng memes is that he doesn't even actually go Br Br...

Every time I've preodered something I've seen this happen, definitely learned my lesson there! Could be a pattern though, as the last time it was Thomann and the Quad Cortex, I ended up cancelling and buying from Andertons instead.

Never underestimate the extent to which a cheap PSU can ruin a pedal experience.
  24. Agree with that muchly. Listened again with a good bass heavy EQ curve, the signature Ryan playing is definitely happening, perhaps not his most complex work but plenty going on, but its all low end and hardly anything mids/highs is cutting through the mix. Just no character to the tone. And yeah, song is still bad. Oddly, given how much the vocalist has declined in ability over the years, I feel like his performance is the best bit... (if you like that kind of thing). Hopefully future tracks leave a bit more space for the bass to shine without having to cut through an otherwise muddy mushy mix.
