  1. Option paralysis is a rubbish waste of time, but the idea that i'd buy something else that may be inferior just so I don't have the option to potentially sound better seems a bit silly?
  2. I guess its cost. The boss unit is really quite cheap compared to modern day pedal prices.
  3. Interested to see how the stem splitter performs!
  4. Because they wouldn't be paid to do any more reviews for the company if they expressed any
  5. I'm sure it's gotta be 99% emperor's new clothes for those who are upgrading. I'd definitely go for a V2 if I was in the market for a comp, but never if I already had a V1. The metering is nice, but also in an odd way an admission you didn't really know how to set it before? 😅
  6. Makes me chuckle a little how many Compact Bass pedals have popped up since this was announced, prices not much less than new. GAS is a terrible thing!
  7. But this does seem quite large, and can't imagine the sounds quite stock up against separate pedals, which was always the case with the previous generations of this type of multi. I guess if you use everything its better than individual pedals, but otherwise I'm still struggling to really understand why this would be an option over separate pedals or a more flexible multi. Anyway, given I'm clearly not the target market, even if I may have been 20 years ago, I'll shut up now! 😂 It's good to see Boss are catering for a demographic others aren't.
  8. Out of interest, for those who are drawn to this unit, have you ever spent any time with the likes of a Helix/GT1000/Quad Cortex etc, or does the screen UI/complexity just put you off? Personally, and I know we're talking drastically different price points, but I would find my Quad Cortex far easier to use than this, but yet ease of use seems to be a plus point for this unit?
  9. Don't frequent these parts too much now I'm a multi effects guy, but thought I'd share the current board! All mounted to a Rockboard Tres 3.1, patched through a Mod 3 module. A little jump patch lead let's me quickly switch from wireless to wired as needed. The Chunk OS is the new toy (it's PHENOMENAL!!) and is patched into a QC effects loop, where it works brilliantly. Also, because input gain of the loop can be set per scene on the QC, it effectively means the input gain of the OS is programmable, which is really useful when OS patches can be so sensitive to input dB.
  10. Exactly this. The equivalent non-Joe dart model is £399 from any UK music store at the moment, and this is heavily stripped down, so this is far from cheap. It's actually a pretty significant mark up % wise, but people are buying into it because it loosely resembles the proper one. Smart move from EB!
  11. I'm so out of touch with prices these days. Why on earth would anyone pay this kind of money for a production line bass?
  12. Hmm. It's pretty expensive compared to the standard sub models, proportionately at least!
  13. It's a bit of a looker! In a morbid kind of way. Still available, bargain to be honest, considering what it is!

    Octavius Squeezer

So I've just become a member of the rather dwindling Octavius Squeezer club! Have to say, I'm absolutely loving the sounds I'm getting so far. The UI isn't as bad as I thought, just getting my head around the signal chain at the mo. Does anyone still use it, and does anyone have any settings to share? I've got a spreadsheet going to keep track of setting changes (thanks to TB for that) but would love to try some more, will help me learn it all! OSX files would be cool too, once I've found an SD card that works!
  15. Just picked up a bit of a dream synth pedal from Darren, packaged beautifully and shipped quick, no complaints, nice one!
  16. Can't help but be disappointed that the two new products were just revamps! Find it a bit odd they bigged it up...
  17. My first Boss pedal, released 2002. Other than replacing COSM with AIRD, not a lot has changed.... I dunno, I think for those who want to go the multi fx route, there are a ton of options out there with proper interfaces and signal chain routing e.t.c., whereas this just seems so old hat, like from the days when Boss didn't really have any competition. Just seems bizarre.
  18. Seeing a multi-fx processer with that many physical knobs in 2024 is wild, the release honestly looks about 10 years out of date. They kinda already did the budget GT-1000 with the Core version, what's the market for this?
  19. Up for sale I have something a little unusual! It is a clone of a Fortin Zuul noise gate pedal, built by a small Australian builder in very low quantities. The quality of the build is exceptional, picture can't really do the dark artwork justice, and having owned a Zuul before, can confirm it nails the action. Choppy aggressive gate with a haunting silence between notes (probably inspiration for the art!). It has the all key input (side chain) so you can trigger the gate with your clean signal, and has a side chain through like the Zuul +. For anyone using high gain bass distortion and plays anything remotely djenty, this is ESSENTIAL to get the right effect. I bought this as the Quad Cortex I use doesn't have the sidechaining function and the gates are a little loose for me, which I've been battling with for a while. Of course, literally the same week I bought this pedal, Neural DSP announced that sidechaining was being introduced for the noise gates in the next update.....you can't make it up! SO yes, as much as I want to keep this pedal because of how cool it looks, in reality it just doesn't offer enough that I don't already have with the QC, so it needs to go. £95 £85 plus a few quid for shipping, depending on what service you want. The cheapest Zuul will set you back over £200, so enjoy this bargain!
  20. Is it me, or is the Classfieds slower than ever at the moment?  Noticing a LOT of stuff hanging around for ages that would have been snapped up not so long ago...

I have taken to putting stuff up on eBay as well. That's pretty dead too. Loads of watchers, no actual offers (apart from the occasional absurd lowball chancer, eg £600 for my vgc black/black/maple US Jazz)

Haven't used EBay in a while, whenever I was buying I always thought pricing was optimistic...agree with Clarky on the 'chancers' though.  Currently selling my JMJ and FB market place is a joke....full of the 'I send handler to collect these item' crowd.

I have given up for now and withdrawn the two basses I was trying to sell on both BC and eBay. Reason being I spend too much time checking in and bumping and - on eBay - answering idiots!  A kind of relief to not keep wasting time ... and I am sure the market will return to something like normality at some point

  21. I wanted this bass SO much last time it was up! Still do! I'll need to move something first though, I take it from the OP you're not in the market for trades? Cheers
  22. Mad price, sure you didn't mean for that to start with a 2?! Hopefully gets snapped up by a player and not a flipper!
  23. I think in honesty it's too bad to be AI, or at least, it's AI from multiple prompts. It just looks like copy/paste from here there and everywhere. Be good if the owner chimed in though, as it's all looking a bit ropey however you look at it.
