  1. It is, this is the lower end bolt on version of it made in the Far East. The German version must be around the £7k/£8k mark these days.
  2. The Sklar is actually a Rockbass, so forget that one. But they have a couple of those P Nuts and they look fantastic for the money, must have been around the £1600 mark when they were sold new about a decade ago.
  3. I know they'v done this a couple of times before, but a few NOS Artist Line Warwicks have shown up on Thomann again, at bonkers prices really for 2023! P Nut £888: https://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_al_p_nut_4_nb_showroom.htm Lee Sklar £979: https://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_artist_line_sklarbass_i_vsth.htm EDIT* So the Sklar is a well disguised Rockbass so isn't actually a bargain, but the P Nut is from the old Artist series circa 2012 ish, well worth the money.
  4. True, but have you every received goods from overseas that have not attracted tax/duty fees but should have, and did you immedaitely call customs and excise to pay what you think you should owe? I think we've all been guilty of this type of evasion at one time or another.

Crazy really, it wasn't that long ago that new non-knock off drive pedals would cost that much. Perhaps if it was £25 and sounded half decent, or it was a clone of a £400+ pedal, but there's just not enough incentive for me to consider over the used, reliable, value retaining real thing.

How much are they? Used Alpha Omicron must be somewhere between £110-£130 mark with almost 0% depreciation if you choose to sell again, so saving needs to be really quite decent to risk the knock off?
  7. I'd love if you presented the comparison as a blind sound sample test; stick up three recordings of the same part, one with the Wal, one with the new neck and one with the Fender neck, and set up a poll for each track to see who thinks what is what?
  8. Its rated at 500ma and you're going to want to give it at least 400ma for it to function right (youll get away with that, dimmer leds etc), but no less. The Voodoo can only manage 250ma which won't cut it I'm afraid, unless they do a current double cable and you can combine both of the 250ma outputs.
  9. Cases don't scream MEC, they look high gloss plastic. Unless the gloss is from heavy wear? Which would explain why the logos are gone. I'd wager they are the original MEC pickups if the bass makes no sound without a battery with the push-pull switch up? As there aren't many aftermarket active pickup options.
  10. HiMi As in High fidelity, but in a midi controller way. Simple but effective.
  11. What made you do these modifications, and why are you now selling after all this work? 🙂
  12. What a comedi-hen. Looks a bit clucked to me.
  13. That preamp sounds good! Seems a big step forward from the ACG, which I'm not too surprised by from my experience with that pre. Exceptionally clean and lacking in character. I'm still truly sceptical of the impact of the new neck, but I'm definitely keen to be proven wrong!
  14. Amazon winning out for me, NYXL set I use is £29 at the mo, which makes it a good deal, when Stringsdirect sells the same set for £40. Also, its worth watching Amazon strings. They walk the price down over time, before increasing it after a certainly number of sales. The last NYXL set I bought I watched it fall to £26 before buying, next day it was up to £32. Get them added to your basket and keep an eye on them.
  15. A little off topic but nice to see you on here bud!
  16. It doesn't look like it competes with the Trace Elliot and the like for size, and presume its still IEC powered, so I don't see any point unless its silly cheap, which I can't imagine it will be.
  17. There was a time when Darkglass innovated and shook the market with game changing products. Now we have releases like the B1K and this.
  18. I've been looking for a while now for an alternative string to the NYXLs as I hate paying so much for strings. But I can't find anything. There's just something about NYXL strings that I can't move away from. They are comfortably the most stable string I've used (bar extreme weather changes i've never needed to retune when taken out of the case) and their broken in sound seems to last an age, long past when XLs/Prosteels would be completely dead. They're brilliant. Haven't tried the XTs!
  19. Nice choice of pedal for the demo
  20. What is the controller capable of, that other controllers aren't? Couldn't find anything when I skim read, other than the idea of it being as "cheap" as £450 was unrealistic? What is the ballpark figure we're looking at? I presume there must be one if suggestions are dismissed? Edit* Swear when I first looked at the website there was nothing really on there, bit more clued up on what it can do now. Is it fair to say the USP is the interface and ease, as opposed to it actually bringing previously unheard of functionality to the table?
