1.
I had 4 other bathers turn up expecting me to lend them my new Active shower gel One didn't even have a sponge.
I actually lolled.
 2.
I had a bath last night as well. No issues to report ;-)
Me too. Had to top it up half way through because I ran it too cold before I got in. On the upside, the new soap I got seemed to cut through better than my old body-wash... and smelled nicer. Got some nice comments afterwards.
 3. Twas mine.... I sold her to buy my 'ray.
 4.
'Tis a great bass and although I wasn't keen at first, I've grown to love the finish; it looks awesome under stage lights, especially with the pick guard. I don't blame you missing yours....I love the sound of the SUB; buckets of punch and that great MM tone. If you're in the market for another SUB I'd rather see this go to a fellow BC'er than some chump on evilBay... offers duly considered as I need to shift these basses to make space (and readies) for some new gear?
Hey thanks... but I have eyes for only one S.U.B. 5.
Ah yeah, I get exactly what you mean It is just the flash-trickery as this one is definitely finished in the textured 'wood chip' finish, although it's a very soft texture, if you get what I mean.
Yep. I quite liked the textured finish..... I miss my SUB.
 6.
Bet it sounds muddier than Glastonbury like all the other 51's though.
Humph, I resemble that alligator.
 7.
Hey dude, thanks for the question.. no re-touching or re-finishing, its as it came from the factory. In good condition over all. If it looks funny in the pics, its probably the light from my flash
Fair doos mate. The flash is doing a great job of making it look like a polished finish instead of a textured finish.
 8.
Once I knew how to pronounce it ... I just had to have one.
Maybe just as well that I pronounce Fodera as Fedora if that's how they get ya then.
 9.
Well, as is explained on the Lākland website, it's named after Dan Lakin (pronounced 'lake-in') and Hugh MacFarland. That's why there is a macron over the first 'a' (e.g. Lākland) on the headstocks.
Fair enough clever clogs. It'll always be Lak-land to me though... ... Unless I get one and turn pedant.
 10.
It isn't a Gibson but if you were 10 feet away from the stage it would be difficult to hear or see the difference. ...unless the light unfortunately showed the rippled paint effect on the Humbrol painted headstock...
.... and that it sounded better..... oh no that's me off Neepheid's xmas list.
 11. I guess that ends the debate as to whether it is pronounced Lak-land (like I thought) or Lake-land.
 12.
The second I saw it, I melted... All I could think was Clash, Ramones, Pogues, Social Distortion, Rancid, Misfits, etc...
Well 1 out of 6 ain't bad.
 13. Hi Chuck. It's kind of hard to see in the pic, has your SUB been refinished at some point?
 14. Ended at £87 - not enough for the reserve so it's been relisted with a BIN of...... £150.00.
 15. Ach that really chaps my ass. A pox on them. If you lived nearby me I lend you a LMII for your next gig... but you're at least 500 mile down the road. I'm sure other like minded BCers won't see you stuck.
 16.
a v nice pbass copy, of which i still have the body. nice neck, the decal is indistinguishable from a real Fender so great for a fender project or the like.
I don't think there will be a single member of this forum who can't work out that this non-fender P neck came off a Pbass copy. If you were more up front about it's full origins I'm sure it will sell in a flash. As it stands it looks like you are being evasive by not answering the questions directly... and people would only question why someone would be that unhelpful. My 2p.
 17.
Captions welcome by the way.
Apologies in advance.
 18. So when are we getting to see this Shuker 51 P of yours?
 19. Surf Green is really difficult to capture (especially for camera phones etc.) and turns out different in every shot. Looking at the OP I'd say it is definitely not Sea Foam but somewhere between Surf Green and Sonic Blue. If I may, here's a couple Surf Greens I made earlier (same paint source)... the second pic is a truer representation... the third shows how the same guitars can come across more blue. 20. I don't have a specific link right now but I'm pretty sure I've seen those bridges recently. Actually it is almost identical to an old Hondo thing I have. I'm on my phone just now but when I get near a pc later I'll have a look online for you and see what turns up.
 21. It's kosher alright.
 22. I don't think you are going to have a problem finding a replacement for that bridge.
 23.
See the very beginning of my above post mate, I wasn't truely soliciting offers on it, I was merely trying to make a point. If the bass had been for sale, nobody would have known about it, it would have simply disappeared into someone's vault somewhere, as with most makes of instrument, there is a secretive "Collector's club" out there.
We're not worthy. Were not worthy.
 24.
Yeah, that had occured to me but all of the saddles would need to be earthed, which would involve some routing of the body, and there's the possibility that the finish under the existing bridge could be discoloured compared to the rest of the body. It's all do-able, of course, but I thought it might be worth exploring other options first.
Presumably the current bridge is earthed. It would take nothing more than a wire or copper band being passed beneath them all or if that seemed too intrusive you could fit a brass/chrome nut. I've done it myself. Can you post a pic of the bridge?
 25.
Wrong mate, I am NOT a bass trader, I do find rare BC Riches for my friends from time to time, but the last bass I sold for money was to Shockwave about 2 years ago, And I think he would agree, I sold it to him for a very reasonable price Also, the Spinal Tap bass is NOT for sale, otherwise it woluld be online for sale somewhere, the other Doubleneck Bich bass is for sale by Chicago Music Exchange, still for $20,000, but I have absolutely NOTHING to do with them or it. To clarify, this thread was started in the hope of sharing information and pictures, of what is a pretty famous bass, that has been missing for many years
Cool. It's good to clarify. Although if it's not for sale maybe you shouldn't be soliciting for offers on it.
