1.
Wrong mate, I am NOT a bass trader, I do find rare BC Riches for my friends from time to time, but the last bass I sold for money was to Shockwave about 2 years ago, And I think he would agree, I sold it to him for a very reasonable price Also, the Spinal Tap bass is NOT for sale, otherwise it woluld be online for sale somewhere, the other Doubleneck Bich bass is for sale by Chicago Music Exchange, still for $20,000, but I have absolutely NOTHING to do with them or it. To clarify, this thread was started in the hope of sharing information and pictures, of what is a pretty famous bass, that has been missing for many years
Cool. It's good to clarify. Although if it's not for sale maybe you shouldn't be soliciting for offers on it.
2. You could get single string bridges and position them so they line up with the existing through body holes.
3. Wow this happy discussion seems to be taking on a whole new guise. It's kind of like an aggressive FS thread now. And seeing as the OP has hinted at being a trader or a bass finder general, one can't help looking back and thinking that it started out with that intention. If this bass actually is for sale maybe it should be posted as such in the appropriate section.
4. ^ He's in a Chili's tribute and I'm in a Rage one. End of thread.
5. Chili's and Rage you say? There's a couple of MM4 Stingrays in the FS section that should sort you right out.
6. God's trousers! What a beauty.
7. Hey Wayne, how the quest for those spare caps locks going? I think we have a candidate.
8. Just back from the fireworks. Hmmm that just leaves the pots. Wire just the vol ones up and miss out the tone. Once you've eliminated them bring the tone pot back in. You should be able to find your spanner in the works that way.
9. Have you tested the pups? Wire each one up (one at a time) direct to the output jack to make sure they're firing on all cylinders.
10. Your diagram looks good to me btw.
11. Silly question: the neck pickup isn't an EMG by any chance?
12. Certainly doesn't look like a bbot....
13. Why do you want to specifically put a 3 screw Badass 3 on when a 5 screw Badass 2 is closer to what's on a C20? Come to think of it, isn't the C20's stock bridge pretty high mass anyway?
14. Very nice price for a gorgeous looking bass. Kudos.
15. I've used 2 Dr. Farts necks in the past. One was very good and the other not so good. The bad one, I bought off here so I felt was non-returnable without a lot of unwanted hassle, was roughly turned out (certainly not finished even close to the standard of the 1st one) and after I'd stripped and rectified all that, turned out had ghost note issues up the dusty end. I guess their Chinese QC isn't tops therefore what you end up with is a lottery.

17. You can also use the attachments feature which appears below your reply box (once you open one) to post pics directly from your pc. The benefit is that you don't need to host you pics elsewhere on the net. The downside I suppose is that once posted on here they are not hot linkable.... no biggy really.
18. Cool story bro. Like really. Derek Smalls is a legend. We're very lucky in the band in that we have two visionaries, David and Nigel, they're like poets, like Shelley and Byron. They're two distinct types of visionaries, it's like fire and ice, basically. I feel my role in the band is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water

20.
...Grumbling about paying £165 to SAVE your hearing is just crazy - I struggle to understand how anyone can't see how that is THE best £165 you could spend on any bit of kit.
I don't think it's until you start to realise that your hearing has been permanently affected does the finality of the situation sink in fully. It's like people who take up smoking without a thought that they are shortening their lives only to arrive at a point where those few extra years would come in handy. I have been exposed to loud music for decades and what I'm doing now is trying as best as I can to not lose any more of the frequencies that have gone awol. After all our ears are the primary tool of our trade.
21. "I got endorsed by Music Man at the same time as buying it"
22.
So do I start filing or get proper fender pups? Or a new pickguard? Thoroughly confused and fed up now....
It's very much down to yourself. But remember you might want to sell the parts on again one day. I think the main thing to do just now would be to get the bass up and running, if you like the pups then and want to keep them then obviously you then make the p/g fit the pups. Oh and an anodised p/g is every bit as easy to file as a plastic one.... should you go down that route.
23.
Heh, are you on a mission to own every type of split P pickup?
I have a sickness Matt.
