1.
Traded it for Paul's MB106HR. Stealth!!
Was secretly lusting after that - still have a Sandberg on my wish list of basses to try
 2. He sold it? I think I might have missed something...
 3. If it falls through John - I'll be interested
 4. This thread inspired me to buy a Gramma (absolute music had an ex display one - took me 5 mins to actually find what was wrong with it). I'm intrigued how its going to sound but I've got a lot of rehearsals and 3 very different gigs in the next few weeks so I'll give it a go. If nothing else I'm hoping it will enable me to dial in a fairly consistent sound on varying stages/floors and clean up a little bit of boominess. J
 5.
Beautiful bass. Absolute stunner.
I'd have to echo that - perfect 'ray. Classic colour scheme, very good transitional age, and to top it off some lovely grain Nice
 6. Maybe the link between these issues can be understood better by considering some of the rather heavy going musical theory available here: http://www.truetemperament.com Too much for my small brain though - I play my fretless by ear and dots (no lines)
 7.
And without knowing the THD at those power ratings the 450W amp could actually have more power than the 600W amp and thus more headroom. (And that's not a hypothetical 'might occasionally happen' suggestion, that's one of the common factors that makes some amps sound loud for their wattage and some sound quiet). Alex
I'd like to chime in that the RH450's 450W's sound a hell of a lot louder than my AG500's 500W's did. Goes to show you cant judge these things on the figures (unless you have ALL the figures, and Alex's brain) J
 8. Barefaced - Serious about bass or alternatively not
 9. I've think I've been lucky to own good examples of the common types of Fender... Beedsters old MIA Precision (aka Kylie) *tried* The CIJ PB70-US/ASH that I bought from Japan *bought blind* My Tony Franklin fretless *bought blind* My current CS Pino Palladino *tried* All 4 of those were/are great basses - I've also owned 2 Sadowsky Metro's. I think I can only echo the same comment though - if you can "try before you buy". If I were to have paid RRP for the Pino Palladino I would have probably set unrealistic expectations for it - and you know what they say about expectations... But as it was, bought second hand from a pro player, I utterly loved it from the 2nd unplugged note I played. For £1500 it was everything I was looking for in a P bass. The problem I found with the Sadowskys is they are a very modern take on the Fender vibe. Yes the quality is great, yes they look the part, but do they sound like an old Fender. Definately not in my opinion. Getting a CS for the cost of a Metro or less sounds like a winner to me. I'd be willing to take the risk
 10. I'd also be very interested in trying this baby out - I'm in Ipswich but willing to travel a bit to arrange a meet up (have to add that I'm a bit restricted on time due to shift work at the moment though). J
 11. I absolutely love my RH450 - its been used for plenty of rehearsals and a couple of gigs and I'm really pleased with how its performing The built in tuner is great, the presets are awesome and the footswitch makes using them even more accessible. The DI is good quality and as Peter says, even the bag is very good for carrying the whole lot about. I'm using mine with 2 GS112's at the moment as they are nice and durable and stack vertically without any issues - although I did fit some slightly taller rubber feet to the RH450 so it clears the top handle of the cab when vertically stacked. I'd love to get the RS210/RS212 combo but I have some concerns about the durability of the finish and the fact that to get 4 ohms I'd have to drag 2 medium sized cabs about instead of 2 tiny ones. A little tip for setting up the EQ centre frequencies (as you cannot easily identify which freq its targetting) is to turn up the EQ in question to the max (EG low mid), then go into shift mode and adjust the centre freq until you hear the range of freq you wanted to target, then go back and reduce the amount you are adding/cutting to a decent level. 12.
hi, do you still have the aguilar bag?
As per my previous post - I'm afraid its on hold at the moment pending payment which should arrive today or tomorrow. If that falls through I'll get back you
 13. Final bump - Aguilar carry bag is sold (pending). Still got the radial bigshot I/O sitting in its box and the set of Rotosound black Nylon Trubass strings waiting for offers.
 14.
I've just picked up Flanker's Barefaced Compact and at the moment I love it, so I'm thinking I might move on my Aguilar GS cabs. I have two rehearsals and a jam booked in this week, so I'm going to be using the Compact and will get a better idea of whether it fulflls all my needs. If that's the case then the Aguilars will definitely be up for sale, but for the time being I'm just gauging if there's any interest out there? I bought these in March from Legion and they are in great condition, the only real issue being where he velcroed a Markbass head which has caused a small amount of "fluffing" on the top of one of them. I really am in two minds as I have had some great sounds out of these babies. I hope Legion doesn't mind if for now I use his pic but I need to tidy up first! Interestingly, the only thing I haven't owned in the pic is what's in the rack head!
That compact must be seriously nice as I know you really liked the GS cabs - no problem using the photo and best of luck. Guess I better consider trying a compact eh J
 15.
More PJ love. This is my latest addition to the family and one that is not going to ever leave it: NYC Ultra Vintage PJ4: - One piece flamed swamp ash body - Vintage tint - 8.4 lbs (3.8 kg) - Maple neck and fingerboard (some nice subtle flame on it) - killer Sadowsky tone and playability.
Now I'm sure I was watching that exact PJ on ebay - fighting not to bid on it
 16.
Does the Aguilar carry bag fit the head if it's in a chocolate thunder headcase?
No mate, thats a different one - they know how to charge you for extras dont they
 17. To persuade myself not to swap my fretless towards Jsixties Ebony Stingray I thought I had better take it out and gig it again to bond some more Very messy gig, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway - and a pat on the back for Black Circles who travelled a long way to play a great set in front of nobody (except us!)
 18.
Im a bit puzzled by these headcases. Do you have to take them out when gigging or rehearsing with the band ? There doesn't seem to be any ventilation for the head. Looks awesome BTW If these are practical, I'd be after a tweed one . Bump......
The amp stays in the headcase all the time, never gets hotter than normal as there seems to be enough space around the sides etc
 19.
Rotosound Jazz bass flats - also cut for a P bass, less than an hours use. £12 I'll take these please. Let me know how much for postage. Cheers Mark.
PM'd
 20. Bump again - still sitting in my loft, I'm willing to take offers on this or save yourself a fair bit by collecting it from Ipswich (or Norwich can be arranged) J
