1.
Be careful when winding around your forearm that you're not twisting the cable(s) at the same time. That will eventually lead to premature failure. I coil mine my hand, giving each loop a small 'anti-twist' to ensure the cable coils up with without any twists. It's easier to do than to explain. For any sailors out there it's the same technique used to coil ropes. As mentioned, a cable reel is ideal for longer cables, but a bit OTT for guitar leads.
+1 on this - my job often meant using 110v extension leads all the time and coiling them up round your forearm was a sure way to destroy them. I don't do it with my guitar cables anymore either and they are staying in really good shape ever since...
2. Originally mine, I got a friend to buy it from Bass Central and then he posted it over to me. It's a lovely bass and I'm genuinely shocked at how many times it seems to have changed hands. I'd actually take it back but I don't think you want my Sandberg PM4 in trade?
3.
Not sold yet??? This should be gone by now, have a bump on me!
I was hoping the same thing, but I think people are tightening the belts a bit Maybe this will get things moving... price drop to £650!
4. Just middle-manned a deal on a very nice amp from Chris - all went a smoothly as ever, he's very pleased (I was pretty impressed when I had a go on it last night myself) Cheers Chris J
5. Bump, very little love for the Sandberg at the moment
6.
Very nice Clarky. Are you turning into Water of Tyne? Now as for Tony Franklin, the other day I got a PM from a German basschatter offering me an extremely generous price (and so a very attractive profit) for my TF but I said 'NO!'
Ditto, can't seem to let mine go either at the moment Nice Jazz Clarky!
7.
WOW! These basses are SEVERELY under-rated! Just my two cents, but this is one of the best P-style basses around! is the neck finished?
It's a seriously competent bass and if I wasn't so happy with my other 2 P type basses I'd be keeping it. The neck is finished yes, nice and smooth though, not sticky.
8.
interested in trades or part x ?
Not at this stage, I would rather sell and stick with my 2 basses that I have. If there is no interest after some time I might consider some other options.
9.
Decided to part with it in the end then?
Aye, it was always going to be a tough decision - in retrospect should never have done it really!
10. Well, what do you know - I did it again. Recently bought off BC but I'm in the excellent position of having 2 awesome basses and I'm maintaining a 1 in 1 out policy. This had a fight with Tony Franklin and Tony chucked dirt in its eyes at the last minute and kicked it in the nuts. So here it is... Lovely Sandberg PM4 in Creme Highgloss with a tort guard, Sandberg split coil P and Musicman style humbucker. Comes with the standard Schaller compatible buttons and the strap bits. Pickup cover is fitted although personally they get in way for me. Jazz profile neck is nice although again I'm happy with fatter necks anyway. Condition is excellent, I've given the fretboard a damn good clean, replaced the missing tension screw on the A string machine head, replaced the broken battery compartment and fixed the crackly pots with some DeOxit. Now in tip top state ready for me to try and get back the £700 I paid (Update: £650 and its yours). It's got a Spector gig bag to live in so collection is preferred, although if you want me to buy a hardcase I'm happy to ship it (will cost I'm afraid). A fellow basschatter Lothar said he wants this but has not got round to actually sending me the money - so if you are out there Lothar you better let me know if you are serious before someone else buys it
11. I'd have to go with number 2 (from your options that is, I don't think defecating on anyone will help!) Just seems the right thing to do. Never a nice situation to be in, but better for all that you go in a direction you enjoy instead of plod on because of a feeling of duty.
12. Oh, go on then...I'll post it again. Got a gig in London this Saturday - hopefully I'll get to use the RH450 even if I have to use someone elses cabs. Don't like to be without it anymore
13. I once used Evo-Stick impact adhesive (for the same problem) it keeps them nicely in place but is not so tough that when you want to take them out again you can do so without too much effort.
14. Interested in the case - but where is it located please? Or is postage OK anyway? EDIT: research indicates you are in Newport
15. This is the one I played that was hanging on the wall at the BassMerchant a few days ago... Very nice bass
16.
Totally bypassed this one Legion! I've two lovely DB112 cabs in choc thunder that this would go lovely with and my new TecAmp head :-) As RATM is first dibs in I'll bow to his decision but would you be willing to trade for a 4U case or you just want to sell? Regards, Graeme
Thanks for the trade offer, but having an RH450 means I dont need any rack cases, so if RATM doesnt want it then it needs to be a sale. I'll keep in touch J
17.
Thanks for quick response I'm trying to figure if it would go with tweed. How much are you after, and have you got any pictures? Cheers Ray
You've already replied on the thread Link
18.
....I haven't seen many of these for sale on Basschat. (not Tweed anyway) Any ideas of where I can get one? Cheers RATM
I've got a chocolate thunder one if you are interested?
19.
This from a guy with a CSPino and a Tony Franklin, likely two of the best basses Fender have produced for a long time
Until I find the Holy Grail they are certainly doing the job Ultimately it's a '71 for my dream bass though... Anyway... you can talk!
20. Very nice, I'm still in search of the same thing really - its just that getting to try before you buy is pretty awkward and I'm damned if I'll buy blind anymore. Don't sell it... But if you do (PM me!)
21. Here's some old sofa-porn of Kylie before I sold her *sniffle*
22. Blimey. This is one of those moments where I immediately had to consider what I would need to sell to get this. But reason has kicked in and told me that I dont like bound necks or jazz profile necks all that much - I hope I can maintain this line of defence to stop me doing anything silly to buy it. Best of luck
23. I'm completely happy with my RH450 - it's killed all interest in any other amps (which is a good thing beleive it or not!). At the gig last weekend I had one of those moments where I get to play solo at the end of a song. I was shocked by how good it sounded and it made a really lasting impression on me. My Pino Palladino strung with TI's and played with a pick just sounded beefy as hell with a presence that totally belied the size of my rig. Definetely worth trying one out Mark - as you say the cabs are might not be as great as the head though. J
24. I've still got a barely used 4 string set of Roto's for sale if you decide to try them out. J
