  11. I've had to oil fretboards which have dried out and they have benefitted from being oiled. As suggested do it in moderation.

  19. I would definitely contact Martin Herrick (Herrick Pickups) and discuss what you want. He will custom build you whatever you want and suggest ways to get the tones you want. I have his phone number - PM me if you want it.
  20. When I bought my first Jaydee it came with a single pick up. Phone call to John - very polite and helpful - and despite the waiting list he encouraged me to send it to him where he installed the second pup and the electrics. Turn around was a couple of weeks IIRC. I can't remember the charge but I know it was very reasonable.

  24. Series of checks: Neck - is it straight? Check the truss rod - does it need adjusting? No more than 1/4 turn per day. Bridge - does the action need adjusting? Strings - are these new? New strings can be too bright - especially SS. Remember a good set up can make it feel like a completely different instrument. Good luck.
