  1. I've taken a liking to butter cream recently. GLWTS
  2. Love purpleheart...comes up a treat.
  3. @Lozz196 has a few for sale currently. Take your bass round to his and buy the one you like.
  4. IIRC the laminated neck on my Silk bass contains Oak.
  5. PM @KiOgon
  6. Get a semi acoustic - it will have some use. IME bass acoustics are a waste of time and money.
  7. Squier VM fretless are about the same money used (£200?)
  8. State of independence - Donna Summer
  9. Stored in a garage? Doesn't inspire confidence.
  10. IIRC this isn't the Affinity model. I don't think I've ever owned one. I remember being pleasantly surprised by the quality of this. I don't remember any issues with how this played...in fact it came with a nice low action. I would have this back if I didn't have too many basses already.
  11. We've only had chrome for a decade??? My memory isn't that bad...
  12. Space cowboy - jamiriquai
  13. I saw a documentary with David Bowie doing that.
  14. Apollo 9 - Adam Ant
  15. 😱😱
  16. Time (clock of the heart) - Culture Club
  17. After my recent 51 "build" I was considering another, somewhat more complicated and challenging build. Your comments about only getting one chance of getting it right gave me a reality check...leave it to those who have the tools and the ability.
  18. I had one for a while. Far too cumbersome to be used regularly. I don't know why they're called "Stingray killers" - I didn't see them as directly comparable.
  19. I was thinking about doing something similar with a Envelope Filter. Far too complicated for a numpty like me who struggled wiring a set of pickups, but I did think about it.
  20. That looks like a regurgitated pizza at 2am on a Saturday morning. However much it costs it's too much.
  21. Automaton - Jamiriquai
  22. If you're wanting to go vintage then Nickel is the way to go - I think we've only had Chrome for just over a century. Finding said nickel parts on the other hand is a different matter. Chrome parts are everywhere...not so with nickel, gold, brass, etc. Why not buy a cheap set of hardware and leave it in a bucket in the garden for a few months.
  23. I was listening to "You can call me Al" earlier when I realised that even though I know every word I don't have a clue what the song is about. I also remember my brother, who was a huge The Jam fan, suddenly realising what "The man in the corner shop" was about. I expect I'm not alone in this. What songs do you know nothing about? E.g. whiter shade of pale.
  24. It was a while back....
  25. If you're looking at lightweight cabs then Vanderkley should definitely be on your list. Superb tonal qualities and great build quality. There are a couple (maybe three) available in the market place. If you're lucky enough to find one used there is also a combo available as well as a stand alone Class D head.
