  1. You guys are scaring me... I prefer a light string - the gauges you are talking about would have me running for shelter.
  2. Cheaper still - I just gave my natural finish basses a coat of Lemon Oil - brought the grain right out. They look like different instruments. Changing strings can also bring life back to tired sounding basses especially if you go from, say, roundwounds to tapes or flats - whole new tonal palette to play with. The best surprise of all - playing that near forgotten about bass that you don't normally pick up - even if it is only for the one practice - can change the way you feel about your instruments and your playing.
  3. Welcome Khaled What are you wanting to learn? There are many online resources - Talkingbass, Scott's Bass Lessons are two of the most popular - both cover the easy, beginners stuff, all the way up to advance. Try the free lessons first to see where you are before paying for the more advanced stuff.
  4. Strollin' on - Maxi Priest
  5. Strawberry Fields - The Beatles
  6. The price range of Spectors, understandably, varies depending on the model. Top of the range are £3k+, entry models change hands for anything between £100-250. The through neck/ set neck versions are more desirable. The NS2000 is very desirable and under-rated IMO - I had two which I should never have sold during one of my down sizing periods - I don't know why I bother, I just spend the money from the sales on more gear. Think £300-500 depending on condition.
  7. You need to change the title of this thread to "as you'll never want to hear it again". That's horrible!!
  8. Maybe this is it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185867080681?hash=item2b468a93e9:g:elMAAOSw6SdkRRTA&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4GHpsn9IOddy9e%2FsivBSqPeihXH3rTv%2FWNPBD3pZK%2F9yrYYyVLRU8H8Kypd%2FcvsSkn25h74k9eQepjiJjarqaNEm2cw6aCuj7tr2asrFqmmAeS8b2eohWZU%2BeYbC71r0hls5sEJM08K6OdsoBpeeXyRVPIWD4BeAo6Lf%2Fqwgp2jB6Thx0pDSffhRb2Djd%2FKkeRWuY1vvMpw3einbwUAxDP9HIbl6T7xsBEi5JRAain2pIf7aYF3gmU7ab08ALQKKTtAjgj4R5CD%2BsuKxmGuhDRcta3Je8W1UTuKvXNjXwIwW|tkp%3ABk9SR_SMkPv1YQ

  10. ...and this solved the problem with the zip on my gigbag..
  11. Interesting thread. I have a similar issue with a gigbag where the zips don't work - I'm sure a simple fix for somebody who knows what they're doing. Maybe a quick visit to YT will yield answers.
  12. Photos with it wearing the white scratchplate?
  13. My first serious amp was the 100w version of this. As you say, heavy beastie, I would dread having to move one of these now. That said, fine, fine bits of kit - would be brilliant for somebody after that distinctive vintage rock tone. GLWTS
  14. I think you forgot your brain and experience...I have neither of these.
  15. What can be done with a gig bag with a broken zip??

I have a nice case in otherwise good condition with a zip that doesn't work - reluctant to throw it away if it can be rescued or repaired.

    Anybody??

Sometimes alterations shops can repair or replace these types of zips...worth a try?

Saved with a pair of pliers....

  16. I used to own the redburst one that many on this site have owned. Really nice bass with lots of potential - I didn't like the neck profile so sold it to a friend who took it to Scotland where he sold it locally. Could be anywhere now. I really don't understand why they don't hold their value either...

  18. Pinball Wizard - Elton John
  19. Talk Talk - Talk Talk
  20. Roller way the stones - Mott the Hoople.
  21. I was going to bid but didn't want to show my hand. Somebody got a bargain.
  22. Sold for £85....
  23. I think that if this was in the UK this would have sold already. Blame B***it.
  24. A thing of beauty. Hope you don't regret selling.
