1. He bi-amps through a bass rig and a guitar rig. I assume he splits the signal at a certain frequency so that the lower frequencies are processed by the bass rig and the higher ones by the guitar rig and then blends it back together to create his incredible tone! Truckstop
2. D'oh
3. How about Capri Orange with a Tan headstock? Truckstop
4. God, what a complete f***ing disaster.
5. So Orange finally got back to me saying that any matching 16ohm 300w 10" drivers will do the trick. Unhelpful but I think I've already decided to go with a Eminence Deltas anyway. Will order them and see what happens Truckstop
6. I think that everything's been over-valued for years. Especially the second hand market. Truckstop
7. Tremendous! Truckstop
8. 5ers are great for players that work in a lot of bands or work with lots of different groups of musicians. Transposition's easier, playing complicated pieces can be made easier by playing across the neck rather than up and down it and sometimes having that low D can add oodles of balls to riffs! Plus one on Big Reds post. Buy quality! Minimum spend should be £500 even second hand. Yamaha TRB1005 or even the standard TRB5 would be a great buy. The Ibanez Prestige range are also outstanding instruments for the money. I never got on with Fender or Musicman 5's. B always seems like an afterthought. Good luck! Truckstop
9. Whereabouts are you based? Postage options? Cheers Alex
10. Will be there with bells on! Probably won't bring anything with me though; I'll just be there for a tea and a chat! Alex
11. Terrific job! Stylish, classy, vintage; a great look! Hate it when people put up photos of their great work; makes everything I attempt look really ordinary and plain! Truckstop
12. I searched for ages and couldn't find anything useful. PJB and TecAmp do/did a 500w class D power amp in a sort of MB200 style enclosure which would have suited but unfortunately prohibitively expensive and extremely rare. All others I found were built to fit in a rack case. Impractical for my needs and I'm guessing impractical for you also? I think manufacturers are missing a trick here. If you can get a 1000w into a bass amp not much larger than a cigar case, why isnt the market flooded with tiny power amps? I'd buy one! It'd beat dragging around my 35kg C-Mark doodad. I have a tiny mixer, why not a tiny power amp aswell? Truckstop
13. Sort of. When it comes to dirt, yeah. I think it's a case of go hard or go home. If you want a touch of grit; buy a valve amp and crank it. Don't buy a pedal and only use 5% of its potential! Truckstop

GAK

Also a fan of GAK's twitter presence; fun, informative and GAS inducing! I'll also add that all my dealings with GAK over the last 10 years or so have been problem free and generally of a very high standard. Truckstop
15. Maybe look at short scale violin style basses? Truckstop
16. Terry's set-ups are also well worth the money. Truckstop
17.
doom-death-grime-core-step-hop
Let's do it! Truckstop
18. I had a PF-500 (Lozz's first one) and used it for a year 2 or 3 nights a week at gig levels and never let me down. Even survived being dropped into a concrete floor from waist height! Such a shame they're so poorly regarded in the reliability stakes; great sounding heads, good weight, they look sexy and they're well constructed (if poorly designed!). It would be interesting to see exactly how many have failed. Truckstop
19.
I arrange the set lists by choosing the first 4 and the last 4 songs of each set first, then fill the gaps.
Plus one Truckstop
20. Original speakers definitely not neo; I think Orange changed to ceramic magnets for the last couple of runs before discontinuing the SP210. Weight's not really an issue. Because it's such a small box, it's easy to carry and manoeuvre regardless of weight. I did look at the Deltalites but didn't agree with the extra £40 each!! I've shot off an email to Orange; let's see what happens! Cheers Alex
21. Ha ha I literally just googled 'drivers orange sp210' And a few forums said Deltas. I didn't read the full threads; maybe they are recommended as a good replacement? Would Orange charge a premium for them? Concerned that they'd just say no because it's a trade secret or something! I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask, I'll fire off an email now. Cheers Alex
22. Bought an Orange SP210 off Tyler; very fast, very organised and eager to please. Cheers! Alex
23. Not too bothered about retaining its original character. Just need a small working cab! Cheers Alex
24. Hello all, Bought TJ's broken SP210 of him and I want to change the drivers. One's broken and I don't really like the idea of possibly mismatching them so I'm going to buy two new ones to install in it and then keep the original for a future project. So, any ideas anyone? Haven't got a massive budget but still want some semblance of quality! I don't need anything like the 600w the cab is rated; 400-500 will be plenty. Need the cab to be 8ohm so I need 16ohm drivers. The originals are unbranded but t'internet says Eminence Deltas. Cheers! Alex
25. I will have the cab! PM'd Alex
