  1. They do say there's no smoke without fire, but I hadn't realised this would be such a draw.
  2. Might be worth asking the organisers if they have a list of shops?
  3. They weren't terribly consistent about these things, IIUC... but agreed, if it's active it shouldn't be a 301.
  4. Am I the only person who looked at that and read it as "Composting Himself"?
  5. Yup, I was the guilty party.
  6. If I didn't have too many basses already, that would be on the list.
  7. Might just save the image, see who buys it and tries to flip it.
  8. themanwhocan... shouldn't.
  9. If it was fretless... GLWYS! (Also, where are you based?)
  10. Philip Glass, Dracula.
  11. This Enigma is very similar to the fiver I was offered way back when: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Enigma-Through-Neck-Bass-Guitar-with-Stagg-Hard-Case-in-red-and-natural-wood/323508702563?hash=item4b529f0d63:g:Tp8AAOSw0NlbosVG
  12. I see the bog oak advert includes the text "notoriously hard to work with these knobs". Indeed.
  13. :purses lips:
  14. I have a Vox Standard I will never sell. They do make a great noise I do need to find a fretless neck for it. Preferably something slightly slimmer than a California redwood... Both my P-P basses are bitsas - a pink Westfield and a not-Fender by BCer hamfist (which he is not).
  15. What is this "housework" thing you mention? Asking for a friend.
  16. It'll fit something a couple of inches smaller (an SR300, maybe). It's not expensive as hardcases go. He's pushed his luck on what fits, but it will go.
  17. (... or so it claims, I have no idea.) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Early-Hugh-Manson-Merlin-Bass-Guitar-1984/382591916682?hash=item5914415a8a:g:FREAAOSwe2ZbsQtG
  18. Tempting... I want a fretless/defretted Tbird
  19. Not me; I sold mine a couple of years ago.
  20. Went for £100.
  21. Not sold.
  22. I knew someone called Tone once. Indolent SOB, if he'd been a machine you could never have got it running.
  23. I'm glad it turned out to be interesting
