  1. Definitely, we were very fortunate having such good music shows on the box. I’d probably be far more knowledgeable about modern music & artists if similar were still on.
  2. I agree with @Steve Browning, Rhythm Stick at 90% is a definite achievement, as well as getting Hysteria spot on too.
  3. Great rehearsal with the classic rock band last night, as we had a mate of a mate turn up to sing, and unlike when we’ve tried this before, he could sing. Sure some were a bit out of his range but he was pretty good on Dio, Plant, Coverdale to name a few, which is no mean feat. Given it was his first time singing with us, and this material it went great.
  4. Instead of practicing and concentrating maybe let yourself go and play and immerse yourself just in that, a try to stop thinking and just do sort of thing.
  5. So an update on my Superlight TT. Since I’ve had it it’s suffered with the quiet A string/loud E string thing, and no matter how I’ve adjusted the pickups this has stayed the same. But at band practice last night I noticed that on each pickup the pole pieces are slightly raised under the E, A, D strings. So this morning I’ve simply swapped them round so that the only unraised pole piece is now under the E. Made a world of difference. So to anyone experiencing the same check it out.
  6. Beautiful dark rosewood board on that
  7. I reckon my thoughts are the same.
  8. I saw Florence Black support Tremonti back in Feb/March. Did have tickets for their recent London gig but reading the above about volume fairly glad I didn’t go in the end.
  9. I don`t. Although I`ve written a good many songs, most of which are on CDs/Vinyl/Streaming etc I see myself more as a musician/bassist than songwriter/artist. This possibly comes from never really being the primary songwriter in the bands I`ve been in.
  10. There`s def a certain type of logic there, DD
  11. Makes sense Dave, no matter what bass I play I sound like me. I`ve been more than happy with the amount of low-end from my all-Paulownia Superlight TT, I did think I might have to use the actives to add in more lows/depth but have found I prefer it in passive mode. Only just over a year til I get my Superlight Lionel...................
  12. Definitely, to combat this we used to have so much merch - probably 8/10 different tees, some same style but range of colours too - it took longer to carry in the merch than it did full backline!
  13. That`s a good point Daryl, a good example could be the difference here in the UK between the south & the north. In my old band we could play to similar sized audiences and in the south it would be "too cool for school" whereas up north they`d be jumping around and cheering. Yet at the end of the night the amount of merch we`d sell would be the same, so the south liked us just as much, but didn`t show it. For me it was much more fun to play the northern gigs so I could say the northern crowd were better, yet each - going by sales - liked us pretty much the same.
  14. It would indeed, agree, great little pub.
  15. I’m liking this set a lot
  16. Not received 4 million different but the same answers and got the bass on its way back to the manufacturer on day one perhaps 😂
  17. Agree. Although I`m a Fender fan-boi through & through to me I`d say at most three ranges, US, Mex for those unable to afford a US model or wanting a cheaper backup, and signature models.
  18. And not on her regular job, what a traitor!
  19. Yup, my 2015 black/maple American Standard Precision is the same
  20. This happened in a pub in Hemel that my old punk covers band used to play, back around 2010. They used to pay £300 for bands, and pretty much have capacity (120 people) every band night. But once the pub changed hands the new "business minded" owners/managers thought £300 was too much so paid £120 to single performers with backing tracks/duos with acoustic guitars. Who played to about 16 people. Thankfully the pub is now owned/run by a guy who used to be a singer in a band, and he has bands on most nights, pays well, has really put some work into the stage area, and as such punters are back.
  21. Nail on the head methinks
  22. I play when I feel like it, some weeks that might be every day, others may only be once or twice. Only differences to that are if I have a gig, where I`ll go through the set a couple of times in the week of the gig, or if learning a song. I do try to play at least once a week though, I find it very therapeutic just playing along to songs on YouTube.
  23. I’ll echo the sentiments of most on this thread, good luck with whatever you end up doing but hopefully still make appearances on here, wouldn’t be the same without you.
  24. Anything with dynamic pricing can go and brew itself a cup of fukkoff
