  1. Like many good music scenes, burned brightly but briefly.
  2. I had Boss TU tuners for years, but when putting together a pedalboard went for the Polytune for the smaller size. I prefer the display too, and it seems to be more instant/accurate.
  3. This is something I’m going through at present, I have a 5-string Precision but only play a low D in 2 songs so have an Extender on my 4-string Precision. That said I may well start using the 5-er in the band though the low B is a tad floppy, might have to get a heavier gauge.
  4. Pretty decent article
  5. Was never a big fan, and to be honest although I loved Teen Spirit when it came out it got overplayed for me. But I watched the prog about them and with the shows/attitude etc I agree with @Bassybert, punk through & through. They could have been really polished, as per the record but live seemed to keep to their true selves.
  6. Well it was only through my phone, I’ll check it out on pc with proper speakers
  7. Again the usual interesting assortment of tinny, scratchy, driven, fret-buzzing bass-lines that end up sounding so good in the mix. I don’t think I’ll ever be not amazed by this.
  8. Interesting, I think solo’d I prefer the Sire but not sure how good in the mix it would be. Also interesting is that didn’t notice much difference between the Squier & the Fender.
  9. Good colour co-ordination
  10. Fender Deluxe/Elite Precision, J pickup def useable especially on active mode. I find I can get a good Cranberries/Zombie sound from it.
  11. A 410 v 115 from the same range should def be louder. Having had the 4ohm 410 and the 8ohm 210 from the RM range the 410 was def louder. I put this down to double the number of speakers as much as the impedance, as there was just a much bigger sound with it.
  12. Both JJ Burnell & Bruce Foxton played black/black/maple Precisions. Nothing out of the ordinary so no need for pics but they made a big impression on me.
  13. I think I’m a FONBLE sufferer too
  14. Great review on the SH1 Dan, what are your impressions of the Rotosound Ultra Mags, they sound great on the clip.
  15. Agree, the regular Player Series are great basses and priced at the right point.
  16. They’re sealed, nice little cabs, I’ve got two 210s tho yet to use them with band.
  17. Def pick, but that’s prob cos I’m a pick player
  18. Ashdown ABM PRO NEO range fits the bill nicely.
  19. I think I prefer the B7k, the VU seems to sit in with the guitars better making one big sound but the B7k seems to sit slightly underneath allowing the sound of both the bass and guitars to be heard. Horses for courses though.
  20. He’s one of the Mods on here, might be worth messaging him for some assistance: @gary mac Make sure you put the space in as there is a garymac as well.
  21. How far is Hoddesden from Cambridge @MrWriter, as our very own Gary Mac is there and he does great work. Anything I can’t do myself I take to Gary and he always sorts it for me.
  22. Your guitarist has a great sound there Paul
  23. Agree, as has been said it seems it’s the imperfections that make these parts sit so well in the tracks.
  24. The eye contact thing does work but it can backfire, as many people have come up to me and mentioned that I looked like I was going to jump into the audience and kill them. I wasn’t, I was just looking to see if the audience were enjoying the bands set, so I make sure I now smile a bit more on stage. Better to look simple than like an axe murderer.
  25. I think I’m so used to the 62s that anything other just sounds wrong to my ears. The Fralins are more even across the tonal spectrum, and sound more detailed to me.
