Better in tone, lighter, more frets & strings, lower action & more comfortable to play, all excellent reasons to make the choice you did.

The last year I played Rebellion (2019) a lot of people videod the gig so our singer contacted them, asked their permission to use the vids, then pieced the whole performance together with the best footage from each.

Well I don’t think anyone (Putin aside) will begrudge Ukraine their win. And GB coming second!

I’d go for the Jazz, many a good Jazz bass in those music styles.

Exactly the same (well may be very slightly different) I do all my set ups to the same measurements.

I’m pretty sure we played on the same bill as them a few times, sure I recognise a few of them.

Unless you’re playing some very large stages Ashdowns RM amps are good in comparison to the ABMs. In regular pub sized venues I don’t really hear much difference between my ABM600 & RM500, however on a large venue stage the ABM has a greater depth to it. Still wouldn’t (and hasn’t) stop me using the RM on big stages though, def worth checking out imo.

I can’t comment on all instruments, only my own. I have 3 US Precisions with maple fretboards and 2 US Precisions with rosewood fretboards, all the same series, with same pickups, same strings (of the same age & gauge) and all set up the same. The rosewood ones sound deeper, the maple ones more twangy. It was especially evident in band practice. Whether that’s the same with all of them I can’t say, only in relation to my 5. And as I’m getting another rosewood one next week I’ll find out if it’s 6 of the best!

One thing to consider may be the old maple/rosewood thing. I know many say there’s no difference but at our last rehearsal I used two identical Precisions, same year, same set up, same string make/gauge/age and the difference was quite amazing. The rosewood bass being much deeper, the maple in contrast fitting more “in” with the rest of the band but def not having so much low end push to it, so might be worth looking into?

The Quarterpounder pickups I reckon must have a big influence on that. Not sure if he uses the Shape feature as well, but those QPs are very full on the low-end, plus have a good amount of highs so maybe he doesn`t have a lot of treble added in.

The only festival I think I`d attend as a punter would be Rebellion, the punk festival in Blackpool. It takes place indoors, each stage has a bar and decent (at the start of the day anyway) toilets, and in-house cafes and places to buy ice-creams etc. Us sensible punks & skins know that festivalling in your 50s has to be done in a place of comfort!

I know the Half-Moon has a reputation of being one of "the venues" on the circuit but I`ve always found it pretty quiet whenever I`ve been there.

The above is pretty much as factual as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

Excellent, have a great time, and a tip which we sadly found out too late is that the public transport goes direct from the airport to the city itself at a fraction of the cost of taxis.

I use the Fender Deluxe for amp to pedal and the Fender Professional (vinyl covering) from pedal to bass, figuring that the stage might have beer spilt on it so cloth-type leads could get waterlogged.

I also feel a bit sorry for the Ukraine representative(s), assuming they do win they’ll always have it in the back of their mind that they only won through sympathy, and not through talent.

Add in another exact same bass for home use only and we all realise why my mind is cattled beyond repair……

Why one for each band, well I like to have a main for gigs with an exact same backup kept at home in case of failure/theft and then a cheaper backup for gigs. So using the exact same backup for the band that doesn’t gig means it at least gets used and doesn’t just sit in a case. I’m frighteningly complicated.
