1. Sorry guys this bass is outta here Cheers to everyone who enquired. I'll be sad to see her go
2. *THIS BASS IS NOW SOLD* For sale is a bit of a project bass that I just haven't had the time to do anything with. It is an 80's (I believe) satellite brand neck through precision in a natural finish. The idea was to fit new electronics bridge etc but I never got around to doing up and as it is taking up space in the parents's house...it has to go. The bass plays fine acoustically and I'm sure it will make a top precision with a nice pickup in it. The bass is a bit dinged and has some random screw holes though it does have thumb rest holes and bridge cover holes. The tuners and bridge are non original. The only problem I can see with the bass is that a screw head has been sheered off on one of the bridge screws but I'm sure this could be drilled out. But the screws has been sufficient enough in keeping the bridge down while it was stringed up. I'm asking for a mere £50 + shipping for the bass. I would be interest in trades for a weird and wonderful pedal...the worst I can say is no any questions, feel free to pm. Cheers, Dan.
3. They usually do, I've seen a few with a graphite neck but without the status logo and I'm not sure they have the woven look on the back of the neck. The blurb doesn't really say what's custom about it...just that it's a custom shop status. Should have phoned status up about the bass really
4. This bass in now *SOLD* Reluctantly up for sale is my Status Energy 5 string with a graphite neck. This is apparently a custom job ( a blurb from from status that mentions this came with the bass) I'm not 100% sure what is 'custom' about this bass. This is hands down one of the best 5 string I've played and the low b is very tight (and it's a 34" scale..!!!) This bass has been mainly used as a recording bass but has done the odd gig. Cosmetically, there is some light buckle rash on the rear and the one or two pea sized knock but is in very good condition for a 15 year old bass. If memory serves correctly, this is a 1996 model with two status hyperactive soapbar pickups, an active circuit (treble and bass boost on a single pot) with master volume and pickup blend. I'm asking for £450 plus shipping for the bass (Open to offers, partial pedal trades or w.h.y?) Reason for sale is that I just don't use five stringers any more. Also comes with a status/hiscox hardcase. Cheers, Dan.
5. Yo Ash, just sent you a message on Facebook...I'm interested. Any chance I could swing by and give her a try first? Dan
6. The machine head on the g string looks a little bent?
7. Holly crap!! That's in amazing condition!!! I bet you're glad you never took a router to the bass!!
8. Lovely t-40 Ash!! I'm going to be on the hunt for a blade t-40 after Christmas to go with my black toaster T-40 ... Would love a red one!!
9. I have one of those neck through precisions...it's been upgraded with a wizard pickup and it sounds and plays great! A good weight to it too (a tad on the heavy side, which I prefer). Looking to sell though so if anyone's looking to buy it, they can have it for £70 + postage
10. I've worked with the joy formidable a few times...Tom you're pretty much right! He also has a digitech jam man for playing loops and that. Amp wise...a Fender Rumble 2x10 combo and a behringer limiter before the amp, after the pedals. Dan
11. And this bass is now sold! Thanks for the interest everyone
12.
Does it come with strings? bumpo.
I knew this was going to come up....yes it does
13. *THIS BASS IS NOW SOLD* Up for sale is my Tokai/Anniversery Rick Copy. As for specs, I'm not 100% on any of them. What I do know is that it has been upgraded with a Seymour Duncan Ric bridge pickup and also a pickup surround from pickguardian (no more bottomless pit around the pickup). I also have a Serymour Duncan Ric pickup for the neck which I have never fitted (this will be included in the sale). Also I'm not sure if it was standard or not but a brass nut has been fitted to the bass. Another feature, again not sure if this is standard is that it has the push/pull knob which what I think changes between two capacitors like on a real 4003. The bass plays very well and I have had many compliments about its sound both live and in the studio. I've played one or two rics and I much prefer this bass over the two I have played. Cosmetically, there are one or two marks on the bass that were present when I bought the bass and hopefully the pictures will speak for them selves. Any queries, please don't hesitate to PM. I'm asking for £250 + shipping for the bass but I will perhaps take some interesting pedals for part exchange. Cheers, Dan

18. Charlotte Cooper from The Subways....some very tasty lines, awesome stage presence, good singer and rather attractive! AND plays a white and black Lakland P! Jack Lawrence, the bassist from The Dead Weather/Raconteurs? +1 on Arif from Protest The Hero
19. Hey guys!! Sorry for being slow with the reply's, have had a mental fortnight! Anyway, it's done. Picked it up yesterday and what can I say....I'm very pleased with how it's turned out. As far as the Di and effects loop....the di on the amp is pretty useless ( have a sansamp on my pedal board) and I've never used an effects loop on an amp. Anyway, enough rambling on....here are some pictures As you can see in the picture of the rear of the head, it's currently supported by bits of wood. The head is now attached to the frame and it looks much neater.
20. Bought a lovely T-40 off Mike, very easy deal and very good communication and keeping me up to date too top basschatter....can't wait for that pint!
21. Very nice, well done guys Really liking the iphone version so far, can't wait to road test it properly! How does the facebook interaction work?
22.
Well, after very little agonising (almost to the point of it being a foregone conclusion as soon as I saw the picture) I bought the white one. It's done a couple of rehearsals now, and I'm happy to report it's a very nice bass indeed. A quick tweak of the neck and a set of strap-locks is all it took to make it 'mine', the pickup is articulate and has a nice growl to it, the build quality and finish are right for the price tag and nice as they were, it's certainly a step up from the two 2009 MIMs that I traded in against it. So yeah, happy punter!
Pictures please
23.
Jilly's on smack
That's what I'm listening to now! Fantastic drum sound and that bass sounds so haunting!
