Hello there

For Sale is my Awesome Fender Classis '50 P bass in two tone sunburst finish

I bought this bass on Ebay during the summer in mint condition and has seen very little use since due to the fact that i can't get on with the width of the neck at the nut end.

The previous owner had installed a bridge cover which will be included with the sale and i myself have changed the original gold andonized scratchplate for a black WDmusic one. I will include both plates in the sale as well as the thumb rest which was also installed by the previous owner.

After Failing to sell it on Ebay, I'm looking for around £350 firm for it as it is in excellent condition plus £15 postage, however i would prefer collection from Cardiff as i'd hate for this bass to get damaged in transit. This is the lowest price i can go to.

Tades wise, I'm after an ESP LTD Vintage 204, a P bass or jazz bass preferably one with a maple neck would be nice but i'll concider other options!!

I have more images if you wish to see them, please post me your email address and i'll send them on to you, Bass chat won't let me upload more then the two images above

This is one of the nicest fender p basses i've played despite my issues with the nut width and is extremely well built in my opinion, a great addition to any players arsenal

Thanks for looking, please feel free to ask any questions

Could you just check the neck - is it really 1.75" at the nut & if possible check the frets size? I'm thinking - if it's a Mim I've not seen one with that spec. Could you let us know the serial number?

Just one more question, was the gold scratch plate a 10 hole, same as the WD black?

Cheerz, John

PS If it is that neck spec & USA made I'll have it!

Hey John,

the specs above are from the fender website for this model and from personal experience i do belive the neck is that wide at the nut, i've played other fender p basses and they aren't as wide as this one. The frets are described as Vintage Style frets which by looking at them id say they were actually quite small (not sure what the correct term would be). It is a Mexican made p bass, the serial number is:- MX10250793. The gold scratchplate is a 10 hole one with 4 smaller holes fo a pickup cover and thumb rest.

I hope this answers all your questions

Cheers (included below is the fender website page link for this bass)

Thanks Lloydy, it's a lovely bass, I think I'll stick to my plan-A & look for a USA to modify, but I'm very tempted :)

Good luck with the sale,

Hi mate,

These are fantastic instruments and I'll say this without flinching nor wearing a tin hat!! They absolutely pee all over the American Standard PBass. Seriously they are that good. 44mm at the nut because it is based on a 57p. Stunning and I really, really miss mine. If I had to criticize then it would be that the pups are just a wee bit to low in terms of output.
