1. I'm in the same situation, finally decided on the 3 for me....the jazz, the '76 precision and the status 5'er. Amp wise, I've never been happier and my pedal board is sounding as I want it. I've never been in this GAS free situation before. Feels kinda odd but the bank will be looking healthier. Browsing the BC classifieds isn't really inducing any gas...though an Orange AD200 would be lovely.
2.
David Ryan Harris... amazing player. I like the bass more than anything Fender have put out recently, but i get the feeling I won't be so forthcoming with the price of it.
+1 (had my eyes more on him than John Mayer!!!)....though probably wouldn't cost much to do a bitsa bass?
3. It does have its perks.....not really what you'd call a technical job
4.
How, how, how, how, how? I've always wanted to work at gigs and roadie but i've never been able too! I don't even know who to ask Very lucky man indeed!
It's through a company called Rock City....It's just local crew....mainly full of monkeys. I normally work with the PA guys and I usually show alot of interest and they're normally really keen to help me out and teach me about what they do! Managed to get some good contacts through it though Managed to get some work with The Joy Formidable's sound engineer which will be amazing and look great on my CV when I finish uni Still haven't worked a gig with a band I really like....though seeing Katy Perry up close was a highlight
5. When I saw John Mayer live, his guitarist was using a tele version of that bass. Looked very cool
6. Bought a Pedal Train off AJ, easy smooth transaction! Top Man!
7.
Dan, you lucky SOB! I was under the impression that ALL of maiden went through one monster of a 33kW PA, bass included? Also, is the tech using some crappy handheld tuner for it? I'm seeing them for the fourth time on saturday night at the o2, and I gave way to temptation and looked at a set list yesterday, and have to say it's average at best, not a fan of some of the songs either, I'm sure it'll be as amazing as ever though. Also, it wasn't announced until after the previous night's tickets had been sold out, and it was announced as an extra surprise - also, trivium will be supporting rather than dragonforce who will have been supporting on the previous night's london show and the show before that (in ireland IIRC). Having seen both of those bands about 5 times each including both on their debut album UK tours, I am glad I get trivium as the lesser of two evils, though i've seen them both far too many times for my liking! Getting really, really excited now,
All of their cabs are behind the riser (in between the drums). None of the guitarists (or Steve harris) use conventional heads....all rack mount gear! Janick's tech is using one of those really old hand held boss tuner's which is mounted onto the riser! His tech's a really young guy too...couldn't have been more than 25!!! He used to tech for Dragonforce too....must have a dad who is high up in the buisiness ey? Unlucky with the support...Airbourne were supporting in Cardiff who are a FANTASTIC band and completely mental live!!
8. The one in the picture is his no1 with the worn of headstock decal as seen here The one in the rack is another west ham bass which appeared to have a late 70's headstock decal. He had about 4 basses out with him, the two west hams, one early 70's and another mid 70's. Memory is a bit fuzzy as what the other two were. As far as his rig, he had four 4x10 marshall straight bass cabs, two on each side. Amp wise, his set up was surprisingly not really straight forward. Again memory is a bit fuzzy but I saw a pete cornish made splitter type box, some power amps and what I got told but his bass tech was a pre amp made pretty much exactly the same as the front end of a hiwatt solid state bass head. Though I have to say, his tone wasn't anything out of the blue. It was very very clean and clanky. Also, his bass tech is maiden's keyboard player too!!
9. This may interest a few guys on here Was working at the gig in Cardiff, got the grand tour of 'arry's rig And yes that's his no 1 bass. Dan
10. This is something I'd like to know too
11. The neck doesn't feel chunky....it's very comfortable!! Not quite p bass territory....but not jazz either! And tredders....nice '75 precision....may be the older brother of the one I just picked up Dan
12.
For floppy hat, flares and glove-wearing it has to be Nigel silddx Otherwise I'd go for Paul Simonon ... and DEFINITELY NOT this guy
Clarky.....where did you find that picture of 'ol Jeff? That's a mate of mine with him in the picture!!!! Mr Berlin's never been the sharpest dressed man....

17. A picture from a recent gig at Cafe Jazz in Cardiff! Can kind of see my rig behind me which consists of an orange bass terror and an Ashdown classic mini 1x15. Dan
18. All PM's replied to, sorry but no trades on this bass. Perhaps a partial trades on pedals or w.h.y but will still need at least £350 my way. Also case pics will be up a.s.a.p Thanks, Dan
19. For sale is my Epiphone Jack Casady. I've had this for a month or so and selling due to a recent precision bass purchase and not having enough space in my new poxy little house! Epiphone say: Maple body Mahogany block under bridge Set maple neck Rosewood fretboard Low-impedance JCB-1 humbucker VariTone control Volume and tone controls Pearloid trapezoid inlays Body binding Jack Casady headstock signature This bass really sings when strung with flatwounds (currently strung witbh d'adario chromes) and the varitone selector is a very useful feature with three quite distinct sounds. To me, the bass sounds like a big sounding precision bass. Cosmetically, there are a few marks which I will picture. Included is a hard case which is basically a big rectangle box (which I will also picture). I'm looking for £430 for the bass + flightcase (o.n.o). Postage will be around £10-15 or collection from cardiff but will consider delivery within a reasonable distance. Any questions or sound recordings? Just ask Dan
20. Me and a friend visited the gallery.....what a treat!!! got to try out a lot of fancy high end gear even though we said we were not buying on the day. Top marks for the gallery (staff and the stock of basses).
21. Another +1 for Orange....sent them an email regarding the bass terror before I bought it....had a reply within the hour!!!! Doing it as it should be done, well done Orange
22.
For me it has, finally realized that passive four strings Fenders are for me after going through numerous basses...I've narrowed i down to my 3 now, the 5 string active status.

Just realized how daft my statement sounds Kinda meant it as far as four strings....I prefer passive Fender types!! 5 string....anything's game Dan
23. Seeing as my mate is a mutual friend....The Jason Charles Rogers who's mentioned on Jeff Berlin's Facebook is a mate of mine!! Jeff never really comes across as a fun, friendly guy does he? Dan
