1. Has anyone checked it out yet? I'm 1/4 the way through it and I'm quite enjoying it Very bass (guitar) heavy and quirky as usual
2.
I'd have gone with cocobolo myself ...
We did discuss subtle tonal differences within the wood and screws. WE did come to a conclusion that a rubber and handle would offer a slight low cut at 40Hz to get rid of some unwanted rumble.
3. A photo of the rear of the head. There will be an oval shaped grille on the rear with the Marshall style mesh grille.
4. There will be ventilation at the back of the amp. I should have attached a picture of the rear really It's not costing me as much as I thought it would be.
5. So a few weeks ago I had the mad idea about getting a wooden frame built for my bass terror (a la AD200). I found a local cab maker A F Custom Cabinets who was willing to build what I had in mind. After scouring the web and an email to Orange (which they didn't reply) I didn't really find what I was after (though I did see one or two that were made for the tiny terror). The reason why I wanted this built for my head was to make it a little more substantial and also I felt that it was a little bit exposed with all of those grilles. After a few emails and popping down to Mark's workshop for measurements and a few design discussions he set to work on my sleeve. I requested that he send me build photos (mainly because this is the first 'custom' product I've ever ordered and I thought it would be quite nice to see the build diary) which I'll share on here A few days later I had a phonecall to pop down to see how the head fitted in the sleeve. I'mn very happy with how it's looking so far. The sleeve is going to be covered in black tolex with white piping like the black Orange heads.
6. A positive comment on the Gallery, my self and a fellow bass playing mate visited the gallery for the first time about 5 months ago and possibly had the best experience I've ever had at any music shop. Martin was very polite and helpful (even though we both said we were not buying on the day, but I will be making a purchase in the near future) and even let us try out an Alembic and the Wal and a few of his Sei's! I'd much rather travel to London than go to any of the Cardiff music shops and receive possibly the worst customer service I have ever received in my life *Gamlins*. I experienced first hand at what Alex is mentioning about tire kickers. Whilst I was there, some guy just walked in and started pulling basses off the walls and just having a pluck and putting them back on and knocking them which was horrible and awkward to watch! But Martin handled it in a polite manner
7.
As long as no-one else asks to use your gear it's all good! That said, I'd prefer a middle slot. The crowd is warmed up but not smashed and you're not last out, which guarantees a late finish!
+1 to that one!
8. I have two of the 1x15's, very very good cabs! Highly portable and quite light! Have a BUMP on me.
9.
Yup that sounds good to me, easier to get to then cardiff at least I'd offer to organise, but I've yet to go to one, and have no idea what's involved...
Perhaps my self, your self and Cocco could part organize the bass bash?
10.
Now that's the kind of cosmetic mod that I like - an elegant lady reclining tastefully - where do you get them - stickers that is!!
I picked it up off Ebay, got two for £5 ish. I think I typed in pin up girl transfer or something along those lines
11. That sounds good to me! I don't mind traveling
12. I've had a few stickers on my jazz, but I think this one will stay
13.
F**k me that bass sounds good. What is it, asides a jazz?
Not 100% sure, haven't really read into the album much. But I think the jazz will be coming out more often now The new Jamiroquai album rekindled my love for jazz tones too!
14. Great to see the bass in her new home Would love to hear it through that rig!!!
15. Stop playing...then when I know where I am...do a big bass slide into the note Works everytime
16. I'm quite enjoying the album so far, the songs I've heard so far have a good feel and the bass tone is very nice. His jazz sounds very tasty And the new song sounds better in the context of the album i.m.o
17. I bought an MXR Blowtorch from Peter and he was kind enough to put it on hold whilst I sorted out funds Top seller and no problems, thanks Peter!
18.
in fact the guitist is dreadful. i take it it's not john anymore? bass and drums good mind, but without decent guitar it doesn't work
It's a guy called Josh Klinghoffer who has previously worked with John on his solo albums.

I have nothing to do with the seller but I would imagine that someone on here would be interested.
20.
The hell is a bv?
Backing Vocal
21.
And his guitar playing and song writing skills...
Again +1.....
22.
+1. Also judging by that song it seems RHCP are going to really miss frusciente's bv's.
+1 on the lack of Frusciante's bv's! I haven't hear anything good about those flea basses!
23. Has anyone seen this yet? shows flea using his new acoustic rig and flea bass which looks quite cool! Does anyone know what he's using on the new album?
