1. For me it has, finally realized that passive four strings Fenders are for me after going through numerous basses...I've narrowed i down to my 3 now, the 5 string active status, the jazz and precision. Tonal perfection and one satisfied bass player (at last). I found it really fun buying and selling different basses....I guess it's the only way to find the right bass. Dan
2. Both, usually switch depending on song Dan
3. Is the bass synth still available?
4. That's the post....but it does show the original 'bastard.
5. also wouldn't a 550 watt all valve head be stupid loud? I'm also guessing a class d power amp and would be very similar to the orange bass terror.
6. Just saw on Mark Gooday's Facebook page that a 550w version of the little bastard amp is coming soon. He does mention that it will be the same size too.
7. Was in the 02 last night....fantastic set!!! Was up with the gods on geddy's side but had a great view!! The sound....hmmm.....something was incredibly resonant.....kick drum? Taurus? Bass? I did see a few guys have a few words with the sound guy..but nothing much changed. Some songs sounded better than others! Was my first time seeing them and I'm a massive fan...was almost in tears when they first came on stage Highlight of the night for me? Marathon, Vital Signs and Subdivisions. Anyone else at the 02 last night? Dan
8. Just called in with Col today and had a bit of a fiddle on the ol Warwick.......DAM!!! if I hadn't have bought a new car recently she would have been coming home with me!!! Bump for an AMAZING bass!! Dan
9. Basshcat every time for me! I've had nothing but joy buying and selling on here. I feel much more inclined to ask more detailed questions on here over ebay....guess the vibe of this place is much better than ebay ey and those ebay charges ey.....I do have a car up on ebay at the mo tho....if I could sell a car on here...it would be up here Dan
10. Me and a fellow BC'er are off for an evening with Rush at the O2...first time for us both, very excited!!! I think we may be up with the gods though....fingers crossed that we're not though Dan
11. THESE ARE NOW SOLD For sale, a pair of Yamaha HS50 studio monitors. Here's what Yamaha has to say; 2-way bass-reflex bi-amplified near-field studio monitor 5" cone woofer and 3/4" dome high-frequency unit 55Hz - 20kHz frequency response. 70 watts dynamic bi-amplified power. XLR and TRS phone jack inputs accept balanced or unbalanced signals. Level control facilitates precise overall system level matching. MID EQ, ROOM CONTROL, and HIGH TRIM response control switches. LOW CUT switch. Full magnetic shielding. I've owned these monitors for about a year and have been served me very well. They are in mint condition and have been very well looked after and no rattles or anything from the speakers. I still have the original boxes so I am willing to deliver at a cost of roughly £15 or pickup from Cardiff (but will meet at reasonable distance). I am looking for £170 and no trades (unless you have a studio sub). Any questions, just PM. Cheers, Dan
12. IIRC, status make a jazz style preamp? (looking again, it may take some modification for it to fit as it is all fixed on a PCB) Perhaps that may be the trick. Not sure how the east pre's sound, maybe someone else could chime in? I've got an audere 2 band pre in my jazz and it sounds pretty 'jazz on steroids'
13. I've been paying the £10 service for a good while now...and like alot of people on here...been using it on my Iphone (though, for the first 4 or 5 months, the app kept crashing on start up even after many app and iphone software reinstalls it finally worked after jailbreaking my iphone). My house mates use spotify alot and and are devastated with the new limitations thought they did suspect it was inevitable. The recommended artist feature is brilliant and have found many new artists through it.
14. Now that's a real man with a real mustache!!! But also, a ripper with EBO pickups?
15. Energizer industrial...my dad can get a load of boxes of 9v's from work They last for AGES! The band loves it when I bring a fresh box to gigs and practices!
16. I don't mind co organising it with another person I really would like this event to take place and I only live about 10 mins from the music box. Dan
17. Bump for an amazing bass! Though I don't agree with you about getting rid of her
18. Ahhh 'expert' village....haven't seen their videos for a while...always worth a laugh anyone recall the video where the guy is showing how to stretch a string on a bass? It's priceless!
19.
Incidentally does anyone else use music box for rehearsals? I know v8bass does and I do.
I've used it a handful of times
I'd interpret that as meaning that they were asking for you to make adjustments to the monitor mix. S.P.
No no, this was them telling me to turn up the guitars in the FOH when they were happy with the monitors.

Live Sound

I've just started work as a FOH engineer in a small club with small time bands...and I do get it very often from the band who are stood BEHIND the FOH saying that they can't hear this and that...it's really frustrating as what I'm hearing from the FOH is a well balanced mix. I had a corker the other day....'can we have another microphone on the plant pot to capture more of the paper'...."facepalm"
22. Hey guys in Cardiff, my band (Martin Goddard and the lights of zetar) are playing in Cardiff Arts Institute tonight. It's our second gig (our first was last night and it went extremely well ) It's £1 (charity donation) entry and the gig kicks off at 7:30 Cheers!
