1. I'm pretty sure you can buy parts direct from Wariwck (but I can imagine them being a bit more pricey than from a retailer).
2.
+2 Studiospares
+3 studio spares. I have made all of my cables from van damme/neutrik and I'm on my fourth year with some of the cables Plus I find soldering relaxing....perhaps it'll all the lead fumes?
3. Have you tried pickguardian? http://www.pickguardian.com/pickguardian/Fender.html Do you mean the gold anodized like on the 50's precisions?
4. I can never get enough of Bobby Vega's pick playing, so fluid and very musical
5. Jon's a very nice guy indeed!! He teaches a few of my mates in the university and have come on leaps and bounds since having lessons badgerific, which uni are you in?
6. Cheers guys!!! I've got for the blowtorch, seems to be what I'm after! I like the fact that I'll have more control over the fuzz than the big muff.
7. Just realised....I forgot to save my edit to delete this thread!!!
8. Looking into it more...the MXR blowtorch is what I'm after!! Thanks guys!!
9. I'm currently using a russia EHX big muff and my main source of fuzz but I'm finding that it lacks any clarity. Can anyone recommend any alternatives? I mainly use it quite often combined with a bassballs for a bass synth like effect but use just the fuzz on its own too. Dan
10.
Well the Streamer the OP was looking at was their cheaper model, hence all the missing features and Rockbass styling. They rightfully go for around £200 as they weren't that expensive new. Corvettes are an interesting one, the retail of the German Standard (now discontinued) was recently about £1k IIRC, whereas when i bought mine in 2002 the actual selling price was £600 for the Standard Active in Ash. Their used price of around £400 seems fair considering that. I guess there's just not that many people willing to pay the "correct" prices for the higher end Warwicks these days. I guess instead of selling them we should all just buy another while they're still cheap!
I remember paying £350 for an ash corvette that had been sitting in a music shop in Swansea for about a year or so (new old stock I guess?) As you said about the £1k price tage of the corvette's....I'm sure they shot up over night!
11. Fairplay.....that is one stunning bass what's the weight like?
12. I'm really amazed at how low the resale value of Warwick's are.....very very well built instruments! Though their shapes can be a bit.... phallic? Anyone know why their resale value is so low? As others have said....I think £500 could get you a higher end Warwick that the streamer you have mentioned!
13.
The cloth, with pedals still attached, came out of mine last week when I tried to remove one pedal.
I was hearing some strange noises from my pedal board, urned out to be my pedals ripping the carpet back. Opened up the case to find my pedals and psu in some weird carpet pedal ball not a pleasant sight!

DIY Effects

Not sure if this is a common problem or not...but I've built a wooly mammoth clone....everything works when bypassed but there is no sound at all when the pedal is engaged! Anything I should check? This is my first ever build and I'm very much a newbie to all of this!
15. Yeah it did....was really gutted about it! Hence the reason I want to organise another one Music box sounds good! Anyone have any dates in mind?
16. Hah, so much for the rioting last night though ey?
17. Hey guys, after a previous thread mentioning a cardiff bass bash (which fell through in the end) I'm seeing if there would be enough interest in organising one for this year? I was very excited about the last one and very gutted that it fell through. So lets talk dates and gear that people could bring. The music box in cardiff would be the ideal place to hold this bass bash! Any other suggestions? Cheers, Dan.
18. It's a shame that I really disliked the DR black beauties...looked great
19. Here's mine, a Status Energy custom shop jobbie. One of the finest basses I've ever played and has an amazing b string. Flawless in pretty much every way....those boys down Essex sure are great craftsmen It's the only status I've actually seen and played though!

Jazz

Here's my contribution....a 2006 mim jazz. It was my first 'proper' bass. It's one of the finest jazz's I've played (had an MIA jazz about a year ago which I sold on as I preferred my MIM). It's been modded with an Audere 2 band pre amp, badass II, tort shell pickguard and Dimarzio ultra jazz's (third set of pu's, had barts before the Dimarzio's). She's quite heavy too which is fine by me I've been toying with the idea of converting her to a stack knob and adding a 60's headstock decal.
21. Here's mine. Got the pedaltrain today after buying a cheapo kinsman one and the inside just fell appart after 2 weeks..... chain is Bass>pitchblack>chorus>Big Muff>Bass Balls>Boss Ps-2 pitch shifter/delay>Sansamp>opto Stomp
