1.
Where can i find a spector legend 4 bolt-on (unless theres a better spector for the same money if so let me know) in black holoflash? This should be around £400 i THINK. Are their better basses for the money? Also can you possibly compare the necks to any others? At the moment my three favourite necks are fender p bass, warwick corvette and musicman sterling.
Sound Control are the importers/distributors of Spector over here so talk to them. If you're willing to buy 'used' check out a Spector Euro/LX or NS2A in preference to the Legend. You can sometimes find them on eBay....
 2.
I reckon I'd be up for a nice white Jazz (like the one fleamail is selling on here, only (hopefully) cheaper), but I'm unsure as to it's exact model name/number designation. Can anyone tell me what it is that I crave? And what kind of financial damage do y'all reckon I'd be looking at? End of questions, for now.
Go to the Ishibashi site (see the thread on Importing guitars for the link) and check out what is available.....
 3. Bumped... And now on eBay too... Will consider a trade for a white Alder bodied Fender P bass (Japan or USA) with Rosewood board.
 4.
Definately one of the 'modern' classic basses. I've played a couple of NS2's and they're just fantastic. Congrats on 2 great catches!!
Thank you Sir! They're right up there with the current Euro models... Btw, can I interest you in another Jackson Kip Winger bass.... (it'd help me pay off my Credit Card!)
 5.
I reckon it could be one of the 40+ bass owners. I have a funny feeling it's our Spector devotee.
Nope, not me! Least I hope not..... she shouldn't be on here.... she should be working to pay the rent!!
 6. Over the last month I've got VERY lucky in acquiring a couple of superb older Spector basses....! These are the highly regarded Korean-made Spector NS2A's from the Kramer-era (mid-late 80') and are maple thru-neck with active Spector pickups. I've upgraded the black one with gold bridge/tuners.... and the previous owner had already upgraded the pickups/electronics to EMGs. I paid just £250 for this one! It has some light scratches on the front and a few deeper ones on the back but nothing too serious...... In retrospect I probably shouldn't have photographed a black bass against a dark purple throw.... but you get the idea.... I also bought this lovely white one off of eBay from the US for $450 BuyItNow (£225) which only increased to a total of £310 including shipping/duty.... I will upgrade the pickups/electronics on this to full EMGs but that's all it needs....
 7.
As a little anecdote to add to the Spector love here... I'm in the US, visiting the in-laws right now, and one of the things I wanted to do while I was out here was to take my Spector NS5-CRFM up to the Spector workshop just outside Woodstock, NY to get a problem with the truss rod sorted out (the previous owner had broken the nut off the end of the truss rod... ). So, we headed up there, and found them, out in the middle of nowhere, in a rather anonymous workshop right opposite a big industrial welding company. So we went in, and handed the bass over to Jimmy (Spector's tech) for him to take a look at. The secretary (whose name escapes me, alas) directed us to a shop a few minutes down the road that stocked lots of British stuff (amazing to find Marmite, Golden Shred, Cornish pasties and Double Deckers in a tiny shop miles from anywhere)... when we got back, Jimmy had fitted a new truss rod, filled in a small crack at the top of the fingerboard, then gave the bass a proper setup for me... for free! I also had my Spector GAS re-ignited when I got the chance to have a go on a USA Spector NS-5 with buckeye burl facings... what an absolutely amazing bass! Best customer service I've ever experienced. I didn't get a chance to meet Stuart Spector though, alas... apparently he was off fishing with Michael Tobias (who's also from around there).
That's a great story.... and further cements my opinion/working experience of them. Great guys, great service...
 8. You can never have too many. It's personal choice.... How many pairs of shoes/handbags etc do you have...?
 9.
Well, then the *bloke you know* seems to be luckier than the *bloke I know*. I bet if I mentioned this to the *bloke I know*, he might even be inclined to try to get away with another CIJ jazz, if only he could sell some of his stuff in the for sale forums, erm alledgedly
Indeed...!
 10. Parcelforce charge is about £13.50. Duty/VAT is charged on the declared value+shipping.

 13.
Thanks! Read an article on Tiran the other day, might have been in bass player magazine. Apparently The Doobie Brothers had a reunion in 1987 which consisted of most of the members that had ever played with them, it ended up being four drummers, a percussionist, four guitar players, two keyboard players and Tiran! mental...
That's right! He FINALLY got a feature article in Bass Player after 35 years of professional playing.... I'm lucky enough to know him personally and have visited him iat his home in California many times and he is one of the most solid, grooving and meolidc players I've ever had the pleasure to hear.... He LOVED that 'reunion' tour.... though apparently locking in with four drummers with varying ideas of exactly where the 'pocket' lay was kinda interesting.....
 14. There's just no money in being a 'brickie' these days is there?
 15. Well I'd like to order at least two Fenders from Ishibashi so add my two to the list....
 16. Peter Cetera with Chicago on albums from CTA - XI.... he had to contend with a horn section, drummer, percussionist, keys and a guitarist rated better than Hendrix. He still managed to come up with superb melodic, rhythmically grooving basslines reminiscent of McCartney/Jamerson.... and all while singing!! ^_^ Tiran Porter with The Doobie Brothers. Had to contend with 2 drummers, a percussionist, up to 3 guitarists, a keyboard player and huge harmony vocals..... and still cut through with beautifully composed basslines....

 22. With chrome hardware and a black or red tort scratchplate this thing would have sold by now. Seems we're all concerned with 'looks' eh?
 23.
Anyone else spot the advert in this month's BP mag? Chuck's love affair with Phil Jones' daleks seems to have been somewhat fleeting... he's proudly endorsing Genz Benz gear now. I wonder if this topic will prompt a scathing "you're just a nobody" attack from PJB..?
Take the endorsements when they're offered! I hope to be checking out the Genz Benz stuff myself very shortly. GREAT reviews coming in... Good to see Chuck's back playing his Spector as well... and that's his 'choice', rather than an endorsement...
