1. I found this....in case anyone's interested....? Gumtree 75RI
2.
A CIJ Geddy Lee Jazz - perfect for what you want I reckon.
+1 And you could always change the pickguard colour or upgrade any element of it if need be...
3. Here's me in my clobber in the KISS tribute band.... backstage with my lovely wife.
4. There's an obvious wrong note on the acoustic (?) guitar on Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells....
5. Lovely grain on that!
6. The NS230 is a beautiful bass, but at $15000 (£8000) it is more pricey then any bass I would ever purchase... Spector NS-230 If you want a good Spector just go for a Euro or, if you can afford it, a full on US NS2.
7.
I'd like to see a non valve version.
I'd like to see an ALL valve version....and/or a version that goes down to 2 ohms.
8. I personally have never got on with the more recent Warwicks as I've always found the necks to be too thick. I'd love to own an 80's/early 90's Streamer as they have a lovely vibe about them and feel/play/sound so much nicer to my ears.... I had a SUB until about a year ago and I really regret getting rid of it..... Ultimately thought it's personal choice, so do what's right for you
9. Ooooh! I like the look of the Shuttle 6.0 !
10.
I thnk the mtd’s are excelent 5 strings but a high end spector would provide more tone.
+1
11.
Sounds brilliant... I want one of them - where do you get them from??
I got her from a bloke who completely undervalued her and didn't know how to best play with her so let her go..... It was fate, as I was in the market for exactly that model..... in fact I'd been GASing over her for months! She's relicing nicely and improves with age though she is often covered in my sweat after heavy playing... A very tidy investment which I'm not planning to put back on the market ANY time in the foreseeable future!
12. ebs_freak.... methinks you win the best post in this thread award!! Superb....!!
13. ON HOLD. Sale Pending....
14. Ooh! I like that Precision...
15. I think it's more to do with 'instrument placement' in the sound specturm. If your bass is cutting through nicely with a slight mid boost so as not to clash with the guitar/keyboard and you each occupy a slightly different part of the EQ field with tight drums and a clear vocal it matters not if you are playing a Squier or a Spector into a Carlsboro or an EA. The audience will hear the quality of the overall sound, allowing them to pick out individual instruments. However, I agree that if your gear is good quality then it will be more reliable and provide you more opportunity to meet the above requirement.
16. Tort all the way.... A red tort is nicer than a brown though....
17. I've been browsing the web/ebay etc and was wondering.... is there really any difference between a replacement Fender body (painted & finished) that was made in Mexico as opposed to made in the US or Japan? Just getting some project ideas together....
18. The Hartke ALL the way.....
19. BEAUTIFUL bass!! Congrats!
20. I've got a lovely '76..... beautifully ergonomically designed like my Spectors..... very shapely with a full, tight bottom and just enough top end to attract your attention without dominating the mix. VERY easy on the eye & a pleasure to play.....
21. That's OK.... should be meeting up with him this week
22.
Look out.. Dood is posting his '67 alike ;o) (It's a very good example of a non-export CIJ - I love the TV era script and the pups aint bad either.)
Still wanting that one off of you.... grrrr......
23. I purchased a Precision neck from a reputable eBay seller in the States on 24th December. It was shipped to me USPS on the 27th and turned up here yesterday with no charges! Result
24. I don't see a problem with pointing out that someone has priced their item too highly in the market as it currently stands. The seller may not realise.... and may wonder why it is not selling. In this particular case the seller is in Italy and could be unaware of the current 'going-rate' in the UK.
