I like mine with a MM pickup and an active preamp, everything else I like about normal Fender ones.

There was a radio programme on today on radio 4 that sounded interesting regarding this, apparently sinister is latin for left handed! They said no one is truly ambidextrous, people call themselves that if they do some things one way and other tasks the other rather than all tasks with either equally well.

Yep great day again folks, thanks I haven't decided what I'm gassing for yet, MAS45 cab or two to upset TheRev, a Fearless cab from Guy at Tricky Audio with a super sparkle finish, a 5 string upright, a Yamaha Silent bass, an EA amp, Geoff's ability, a full circle and one of many fancy preamps?

We were probably a bit far away anyway in Mere Green near Sutton Coldfield, but I had to come back home via Lichfield and I'd actually been to Burton to do my proper job all day yesterday so I might be a bit tired today! Right I'm setting off!

This was due to the early E preamps' chip not being able to handle the hard transients generated by the MFD's. The second generation E preamp was slightly tweaked with capacitors, and allowed the treble control to function in all positions,including the bridge pup solo'ed. E's and later L2000's all used the same preamp from early 1982 to 1992. Sound differences? Second-gen preamps sound clean and deep, adding big lows and highs that are not harsh or tinny. The bottom end on first-gen preamps can knock down buildings. [/quote] Ultimately they are just lumps of wood bolted together with mainly generic hardware screwed on, the guy with his name on the headstock is likely to spend more time and effort getting it right than a Cort factory worker working to feed his family in korea. The best bet is a sort of mass produced custom imo, if the luthier builds a random bass with funny pickup spacing and crap hardware because it's what the customer wants it will be crap but a luthier that has a sort of base model design that the customer works around then everyone wins and the builder has done things like the body cut, neck pocket and headstock/tuner layout many times.

Maybe time machines will be built after your gone blue then that generation will be able enjoy past,present and future bands!?

Of course you must remember that Cort also have one of the worst reputations in the world for poor working conditions whilst you are suggesting we find a better whipping boy.

My Cort comments aren't snooty at all, I actually like the look of the Curbow, but I wouldn't spend USA Gibson money on one.

Can you not see that the younger person will at least be able to enjoy a fraction of the Beatles that you did yet being dead will completely stop someone enjoying anything after their demise?

I dont mind the look of it but it's not exactly wow is it?

Being born 25 later allows you to enjoy everything someone born in 1952 has plus an extra 25 years worth of new music, there might be a much better band than the Beatles in 30 years time!

Looks like a Cort to me, Gibson and basses don't work for me other than the ripper/grabber, make a ripper 5 string and we'll talk.
