  1. Was Live After Death ‘85? I can’t remember. If so, that would have been on heavy rotation.
  2. I do regret selling my V8, but my back has thanked me and to be honest, the way my right arm is at the moment, I couldn’t take it out and gig it anyway. Enjoy your new purchase 🤘
  3. No Jacket Required by Phil Collins The Dream of The Blue Turtles by Sting
  4. Given how much they charge and how quickly they shift what they produce, 3Leaf could do with stepping up their production so I can actually buy an Octabvre Mk3.
  5. I know it’s not an SVT, but the Rocket range are pretty fabulous. Then there’s the SGT-DI.
  6. In one way I’m pleased I’m not the only one as Fender were a bit arsey about it and I couldn’t believe it was a one-off. I’m also sad that you’ve had to go through it. Fender eventually sent me a new neck and it’s been fine since. ‘Hope you get it sorted. How long had you owned it before it went?
  7. Live Killers is not an album I expected to see in this thread. To my ears, it just sounds horrible and is full of overdubs. They couldn’t even get the transitions between the songs right. Listen to Death On Two Legs going into Killer Queen - just awful. Brighton Rock is a composite of three different performances and also has overdubs.
  8. Oh yes, no doubt that the three you quoted are live albums, but they also contain some unique material which there-fore can't be compared to their studio predecessors. Personally, I think Broadway was of its time. A very strange tour which I saw and not as good as Humor IMHO. Roxy is an absolute classic. I hope you have heard the expanded editions.
  9. A tricky one this, given Zappa's tendency to use segments of live material to construct albums in the studio. Personally I don't think any of those three stand head and shoulders above Over-Nite Sensation, Apostrophe(') or One Size Fits All. YMMV.
  10. That's a lot of classic albums that have been 'trounced' by one live album which has completely different arrangements. I don't dislike David Live as an album, I'm just not sure it trounces the sum of its parts.
  11. It doesn't get anywhere near the slating Alive! does on Wikipedia, although I accept Wikipedia may have some inaccuracies 🤣 >>Frampton said "the album is mostly live except for the first verse of 'Something's Happening', the rhythm electric guitar on 'Show Me the Way' (the talk-box came out but the engineer forgot to move the mic) and the intro piano on 'I Wanna Go to the Sun' were fixed in the studio, but the rest was all live (all the guitar solos, acoustic guitars, electric keyboards, drums, bass guitar and rest of vocals) which was unheard of at the time"<<
  12. I guess you can't have Alive! as it almost qualifies as a studio album 😎 N.B. Peter Criss excepted
  13. I'm relatively new to the world of Smith basses, but I've been blown away by the White Tiger I have; it's a superb instrument. Someone is going to be very happy with this one.
  14. Bought an SGT-DI from Mike. Fantastic packing, delivered really quickly and just as described. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks again.
  15. Ah man, that’s sad. What a player. RIP Bernie.
  16. That’s a great idea. I should get a t-shirt with the band name, date, venue and time I need to be there for each gig 😂
  17. I’m curious about the specific basses the OP is referring to. I’m not quite sure why though as the unamplified resonance of an electric bass has never figured on my radar 😎
  18. I tried to rip it yesterday as I feared this would happen. My software said no. Anyone else manage it?
  19. @admiralchew - I’ll have that off you if it’s still available?
  20. I think we’ve disagreed on this before. For me, a few rounds of steroid injections and some quality physio has steered me from a completely locked finger to a useable hand that aches in the morning after a gig, but hasn’t locked since. I believe the jabs can help some people, but I do accept it will never be a total fix. ’Always decline’ is a bit OTT IMHO. If it was that ineffective, it would never be offered.
  21. Hi @Rich. Yes I've suffered with this for years as has @NancyJohnson. I think there is a thread regarding his exploits somewhere. My right ring finger locked folded some time ago and I ended up having steroid injections. The jabs relieved it almost over night, but you can't keep having them. I then went on to some fairly intense physio which has kind of held it at bay. I still wake up feeling like i've boxed ten rounds during the night and both ring fingers are stiff as hell, but they ease off during the day. By evening (gig times) they're workable, but I sure know about it the day after. The ultimate solution it have the pulleys cut, which I think is what @NancyJohnson had done. I'm on the verge of needing it, but am getting by without taking that step - for now. Hope the injections work for you. They definitely helped for me, but it's not a permanent solution for everyone.
  22. Yes, I know, but I won't ruin it either. The one on the left has elements that are still there on some models.
  23. Well. it's 30" scale and he's quite a big lad, so a bit of both.
  24. Firstly, it irritates me beyond belief people posting links with no context. If you're going to post something at least give us a chance to decide whether we want to click on it by giving a description, even if it is brief. Secondly, I don't think the lady above (aneesastrings) is miming at all. The whole of the audio is out of sync with the video, the vocal and playing.
