Worth trawling Talkbass as well - the general informed opinion is that you need a preamp capable of handling the very high impedence of a Piezo pickup otherwise your tone will be shot to pieces..

Bought a Lakland LOG Bob Glaub fiver from Dennis.. What a nice gentleman.. Even though I had trouble getting the payment through, he still shipped the bass... Deal with absolute confidence..

My thunderfunk with it's fan switched on is around 54 dBA - and with it off about 50 dBA.. Using the same app at the same distance, but that assumes the calibration is accurate..
