1.
Thanks Jack. Without this wonderful site I wouldn't have known that.
Also different power amps have different input sensitivities.. QSC's are known to need a high signal level to drive them - from what I remember 1.5v at unity and there is a mod to make this .775 v
2. That's the most warwicky looking bass I've seen in a long time.. Looks lovely and a great price... GLWTS..
3.
That's pretty drool-worthy. I'll try and pop into BD later this week if it's quiet at work. I'll see if they can redeem themselves. I can at least get an idea of how the Spectors balance and take a look at relative build quality across the range. This is likely to be a protracted decision due to the outlay after all. Anderton's are now stocking Spector too and I notice that PMT Brum had a pic on their FB page. No stock listed on their store-site, but this may be a case of 'look what's coming'.
They had a couple in PMT Brum when I was there a few weeks ago..
4. My Jazz 5 is even narrower - (string centre to string centre distances) nut - 36mm, neck PU 59mm, bridge PU 62mm, Saddle 66mm
5. What model is that 210? Can't see it on their website... Just found it on their facebook page - 210LNT 210LNT Neolite Bass Cabinet, •1200 Watts - 4Ω •40 Hz – 16 kHz •100 dB 1W @ 1m •21 Kg
6.
The Gen 1 Compact was in continuous production from late 2008 to mid 2013. The Gen 2 models started appearing in mid 2010 and their production ended in mid 2013, when the Gen 3 models took over (initially just 12XN cabs, then later the 10CR range started growing). We don't make anything with 15" drivers now because our 12XN drivers are better for high accuracy sounds and our 10CR drivers better for more coloured yet still relatively full-range sounds.
But are not 15" drivers better for bass?
7. Worth trawling Talkbass as well - the general informed opinion is that you need a preamp capable of handling the very high impedence of a Piezo pickup otherwise your tone will be shot to pieces..
8. The "industrials" replaced the procells... I buy them in boxes of ten online for about £8 inc delivery...
9.
Blimey £££. And here's me hoping there some £100 pracky amp that might do.
Light, cheap, good. Choose any two https://www.gak.co.uk/en/behringer-bt-108/940

Just had a Lakland Bob Glaub (L.O.G edition) passive 5'er arrive.. I thought I'd see what the passive P Bass thing was all about.. Will string it with flats and report back with thoughts and photos...
15. Bought a Lakland LOG Bob Glaub fiver from Dennis.. What a nice gentleman.. Even though I had trouble getting the payment through, he still shipped the bass... Deal with absolute confidence..
16. Interesting project bass depending on how much it goes for.. slap cut as well..
17. Because P Bass players want to fit in?
18. Not ebay - but bass player market on facebook..
19. My thunderfunk with it's fan switched on is around 54 dBA - and with it off about 50 dBA.. Using the same app at the same distance, but that assumes the calibration is accurate..
20.
I'm using an airplain cabin case with trolley for the past 5-6 years and it's still going strong even though it's made of fabric. Something like this: I can carry my amp, all the cables, spare battery, strap, mic, music sheets and pen, gaffa tape, guitar stand, my pedalboard (5 pedals) and even a micro mic stand if needed. All fit inside, and it has wheels so i don't have to carry it's weight!
In a couple of years you can move onto something like this ?
21. Swan flightcases are promoting some airline size flight bases at the moment.. They make all my custom flightcases are quick, flexible and good value.. http://www.swanflight.com/airline-hand-luggage-cases.html
22. Hiscox case should do the job. Or one of the gator cases ?
