1. What make and model are your current cabs ?
 2. What cabs do you have currently. ? My goto cab at the moment is a barefaced big twin 2 and there is no b farting.
 3. Also the advice you were given about a 1x15 or 4x10 for low frequencies is not true or false. Driver size had little to do with it. A decent 2x12 for me is currently the best compromise.
 4. You need to see the frequency plot for the cab - the Ashdown could be -15db at 30 hz, and the eden 0db down at 50 Hz.. Not comparing like with like.. Ashdown are annoyingly reticient when it comes to useful detail about pretty much everything they make.. There is a frequency plot here http://ashdownmusic.com/files/product/file/datasheet_20150224063841_74985.pdf - not sure whether it's measured or calculated... But you see the roll off from 50 Hz..

 6.
+1 for the Ashdown Mags. Great cabs but need a van just for the bass gear...
Geddys Nose is now one of the few people I know with a 16x10 rig :-)
 7.
Yes, very true. Although, it was possible to recognise a tune out of the arse, of a certain French, Professional Flatulist. And not forgetting, the glorious arsehole tunes from 'pro' gigging farter, 'Mr Methane'.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_P%C3%A9tomane
 8.
I guess you have a point. However, I'm more than slightly miffed at some of the big brands when they, ahem, seem to be implying what they're implying. It's hard enough to extrapolate what'll work in a live context, even without these semi-fudged numbers...
I have "real watts" amps (thunderfunk TF750A and a Glockenklang Heart Rock2) and a TC RH750.. The RH750 is plenty loud enough..... As loud in perceived terms as the Mesa Prodigy Four:88 I had.. The Class A/B amps have more "thud" than the RH though.
 9.
What's with these alternative watts?! And from once respectable brands, no less.
There are a couple of ways to look at this - the concept that "tube" watts are perceived as being bigger than solid state watts... TC make a good case for their APM being "like" a tube amp, but it's annoying that it took a while to get the info out of them... Partly it's our fault as we simply look at the number of watts (thankfully RMS) an amp produces as the main thing.. From what I hear the Reidmars are considered pretty loud regardless..
 10.
Had an reply from the seller, friendly polite email saying that we could use paypal, but that'd provide more security sending the money than recieving the amp, right? Also offered to facetime while he quickly demo's the amp which I thought was a nice gesture and would make me feel a little better that it works but still no guarantee it'd be sent. Would this change anyones mind?
If it's normal paypal then if it does not arrive as described you get your money back.. But worth checking for your own peace of mind on the paypal website,,,
 11. Up for sale due to recent BT2 acquisition. I also have a Compact up for sale - I'll keep the one that does not sell.. This is the version with the tweeter... No issues at all... In great, but gigged, condition. This has been converted to a 2 Speakon configuration. Comes with Roqsolid cover.. I'm based between J11 and J12 of the M40 (banbury/warwick) - you're more than welcome to come and try before you buy, or I'm happy to meet up/deliver within say 60 miles...
