Try bassandtuba. He had a white 5 string soul with Delano's I think. We were in discussion about a deal on it a while ago but in the end I opted for an old school jazz bass made out of wood! Based on the feedback these are high quality basses and very light. No real downsides other than the love/hate asthetic (although the Soul model is much more conventional). I still like the look of that white soul bass...

Finally getting around to clearing out a few pedals that I'm just not using any more. All great but either superceded or just not part of my set up. Digitech whammy Mint condition, might still have the box too. Comes with power supply. Gimp fx fat boy Great dirtbox but it's not my type of dirt. Best descriptions of tone controls ever. Myrtle distortion Not sure who makes these but the two really important facts are 1 it has a picture of a spider on 2 it's more savage than a savage thing that someone's been winding up every day for two weeks. 50 plus shipping for the whammy (it's heavier and I'm not sure how much it'll cost to post), 50 including postage for either of the other two. Bargain!

Yes, the controls are vol, pan, bass, mids, treble in that order. The vol is a push/pul to engage or disengage the EQ. The switch is a mystery. When I first saw the bass I guessed coil tap as well but it doesn't appear to do anything and the previous owner was equally at a loss. I've not taken the back off the bass to investigate further as, tbh, it sounds just fine all set flat! Perhaps it is a subtle Mwahhh booster -

Scale length is a smidge over 34" - call it 34 1/4. I took a few other measurements for another enquiry: Width is 55mm at the nut and 88mm at the 24th fretline. Neck is 20mm deep at the 12th fretline. Spacing is 17.5mm at the bridge, 9mm at the nut. Hope that's of help. -

So having really needed a fretless bass, and then having navigated some problems with the shipping (previous seller Janek was an absolute star), I'm having to concede that 6 strings is just too much for me on a fretless bass. I never saw that coming - extra strings for me are usually like roast potatoes on sunday lunch, you can't have enough. In this case it seems five roast potatoes is my maximum. I'm happy to sell it and it's priced at what I paid for it (includes an MBT hardcase), ideally though I would prefer to trade for a fretted 6 string. 34 or 33 scale, 18mm spacing max. A bit of cash could move either way. It's in Norwich if you want to try it out. Details are: Ash body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, bartolini pickups, Gregory preamp, schaller tuners and bridge. Currently set with a low action - it was super low when I received so anyone wanting a fretless with a very light touch would be ok with this bass. Spacing is 17.5mm, I believe the bridge will adjust but I've not investigated this myself as the spacing was fine as is. Overall I've found this to be a great fretless, I would keep it if I could feel at home with the extra string, no question. Janek - I hope you don't mind but I've used you pics - they are better than the ones I shot today plus there are some nice shots of girls in football gear in some which I think add to the appeal of the bass. Cheers, Abd

Skjold Lion's Pride 5 string super Jazz £1350
andybassdoyle replied to dotmaka's topic in Basses For Sale
My condolances in respect of said passed equine. Sadly I just can't justify this right now but I would absolutely endorse everything said about Pete Skjold here. I was stupid enough to sell my whaleback 6 but it was an exceptional bass and Pete's time and support by email and phone are second to none (I hadn't even bought the bass new). He is definately a premier builder with a profile much lower than perhaps it should be. This will no doubt be a great instrument and anyone looking for a modern J bass in this price range could do much much worse IMO. Glwts -
All, I've no affiliation with this person but a stolen basschat.co.uk is never good news, please keep your eyes open... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10152295874271571&id=730871570&comment_id=10152295874591571&ref=m_notif¬if_t=comment_mention&actorid=730871570

Janek is a great guy to deal with. He's a good communicator and replies promptly which I always feel helps any trades go smoothly. I've just bought his mayones fretless from him and whilst UPS messed us around a little I never had any concerns about the outcome of the deal. The bass arrived in immaculate condition, first class packing. Janek is also very generous with his time sharing info about his bass playing experiences. Overall an asset to the forum and another BCer how you can confidently deal with.
