  1. Past hour
  2. We have a band in our area dedicated to playing just prog covers, the band is made up from the cream of the crop musicians in the area, they only do a few gigs a year and they are always rammed with punters and a lot of local musicians seeing how it’s done, the musicians in the band play in mostly high end corporate party bands on a regular basis.
  3. I’m still not sure how this site works, or if you can see my Thunderbirds and EB’s etc., but here’s some more.
  4. Indeed, but this appears not to be.
  5. Not traditional covers band in what way?!
  6. Funny you should say this…. have been in a very generic ‘jukebox’ covers band, good musicians, very competent, ok gigs. Accidentally (long story) have formed a Hendrix tribute (not an easy thing to do until you meet the right guitarist!) and the gigs have come pouring in.
  7. Known PJB for years - but - first time I’ve bought something. He sent it me to try - I won’t have opportunity and begrudgingly allowed me to pay him because I didn’t want him hanging on until my next rehearsal. A lovely Ashdown pre pedal for acoustic
  8. Better check this: https://www.zero-mod.com/models.html
  9. By the power of Grayskull...
  10. In case this weren’t obvious, as this is a MIDI device, you can trigger it with anything that sends MIDI note data, so that even includes footpedal controllers such as the Morningstar stuff.
  11. Selling due to vets bills and being mainly IEM at the mo. I bought in 2020 from Bass Direct pre-owned. Great condition, largely stayed at home under the cover. Probably pick up only, I travel up and down the A1 from St Neots to London a lot so possible drop off. I’m willing to post if I can find a reasonable box at cost. Hot cover and markbass wedge included. I have some packing materials would just need to source a suitable box, so happy to discuss shipping.
  12. One left hand tip that I found helpful when starting out on DB is not to squeeze the string down against the fingerboard - as @Burns-bass says, the thumb is just a guide and you should be able to get a usable note without your thumb even touching the back of the neck (not saying you'll ever actually do this when playing normally of course). To achieve this, you need to use the weight of your arm and your shoulder muscles to pull the string down, rather than your hand muscles. I also recommend starting with the Simandl fingering method - you can modify it later but it's a good way to get your hand shape sorted out initially.
  13. Best bedroom/ practice amp you can get, drum machine, effects, tuner. What’s not to like. Good luck with the sale x
  14. Starting to get the hang of it, my 1964 Thunderbird II, 1965 Embassy Deluxe and 1965 non reverse Thunderbird II.
  15. I’m still struggling with working out what buttons to push, good job I’m not flying a bomber, I’d be dangerous.👍
  16. Here are some of my EB’s, trying to work my way round this site.

    Me….

There’s me thinking to myself, “What?” Then there was the sound of a penny dropping from and great height (and probably bouncing ).
  18. All very true thanks buddy! Quite surprised this is still here as when I was looking for one they were sold used for not much less and very quickly? Not least as this "New" I only had a quick noodle on it to hear the effects both mains and battery so can confirm it does everything Roland promise! Gaucho
  19. Very nice , never tried one but always wanted to
