  2. Indeed, as have any number of brands of "miracle cure-all" sprays. There is nothing worse than cleaning up all the additional damage caused by the willy-nilly use of such substances by those who received their electronics education via the internet. Also, these sprays can damage plastic components, some plastics (including wire insulation) can become very brittle from exposure to this stuff.
  3. Thanks @lurksalot Oh, and no certificate required ta on my part, spare yourself the time 😊
  4. Wish I had the cash for this. A 🇨🇦 dingwall for the price of a new NG2/NG3!! GLWTS
  5. We're gonna need to map an ancestry of it 😜 Who ordered it brand new?!
  6. Stan Lawrence is a very competent service professional. He may be a little more expensive than an average technician, but I would also suggest that in this case you get (more than) what you pay for.
  7. Those drivers have some SIMILARITIES to the Beta drivers but may in fact have very different performance and tuning parameters. This is why it was recommended to take the original cabinet dimensions and cut them in half, splitting the port area (same length) between each new cabinet. This way you don't need to know the driver's parameters and are using the work that Ashdown did when designing the original cabinet.
  8. Cool, that gives us 51 weeks to get something done 😁
  9. Just bought this Amp for a complete song. ( Dont ask the final price, you will be appalled …..I gave the guy more than the final eBay listing settled on cos of my remorse for the eBay victory) I’m thinking this looks very early (1980-1981?) it has just been serviced & PATested and sounds utterly wonderful. Any ideas of vintage? model : AH250G serial : 2225 Thanks for looking!
  10. Bit Strong! Just cos ya can't use ya little box thingy... 🤣
  11. Well then, with what amounts to a near runaway victory in these parts, we have a resounding outright July win for @Chiliwailer a well supported month with some great material and a worthy winner. With the formalities nearly complete ( I need to do the certificate) we will crack on with his choice of inspiration for us ... "It's summer, and if it were possible I know where I'd rather be right now.... I hope you all also find this image of trekking in Yellowstone Park inspiring." ✅ Entries must be <5 minutes and recorded between now and the deadline. ❌ No illegal samples, copyright infringements or other snide goings-on ❌ No Bagpipes, Please, I think they would get eaten by the grizzleys. ❌ No voting for your own entry. We'll know. And we'll shame you.. Deadline-wise, we will go for Midnight on the 24th July ... Which in reality, means an early one on the 25th , unless I'm away on my holidays! A line or two of blurb as usual for the vote thread will be super duper smashing lovely. Good luck, Have fun
  12. I would think so, they are the same scale length. I don't know for certain though...
  13. All prices reduced by £5 and delivery to UK included. I made space on my pedal board for an HX One. It replaced my Xotic Bass RC Booster and the pedal I thought I'd never sell, my Creation Audio Grizzy. So I now have 5 pedals sitting around doing not a lot and a hankering for a Stomp Creation Audio Grizzly. £135 Flattley Poison Ivy Fuzz £85 Black Country Custom The 85 Octave £80 Xotic Bass RC Booster £60 TC Electronics 3rd Dimension Chorus £20 All in top condition. In fact the 85, 3rd Dim and Flattely are like new. All boxed except for the Grizzly (I will keep looking). Velcro'd as per the photos. Peter

  14. To paraphrase Sir Bob: You gaze into the doorway Of temptation's angry flame And every time you pass that way You'll always hear your name... (and I could be in Manchester some time soon...)
  15. eBay, I think. I measured the distance between the strap button and the top of the bass, then from that edge to the bridge. I think it was for a guitar, but it works perfectly...
  16. Now £430! Here's my Markbass cab up for sale. It is in near new condition and includes a Roqsolid cover. The top carpet has a couple of indents where the amp was placed on it. Other than that minor sign of normal use it's as new. It has been used several times at rehearsal at very low volume levels and at one gig where it was only used as a monitor as I was going through the PA. It is a great cab. A real one cab solution weighing approximately 18Kg or 40lbs. I'm 70, under 11 stone, have osteoporosis and have suffered a spinal fracture and I'm happy to lug it around. Specs briefly are 2 x 12" ceramic speakers 600 watts Piezo switchable tweeter with 2 levels of attenuation 57.8 x 60 x 47 cm https://www.markbass.it/product/mb58r-122-p-4/ Tone is very Markbass, i.e. effective. Collection or meet up only. I'm in Kendal, Lake District, NW England.

  17. You've posted on a public part of the forum. Anyone can read without joining. Including the CEOs, lawyers and anyone else goggling Pirate recording studios. Be wary and careful that what you post is accurate...
  18. I bought this to use as a backup whilst my old amp was being serviced. It’s a superb little unit. Bought new recently and rehearsed and gigged a couple of times since. Works as it ought to and is very powerful. I used it through my 8ohm cab and it was loud and punchy. It’s got some cosmetic surface scratches on the top but nothing terrible. Boxed with mains lead and manual (I think). I can post in the UK. PayPal please.

  19. I do think the full story gives a different perspective. Having used Pirate in the past and only stopped because they closed the local studio it rings true. Bear in mind a remote alarm will include the location so someone anywhere on the planet can review the CCTV and if it shows someone vaping under the alarm before it triggers and there are no other alarms then it's reasonable to assume it's a false alarm.
  20. I don’t know if this is relevant Chris, but I had a J-Tone once with CS Jazz pickups and it was great, but when I used it with Fralin dual-coil Jazz pickups the preamp couldn’t handle it and was popping and clicking when I dug in. I spoke to John, but he said he had no idea what the issue was 🤷🏻‍♂️
  21. I can attest that these are great little cabs. If you run one with something a little more pokey than the Elf, then they really come into their own. They really can take some heat and do sound very nice. It's also rather cheap! Rob
  22. Fane Sovereign 8” Speaker 225 watts 8 ohms. Excellent driver fitted briefly whilst my Yamaha speaker was being reconed. Great for bass or PA use. Boxed. Postage possible for an extra £5 - UK only.
  23. Without specs you can't model the result to compare them. However, at 1.8mm xmax the Delta 10B (B stands for 16 ohm) was not a bass driver. It was intended for PA tops that weren't run much below 100 Hz.
  24. Today
  25. Very close to mine which i picked up off here a number of months ago. Beautiful bass, I hope it serves you well 🙂
