  3. I thought the first post was a complete over-reaction and someone blowing up over a delay in getting into a studio, and losing their temper on the support line. 1st world problem. I thought Meta referred to a 'Karen' style rant on Facebook.
  4. Hydrasynth Explorer top, modal argon 8x and my old but solid studiologic sl880 keyboard . Picked up an alesis sr18 drumbox yesterday.
  5. I may have missed deleted posts, but from what I’ve read I’m pretty clear where the problem started, pretty clear how it should have been dealt with by the business, and pretty clear that it wasn’t. IMO other factors were caused by these, not causal in themselves
  6. Very different and great sounding, thanks for sharing. I had an 8 string once, love another bite of the cherry. Hmmm...
  7. I don't know - reading the posts from both sides, I don't see anyone being covered in glory here.
  8. Very kind indeed, thank you. PM incoming
  9. I was about to suggest you tell your sound engineer where to stick it, but after reading @Silvia Bluejay 's reply, I have decided against it. As you were.

    Cabinet Plans

A further bit update. I got an email back from Ashdown and they appear to be quite helpful. Rather than email anything they are going to give me a call, hopefully next week. For a company that is not getting anything, revenue wise, from this I'm really impressed. My background is as an electronics engineer before I retired, I stared off in comms and ended up in IT, so I understand that you can't just throw a speaker into any size of box and expect it to perform well. So off to do some research I went. Now I know that "a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing" but I had a go. Assuming that, as many think, these are Eminence Beta 10-B's, or a derivative of them, I checked the enclosure specs for them on the Eminence website, copy attached. Although the enclosure size and that of the BC110T are close, there is a difference in port numbers and size. I hate to ask for help, but can someone comment on these differences. Could I continue to use the port specified in the BC110T or should I go for the ones recommended in the attached. One further point. Initially I am just going to install the driver, and not the horn. My plan is to go step by step and assess performance one change at a time. Thats the engineer in me. Thanks again
  11. OK so I grabbed the Modal on sale or return and it does sound lovely. Fatar keybed is excellent. However some of the peripherals like the usb (type B !) seem a bit shoddy. It's by no means as solid and user friendly as the Hydrasynth. Will report further as I get into it, but the Yamaha MOX FX6 might have been a more sensible punt. Time to resist keyboard G.A.S !! Already got an improvised stereo rig (trace elliot ra300 ha ha) JOdeV
  12. Brand new, literally tried on my bass for about 10 minutes and removed as I prefer my existing strap £30 posted to a UK address
  13. Bought a month or two back on the forum on the back of rave reviews about it being a super effective compressor with other bells and whistles ("The only bass pedal you need" on YouTube etc). However, after a recent splurge on Trace Elliott items I now have both an amp and main preamp that have good 2-band compressors, so I don't need this pedal any more. It's in great condition and comes with box etc. £160 posted UK or will knock a tenner off for collection in SW13 (Barnes). FYI, new price is £210-220 Photo is a bit rubbish but happy to post more. Here's the previous owner's ad with his pics: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/513092-sold-jhs-pulp-n-peel-v4-preamp-di-compressor-and-od/#comment-5490901
  14. Problem is, before they cut and run as the profits dry up, they put all the traditional studios out of business, then all of a sudden there’s no rehearsal spaces, and we’re worse off than the old model where we might have to make a phone call, deal either real people, and pay a little more. This is the case with studios, music shops, venues, you name it. We as musicians need to think about the future of music as we save a few quid and save a few seconds
  15. Selling this Micro Fuzz from Kong. Comes with a blend Knob so no lowend loss. 2 types of fuzz, “bass” side is more of a vintage germanium type, the “treble” side is a trebly fuzz. In as new condition, never mounted on a pedalboard nor gigged. £30 posted within mainland UK.

  20. First rule of PR, don’t argue with customers Second rule of PR, defo don’t argue with customers when you’ve already lost the argument Third rule of PR, if you’re stupid enough to break Rules 1 and 2, apologise sharpish Most bands using Pirate will have a bass player, there’s a 70% chance that bass player is a member here. Do the math 👍
  21. He'd only been playing bass for a year when I Want You Back was recorded? Wow!! That's almost given me a complex.I know how I sounded after a year in and it wasn't like that 😄
  22. Coldstream Guards play "Paranoid"... https://www.facebook.com/share/r/19L5yQ9HyM/
  23. I think all of the Black Sabbath members have had something of a reinvention in recent times. If the stark reality of the hedonistic exploits of their heyday was laid bare and judged by the morality of the present day, I think they wouldn't be so accepted by the mainstream. I've said this before but it's a bit surreal to me as someone who's been a Sabbath fan since the 1970's to see how they've become part of the establishment and are now (rightly) seen as one of Britain's greatest cultural exports. It was unthinkable forty years ago that Ozzy's eventual death would garner such blanket media coverage and widespread public displays of grief. Sabbath used to be wild, inaccessible and mysterious. I preferred it that way.
