I think the early passion guitars had Vigier’s own bridge and locking term. Around the time the Arpege had its own proprietary bridge.

I bloody hope not. I'd better screenshot the ad but this is what it says. I'd liketo see a DMX controller with 12 bulbs with an 8deg output angle. Maybe I've posted the wrong link.

Here’s a Gotoh 404SJ-4 four string bass bridge in gold. Bought it a while back to replace another bridge but never got round to fitting it. Boxed and with fitting screws. The box says it’s chrome for some reason. There’s a few marks, mainly on the back (the bit that’s against the body) but the saddles, screws etc are all in really good condition. I can’t remember what I paid for it, but they seem to go for £50ish online, so how does £30 including UK postage sound.

Joyo Actone pedal, purchased new about a year ago if I recall correctly, to emulate a valve sound which I was after at the time. Used a few times at home and then put back in box. Decent little pedal emulating a Vox AC30. Takes batteries or standard Boss-style 9v adaptor. Perfect condition and boxed. £15 including UK postage sounds about right.

Shadow SH2001 transducer pickup and cable. Bought this on Basschat ages ago for some project that never happened and it’s been packed away in the drawer ever since. It’s a stick-on pickup and lead. German made. Not sure if it’s meant to have sticky pads to attach to instrument - it didn’t come with any and I always just used a tiny square of double-sided tape to attach it. £15 posted in the UK sound about right?

How do you get on with the JHS Colour Box on bass? I've been considering that or the Crayon for something different from the usual American amps. I have tried an IR of it on the ToneX One, low gain.
-
Zoom B3 or B3n - the B3n has the advantage of being easier to switch patches. You can also edit patches on a PC which is quite simple to do.

And maybe ask on the other part of BassChat, which is GuitarChat as it's a guitar... 😉 Had a few many many many moons ago, and IIRC they all had Kahler tremolos.

I've been carrying a spare mixer for our band for several years, but it has no built-in FX. A new band member is very keen on reverb so I am looking for solutions to fit between the back up mixer and the back up amp. My outline spec is: Dc and/or battery powered Clean sounding Small Cheap? Would something like a Behringer DR600 reverb pedal work, or a kit based on the PT2399, or should I be looking at something completely different? David

bassbiscuits started following Daddario EXL160M brand new

Clearing out my drawer - i realise I have an unopened pack of D’Addario EXL160M medium scale nickel round wounds. I bought for my MIJ Mustang as they are the correct length to string thru the body. 50-105 at medium scale felt about the same tension to me as 105-45 on a long scale. Box is tatty but the packet inside is unopened. £12 delivered in the UK any good?

Sad news but a life very well lived. A truly astounding musician. I had the privilege of hearing him play in an amazing concert at the Barbican in 2016. If you haven’t yet heard him, please do yourselves a favour and have a listen. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/sep/14/hermeto-pascoal-brazilian-jazz-musician-the-sorcerer-dies https://youtube.com/@hermetopascoaloficial?si=F21_RUHpWbcsI6uH

No worries. I did try it without cab blocks, but felt it lacked a certain “Je ne sais quoi”, it’s diffult to put your finger on it. That said, I notice most of the effect and/or the amp blocks seem to have a smooth response at the top end, almost as if they have a high cut already applied. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one scratching my head over the I/O gain. I kinda feel the input needs to be pushed a little more - it would certainly explain why the compressors seem a bit unresponsive - I’m having to crank the input on hte luminal FET compressor. I never really though about it with my Helix, I just added blocks to get the tones I wanted. The resulting signal is bit hotter than going in, but that's just the way they turned out. The Anagram blocks seem to naturally sit at unity gain. Furthermore, the main volume knob on the helix is cut only. I have detached it from the XLR outputs so that FOH get full volume. I'm a little confused with the Anagram's mixer block. I would assume leaving the XLR outputs at 0db would be "unity", but it also has a master volume control that I don't really see the point of. I notice you can unlink the different output from the master volume. I assume that unlinking will achieve the same as disabling the Helix's volume knob. Like you, I need to investigate this further. I haven't been able to A/B these at volume yet, and I'm not likely to before the next gig.

Yes one is qty and one is quantity. Not dodgy at all 🤔

Looking and sounding very smart, sir. Nice job!

So that could vary from just a DI box to tone shaping and effects to all of that and I want in ear. However, none of that in essence is difficult. If you like the sound of your bass and need nothing else, buy a DI. If you want tone shaping you'll need a Zoom/Stomp/pedals then DI. If you want one of those and IEM then you'll need two outputs, DI and IEM, and it's more complicated and more money. Btw, a cheap and reliable way to do iem.. instead of using a wireless system (expensive, flakey, black magic), I use a wired system (cheap, reliable not voodoo). I run a physical cable to a headphone amp on my belt to my in ears.

Not a bad show that, if lacking in bottom end generally - thanks for showing your wares, quality over quantity! And yes, one hell of a bassist you had hanging around the stand - definitely hankering for a mustang now…
