  1. Past hour
  2. Unfortunately, this is my view. How will you feel if it turns out to be a serious medical diagnosis and the guy is struggling to process it?
  3. I'll try to remember to tell him... He'll probably work it out though, he's pretty clever...
  4. Lots of great answers above, few of which I'd challenge, but my personal approach would be closest to @Hellzero on this subject. I've been in this situation more than once, and I just ask them back, "Do you want the polite, supportive answer or what I really think?". The easily offended will change the subject at this point, which is fine with me. Those who actually want to know are happy to dive into a deep technical conversation where we talk about high mids and volume levels and guitarists who are complete w*****s.
  5. As long as you remember to keep your mouth shut.
  6. If I was after a Bongo but couldn't afford or didn't want a new one then then the £900 that those Sterling version costs is a major chunk of money towards a used example of the real thing or something else a bit more inspiring than a bass which essentially only has the appearance of a Bongo. I'm sure this bass is okay, EBMM don't put their name to poor products, but it's not cheap enough to be cheerful and it's not cheerful enough to be £900. £599 would be a different proposition, but even then I'd probably be looking to get a Sire rather than one of these.
  7. Now thats an idea...
  8. I had a ‘72 and that is a doppelgänger 👍
  9. Maybe you could share for bashes with people transporting it around? We’d have to find a way to repay you for the investment though
  10. You could fasten him to the front grille bin-lorry style? you’d have to do that or he’ll wreck your house whilst you’re gone
  11. Smart move Rob. That would also get you the 'furthest travelled' award this year.
  12. Very keen to hear the feedback (particularly on pitch up swells).
  13. David Thanks for this. We'll work it out one way or another, if all else fails I'll leave @neepheid here and use his seat for the cabs. Rob
  14. Just ordered 4 lengths on behalf of the Bash for delivery tomorrow.
  15. They’re only making 12
  16. La Bella 760FX Flatwound Strings Used for approximately 4 hours. Cut for Fender style head. £30 including postage.
  17. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  18. Significantly better tone here.
  19. The guy who worked on that body needs some stripes
  20. Nice one! And the good thing about your pedal purchases is that they're usually followed by some decent video footage! Looking forward to it - if this thing can pitch shift with tight tracking and lack of glitch-iness (I guess the best test is playing intervals with the clean sound underneath?) then its baby bro the XS-1 is getting added to my (growing, haha) "must buy soon" pedal list! Currently no video footage with bass as far as I can see - all guitar clips. So could be a world premiere for you, as an incentive! 😉
  21. https://www.premierguitar.com/news/ns-design-unveils-new-carbon-fiber-fin-guitar-and-bass $9500 USD, no thanks.
  22. That can't be right? 😅
  23. I also have enquired for the price... 🤦🏻🤔🤪
  24. So I’m looking for a new job… that pays more … and then maybe, maybe … fcuk I sound like @AndyTravis now 😛 If only I didn’t have a decent five string jazz a like …
  25. Thanks Dave, There was no special event to support the gig. Just us, no advertising and we can't pull a crowd on our own in Milwaukee. Dave, it was bad. Daryl
