  1. Past hour
  2. Cheers Bas. Yeah, I didnt mean I thought I needed the case for it to work, just that it's not a feature I care for. We have loads of USB C ports with us so if I need a top up im already covered. Id rather not pay for something go dont use. I too am a fan of the Xvive, I still use my 2.4ghz system at home sometimes, although I do find I get quite a few dropouts. It's well made and compact. The A58's seem to be a good upgrade but I dont see much written about them.
  3. Updated pics to show: *Swapped the castors/wheels to slightly bigger but much better quality set. Easier to move without trolley. * Resprayed spk ‘mount’ face (from white to black) using high quality/tough product as the white paint was flaking a bit. This has improved the look and protection. Loaned recently a fellow bass player (who was in a spot) and he raved about the quality of this combo. Actually said it had ‘better’ tonal options than his beloved Mark bass separates🤫🤐🤷🏾‍♂️😎 Shamelessly bumped for more views…
  4. Big and heavy!!!
  5. just ordered a WS-70 off Aliexpress, for some reason the amount was down to £8.36 by the time I paid for it, I'm wondering what the catch is 😂
  6. Hadn't come across the Xvive A58 - looks like new kit out this year with good reviews. I'm a fan of their U4 for IEM's. They do look quite bulky though! Btw - if you don't want to take the Nux case to gigs, there's nothing's stopping you leaving it at home - it's just there for convenience and doubles up as a back up battery pack. It's also available in 5.8 GHz.
  7. I've edited that post as I have no experience of Entwistles so can't confirm if they're adjustable or just for show, best message them to confirm. I think Retrovibe also do adjustable J pickups.
  8. Thanks Lemmy. The Entwhistle pickups are particularly cheap, definitely worth considering!
  9. Bought a brand new RH750 about 5 years ago after seeing good reviews and being very pleased with my Classic 450. After two gigs the knobs fell off (known issue) and now after only a handful of gigs ( use iem and no amp 95 percent of time) it lost power and sounds like 30w if that. Yes it had been cared for and carried on a padded case etc etc. Looking at comments now suggest it was never 750w anyway and many reports of unreliability. TC have now discontinued the range and probably with good reason, ruined their reputation to me, would avoid TC products, shame as they used to be world beaters. Terrible customer service, well zero as they never respond 😂.
  10. All J pickups should have adjustable pole pieces IMO, been a few times where I've struggled with the A on a 5 string. Btw if the pole pieces on your existing pickups extend down below the bobbin base you may be able to tap them up to create a radius, I did this on my old Nordstrands (after getting the go ahead from the company) and it worked a treat. Entwistle pickups look to be adjustable if you're after for a cheap but good option, again I'd message them and check: https://entwistlepickups.com/alan-entwistle-bass-guitar-pickups/
  11. There’s not really any point in further comments until you post a clear picture of the setup. It will be helpful to see a clear, top-down, image so that we can trace the cabling etc. Si
  12. Probably one everybody knows but for tapping out tuner ferrules/bushings a suitable sized socket from a socket set is ideal.
  13. Spirit of Vintage now £44 (+ £10 postage) at Thomann
  14. Chocolate Girl - Deacon Blue
  15. Ah awesome, that’ll be where I picked that up from then - I’ve never really looked into one before, but have been on the lookout for a Streamer Jazzman 5 which is the same pickup config on a different body shape, will definitely give this some consideration
  16. I've ordered the Artec now, ETA 12th Aug, will let you know how I get on. 👍
  17. The Taranis 4 is BEAD, the 5 is a normal 5 string tuning.
  18. China Girl - Bowie
  19. Is this setup normal tuning? I’d always had in my head that these are tuned down and run F#-B rather than B-G but I might be wrong or you may have set yours up differently?
  20. That's why I took it to my technician, who I've a good and long relationship with - she recommended changing the pickups and I'm happy to go with that I'll look into the DP123BK you mentioned though - as well as being locally available they're a chunk cheaper.
  21. We once, when reattaching a radiator that had fallen off the wall, had to use a screw so long that we went through the wall into the next room.
