  3. It wouldn't bother 'me' unduly if it was a keeper, but if I wanted to re-sell I could see why it would bother potential buyers. So for that reason I'd return it.
  4. Those Boba Fuzz pedals are fantastic, it's a 1:1 clone of the Zvex Mammoth with an added mids control on the Body dial. Looks like Vinnie's knocked his eBay shop on the head as well so there's no new ones available
  5. Aston SwiftShield portable acoustic isolation screen, ideal for improving recordings in untreated rooms. Great for vocals, voiceover work, podcasts, or acoustic instruments. Foldable, lightweight, and very easy to position on a mic stand. Helps reduce room reflections and background noise, giving you a tighter, more controlled sound when recording at home. Brand new in box £30 Postage at cost (around £10 UK) Collection available in / around Edinburgh.

  6. No box or manual. Some cosmetic wear as expected for a used pedal, but it functions exactly as it should. £50 Postage: ~£10 UK at cost Collection available in / around Edinburgh.
  7. I didn't even know where it was - but it was there!
  8. Bought Paddy's MXR Bass Synth pedal from him and the transaction couldn't have been easier. Superb communication throughout, super quick delivery and brilliantly packed. Paddy is great to deal with and an absolute pleasure. Many thanks.
  9. Very good condition BOSS RC-3 looper, lightly used and in full working order. Comes with original box and manual. Velcro on the base, but otherwise very tidy. £100 Happy to meet in / around Edinburgh, or can post for around £10 UK at buyer’s cost.

  10. Having been a member for some years, and posted a few time, I know I've never really introduced myself, so here goes. I started playing bass in the 60's, playing for quite a few years till family and work took over. I played in cover bands in and around Essex and East London and fr a while I became a pro. As some may have seen from my previous posts, I recently returned to playing bass in my seventh decade and found that the the world of amps and cabs had changed since the time of my Hiwatt and 4x12 cabs. Being bereft of gear, with little income aside from my pension, I set about sorting out something to ply, and play through. I'd sold my early Mustang some years ago but still had a no name bass that I'd done some work on. However having been a short scale player in the past I set about looking for something reasonable in both quality and cost to use. As far as guitars went, my first new purchase was an Ibanez Talman TMB30, an OK bass but a little too heavy for my damaged shoulder, so I bought a Hofner Shorty, then a Gretsch G2220 Junior Jet whilst at the same time putting together a custom (homemade) short scale P style bass. More recently I've added a Squier Bronco and swapped out the PU for a 9.5K one from Toltec. I've recently crossed over to the dark side and picked up a Squier Jazz bass, which I have found that, even with my arthritic left hand I can play OK and have decided that I'll stay with it. The Ibanez and Hofner have gone and the Bronco will go, leaving just the Gretsch and Jazz, along with the homemade P. I also have a Squier Base VI. I also have a couple of Yamaha acoustics, an FG335 from the 70's that I bought new and an FG 12 string I picked up recently. These sit alongside a Squier Strat which I've swapped the PU's on. Amp wise, along the way I picked up a couple of Laney Richter combos, an RB5 and an RB8, not realising that in the intervening years since I last played either amps have got heavier of I've got weaker so a rethink was needed if I was going to continue to play. The RB5 will sit under the desk in my home studio but the RB8 has to go. For cabinets I've recently built 2 Basschat 110 cab's using Eminence drivers from an old Ashdown 210 cab which have impressed me with both their capabilities and light weight. Not wanting to give up old school totally I've also built a 1x15, again with an Eminence driver, based on a ported compact design. I've yet to finish this so not sure how it will sound. Finally today a Fane 8" driver arrived so I can build a 1x8 Basschat cab. My thanks to Phill Starr and everyone else for the designs, support and advice that you all have provided and offered. I'll add some images later. David
  11. Yep, Think I will need to use a standard template and make a custom Pickguard. It's crying out for a Tele pickguard 😄
  12. Rest assured that any changes that Graham ( early adopter and pioneer of the 5 string!) has made will have been well executed/ well thought out and will have improved on the original bass. As ever, very fairly priced...I got great use out of the G&L I bought from Graham prior to switching to short scale, GLWTS

  14. Bit of a poor show given that it's their name on the headstock (well, not quite 😉). The wood selections on most Corts (thinking A, B series) always looked nicely done to me. B stock batch perhaps?
  15. Oh yes... I missed the Ozrics
  16. After trying it again with both my amps I’ve decided it’s going back for sure . It was a good pedal but added very little that a decent EQ pedal could provide me with what I’m trying to achieve
  17. still sounds new to me 40 years on
  18. Today
  19. Bump for Peggy, my biggest influence and a thoroughly decent chap. I’d also like to nominate Mick for Basschat librarian/archivist.
  20. Not with that lower cut away being right down to the end of the fretboard.
  21. Not may Tele type basses on the market with a p pickup for that price so worth a shot!
  22. Nigel Price organ trio ( Nigel’s a great guitarist) Vanilla Fudge
