  1. Past hour
  2. That's nice and big, but unfortunately I have no idea which I'm supposed to "get" from this image...
  3. Got myself a keyboard off Dan. No hassle whatsoever, well packed, top Comms and a canny fella. Many thanks.
  4. I'm listening to Planet Rock's top 500 songs of all time. Very interesting as some songs would be far higher up my top 500, Chuck Berry "Johhny B Goode" for one and whilst I like Halestorm, somewhat surprised it's in the top 500 at all. Led Zepp - No quarter is also way down the list. At the time of writing we're down to number 420 or so. I'm going to have a think and before Thursday predict my top 10. Not my top 10, but what I think will be the top 10. Rob
  5. Keep it friendly then we won't have to start with the moderating👍
  6. Id put the G&L pickup in it - I dont think they'll be a collectable because theyre not made of the vintage timbers. Still etter than the new Steve Harris Sig.
  7. As new condition. This was for a planned project that never happened. I unpacked it, had a quick trial and then put it back in the box. £70 collected. If you want it posted, cost will be around a fiver.

  8. That's a shame, thanks for letting me know.
  9. Bass hopes for this year: 1. Increase the rate at which I pick music to learn - it's easy to have a set of tracks in rotation and keep going through familiar material expecting it to get better 2. Try to nail down why when I attempt slap all that comes out are harmonics and other strings ringing 3. Do more sight reading, get back to reading music other than my own transcriptions 4. Always know what note is under my finger across the fretboard rather than relying on ear and relative intervals/spatial relationships. 5. Practice always with a metronome 😄 6. Possibly take a few lessons to get some outside perspective on what to focus on
  10. I Need a Doctor - Dr. Dre and Eminem
  11. What year is the Jazz? The series it`s part of can make a fair bit of difference. If the Jazzes follow Precisions in similarity: 2008-12 - very scooped 2013 - 16 - warm, rich bottom end, a tad scooped, and sound very much like Toneriders
  12. Sounds good! Be great if you can make that happen this year! What genres of music are you into and what's the live music scene and opportunities for getting involved in that in Chelmsford?
  13. Probably either May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way by Omnium Gatherum or An Insatiable Violence by Cryptopsy (listener discretion advised on that one). But after a very strong end to 2024 for my specific favourite artists it's been a pretty quiet year for new releases.
  14. Not really - but might depend on what you're offering? One thing that springs to mind, is an EHX Mel9 pedal.
  15. I was the one talking to you on eBay! Shame the head sold without the cab, I'd have taken both quite happily when coming to Cardiff this month.
  16. Gosh, I didn't know Zoe was married. Is he building a loudspeaker as well as me? I'll ask him for advice and see if he can help. She knows I'm building it, but rarely goes down in the cellar. We have a biomass boiler and the hopper has just been filled so even less likely to go down to check on pellets. Just down the last (hopefully) top coat using a cut down textured roller. It looks quite nice, but patchy when wet. I've cut the textured roller down to 2" from 4" to allow it to get between the various sacrificial parts. The Armacab dries very quickly so should be ready to look at this evening. I've learnt a lot about building a cabinet. Lots of things not to do when I build the second one. Rob
  17. Me too, I got a belt after being impressed with the strap quality. It’s way better than any leather belt I’ve ever bought from a shop

  19. I'm not surprised to see in this thread that it sounds great at the time to play whilst stoned, but that the recordings tell a different story... Personally, I would rarely even have alcohol when performing, and certainly nothing else whatsoever, as full concentration is required. When I was an undergraduate there was plenty of stoned playing around, though. I recall a popular singer who claimed he could never remember the lyrics unless he'd had "a couple of pints and a bucket," which is presumably the condition in which he spent most of his time. A local rehearsal studio was run by a chap who dealt pot as a sideline so there were usually jazz woodbines being passed around.
