simple multitrack recording software for Android
Wombat replied to mcnach's topic in General Discussion
I have cubasis which I got for £12 when there was a sale. I can’t say it’s ’unreliable’ but I’ve only really use it to ‘note down’ ideas for songs. I just bought a cable, not an interface, so can only record one track at a time. So, for me, ‘it does what I expect without any problems’. The added bonus is that it works very much like Cubase that I use on PC. -

Looking for recommendations for a simple multitrack recording app, for a tablet running Android. It doesn't have to be free, I do not mind paying for an app if it does what I need, but I'm NOT a fan of subscription models so I'd rather avoid those but I'd still consider them (it depends on the actual monthly fee to some extent). Cubasis LE looks nice and familiar, £25 outright buy, but the reviews are very mixed about its reliability. BandLab looks decent, but the free version has so many ads that I gave up testing more than a few minutes, and you can't just buy it, it's a subscription model. I don't recall the price but I remember thinking it was more than I was willing to pay per month. I tried another "Wave..." something, but it had the same issue with the ads making testing very tedious (waiting 30 seconds watching a video at seemingly every other click on the menu) and the subscription not attractive enough without having being able to test it well. The closest software I know must be n-track, which looks like it can still be bought outright for around £30, but I am interested to see if there's anything else out there. My needs are very simple, this is just to quickly record ideas/sketch songs, no no need for deep mixing capabilities or FX etc... simple record, volume and gain, pan and if there's some basic EQ I'm happy.

This Trace Elliot ELF never ceases to amaze me!!!!
ossyrocks replied to Mike Bungo's topic in Amps and Cabs
I think you'll love the Three10 Paul. The Elf is noticeably better through multiple speakers at 4ohms. I've not yet had to use it on a bigger gig, but I do have confidence that it would get me through a gig, any gig in fact. I have used it as the main amp in small rooms with a jazz band and a funk band, and in the huge cavernous space in Lancaster Priory. On the Priory gig it was DI'd, and the engineer was very happy with the DI it provided. Rob -
I have to say that my Monza is not lacking in any way. It is a very early one and still rocks my socks.

I wonder what the price was on each of the previous occasions? It's now £6k, which is quite a wedge up here in the frozen north. Rob

Ive just ordered a THREE10 this morning, cant wait. On the ELF, I was thinking of buying one purely as a back up just in case amp should the main valve amp suffer a fault. Are these really that good? Just for stage noise, the main sound is DI to a PA -

I use TI flats in a Foo Fighters tribute, absolutely works wonderfully. Flats can 100% rock hard with nice lows and the mids really cut with the TI's. I use Daddario Half Rounds on my Rippers with a Nirvana Tribute too.

It’s the third time I’ve seen this for sale.

So, used this on my gig last Sunday. Loved the way it tightened up my sound, but found that the harmonic distortion didn’t sound great through the PA so switched it off for the gig. Could just be my eq in the PA but, thanks to a delay at the Tyne Tunnel, I didn’t have time to iron this out. Further experimentation required, but overall very happy with this very musical compressor.

My band played in Malta earlier this year and because I hate flying they got our new guitarist to play bass. He has his Aerodyne Jazz strung with Fender flats, and through his Sansamp it sounded great. So flats can work well in garage punk/rock, it just seems that I can never manage it myself. What I liked was the solid low end but without booming and overtones.
