  2. I'm thinking the bass may be the culprit here. That BF cab will put out pretty much exactly what you put in and it doesn't have a tweeter so shouldn't be too clangy. The MarkBass head can definitely do warm bassy traditional sounds. I'm not too sure about the TC head as I've never heard one. You've also come from an Ashdown amp which is really good at old school gooey sounds so you'll be kind of used to that - they're nowhere near as clear and exposing as the BF cab. But you've got 2 active basses which are both pretty modern sounding and it sounds like you want an old school 50s, 60s, 70s sound. They'll both struggle to get there I think. See if you can borrow a P bass or passive single pickup bass of some sort without new strings on it, turn the tone down and see if that gets you closer.
  3. I'm selling my Sterling Stingray. I bought it here on BC three years ago and although I love it I'm just not playing it so it's time to find it's new owner. It's had mostly light home use since I've had it, I've only ever done 3 or 4 gigs on it. There are three tiny marks on the paint which are hard to see, aside from that it's in top condition. It's really light, the action is low and it plays like a dream. It's currently strung with D'Addario 35-95s. I also have a white 3ply scratchplate for it, I'll throw that in too. And it comes with a decent Ibanez gig bag as well. I'd rather not get into shipping so it's collection from London N4, or a meet up somewhere convenient. Any question feel free to PM me. Cheers.
  4. MXR M85 bass distortion. Great distortion pedal in good condition. Velcro on the bottom. £90 delivered. Any questions just ask 👍
  5. Road of Bones is a favourite of mine although I haven't heard it in a while. I will have a look at it.
  6. Placeholder...
  7. Inspired as we all are by alien music, I created this short piece in Canis Minor, building sounds on synths that portray typical sounds heard during alien encounters, including deep low bass. All dynamics have been removed to capture and portray the natural sound, feel and anxiety of being probed in a busy alien space craft hospital.
  8. Road of Bones is a classic Prog album IMO. Up there with Seconds Out. Dave
  9. Superb stuff Rob. I used to go see them in Glasgow on a Sat afternoon. They would play Echoes, Suppers Ready and I Know What i Like then add in some of their own songs. I remember buying a tape of the album and have been buying them on and off over the years. We even managed to persuade them to play our local pub gig at The Heathery bar which at the time was the biggest "pub" gig in UK holding 250-300 people if i remember correctly. Hugely popular band up here in Scotland. Unfortunately the singer Euan left which was a shame as he used to appear with all the Genesis style costumes. Just a fantastic group of musicians. Great to see them on your page. Dave
  10. Nice. Never Say Die vibes.
  11. Do they want carved top or plywood double basses? I hope they want open notes...
  12. I guess so... my knowledge is limited, but I'm assuming the Fender app does what I've seen Garageband do. I'd like to find something less mind blowing than Reaper.
  13. Ah but will the bassists all be playing the same note or some sort of chord/dischord? That's the enigma really
  14. She's currently at Bath Spa Uni on the commercial music course and absolutely loving it. Loads of playing, recording, production as well as a bit of business and all that stuff. She's in five bands now so loads of gigs.
  15. Why do they need 7 double bassists? "THE CALL is a durational performance exploring resilience, identity, and the politics of the body. The work poses the central question ‘Is the body an enabler or an entrapment?’ Rooted in ritual and endurance, Mahsa Salali stands motionless, bearing 20 kilograms of chain, connected to seven double bassists." Obvious really.
  16. Any plans to do any IQ transcriptions Rob? They’re still going strong, having just released another album “Dominion”, their 14th (not including oddities and live archive collection releases).
  17. Offers and part-ex considered!
  18. Caline Pressure Tank compressor, excellent condition with original box. Velcro on the bottom. £25 inc. UK postage.
  19. Excellent condition stereo reverb pedal with Hall/Spring/Room settings. Velcro on the bottom, no box. £25 inc. UK shipping
  20. Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Since acquiring four Precisions and eying up another plus also needing a Jazz, it’s become surplus. I have an addiction at the moment. I admit it. There I’ve said it. I also need an original Barefaced Compact 15 and an original Midget 😂😂😂😂 Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  21. I did indeed and it is a great bass 😁 Its price tag does not reflect how well made it is and how good it sounds either. Both my semi acoustics aren’t being used for the simple reason all my work requires Precisions and something with 22 frets.
  22. That’s a remarkable advert for many reasons.
  23. A nostalgia trip today, this is the Graeme Murray bass part to 'Arrive Alive (Eyes In The Night)' from the 1984 Pallas album, 'The Sentinel'. Just a thumping bass part with enough odd time signatures to justify the 'neo-Prog' title (these guys were running in the same circles as Marillion, IQ, Pendragon, Solstice and Twelfth Night et al). Happy days. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/arrive-alive-eyes-in-the-night-pallas/
  24. Enjoyed this! Nice sound and mix for sure. That bass sounds meaty!
