Very good condition recently taken in p/x but not displacing my current rig, THE EBS MICROBASS II PREAMP IS THE BASS PLAYERS ‘SWISS ARMY KNIFE’. A DI BOX, TWO-CHANNEL PREAMP, WITH SPEAKER SIMULATION, EFFECTS LOOP, PHONES OUTPUT AND LOADS OF OTHER GREAT FEATURES. THIS IS THE ULTIMATE BASS TOOL. PERIOD! Two Channels and A Useful Loop. The MicroBass II can be used as an active direct box, a one or two channel preamp, instrument switcher or blender. The two channels provide sound shaping from high end solid-state types to distorted timbres, using the awarded tube emulation circuitry found in the EBS range of professional bass heads. An incorporated effects loop gives the user added flexibility for connecting to other effect pedals, or for mixing in an external audio source such as a CD player for rehearsal purposes. Unmatched Flexibility. The balanced output with speaker simulator option provides unmatched flexibility in live and studio situations. Footswitches control mute and channel operation/switching. Other features include headphone output, low battery indicator, link and master outputs, bass, ‘sweepable’ midrange, treble, bright and edge filters, drive and effects mix controls. Price includes 1st class postage in UK

When in stock in UK these are £279, so a huge saving and no waiting !!!! Been using this for 12 months and every sound engineer comments on how good my sound/tone is so "What does it do?" Converts 1/4 inch (balanced or unbalanced) to XLR balanced output. Protects from accidental phantom power damage. Transformer isolation allows for ground lifting to kill hum. 1/4 inch outputs allow connection to powered monitor(s). Passive Summing network for 1/4 inch outs for Amp or FRFR XLR Summing mod available (See other listing!) Acts as a patchbay eliminating the need to repatch the board between rehearsal and stage. Keeps signal level high and tone intact. For DSP Guitar Rigs… If you are using FX DSP simulation/load boxes such as the iK Tonex, Kemper Profiler Player, Line 6 HX Stomp, Walrus ACS1, Line 6 HX Effects and are interfacing them in a live situation, you shouldn’t be using a direct box (for impedance matching) but should be using a “line isolator”. These simulators have outputs on ¼ inch connectors but no way to ground lift in the event of ground loop noise. A line isolator won’t drop your signal level like a direct box will, but will maintain the line level while giving the ability to ground lift and eliminate noise when running your guitar signal to the main PA. In addition, transformer isolation insures that Phantom Power from the console never touches the outputs of your FX pedal. Engineered for Pedalboards The DISO-Plus is a 2-channel line isolator box made to integrate with other guitar pedals. It can deliver pure, clean sounds in the studio and it has also passed the toughest test of touring life as well. The two ¼ inch input, two ¼ inch output and two XLR output jacks are mounted on a powder coated, cast aluminum enclosure. A ground lift switch is mounted between the XLR connectors so that it is out of the way and won’t get bumped accidentally. A stereo/mono switch is located near the ¼ inch outputs and actuates a summing network to allow both 1/4 inch L and R signals to be summed to an amp or full range speaker while keeping the XLR outputs in stereo. This allows you to quickly connect a regular guitar amp or powered speaker for monitoring on stage or checking patches before a gig without disconnecting or re-patching anything from your board. Hand-Built with Top Quality Parts The DISO-Plus is all about giving you a clean, clear signal all of the time. We build them one-at-a-time by hand using genuine Jensen Transformers line transformers, high reliability all-metal connectors from Switchcraft and Neutrik and top-shelf sealed switches from Grayhill. It is backed up with a full 3-year warranty. Will include postage to UK or can be collected near York.

Can you believe that this is the first Dave Holland tune I have transcribed this year (the last one was published on New Years Eve)? This is the complete Dave Holland part for the tune 'Miles Ahead' from the 1993 Joe Henderson masterpiece, 'So Near, So Far: Musings For Miles'. One of my all-time favourite albums, I have bought it three times (cassette, CD and download). I know every note on this whole album - it's just perfect. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/miles-ahead-joe-henderson/

I use this method for lead vocals and bass all the time to have different processing out front and in IEMs. If you use a digital mixer that allows you to change the input patching, and if you have a spare channel available, you can use two channels for bass - one channel for FOH, one just for your monitoring. In your mixer’s patching section, simply assign both channels to the same input.

The black and white photo was 2011, I think. I hadn't touched a bass in over 15yrs and realised how awful I'd been. So that would have been the first time I played live. The colour photo is from last weekend. I've had a 7yr 'sabbatical' until last year. As my age increases so does the height of my bass. -

There's obviously a 50s rock n roll theme that two of the band are adhering to. I guess, from your charity shop trolley-dash outfit, you didn't get the memo?

You are right. It has a LPF but doesn’t have a HPF, they put it in the ms-60b which made for bass players. No biggie will and see what happens. I tried the new boss gx-1B in the Roland store in central London. It’s very intuitive to use. They had a mxr phase 90 script modal which was killer. -

I hear you on the SR5 price. Have you ever tried a SBMM Ray35? I recently acquired an early used example and as far as I'm concerned it's a Stingray made in Indonesia and sporting a different headstock logo. I've own EBMM SR5s in the past for reference.

Hello all that are experienced in IEMs Making the move to IEMs I have had some UE 5s made for me , custom moulds. Main bass is a passive Jazz. Sadowsky Pre Amp pedal. EBS amp and cab. If the room is good I tend to get a consistent sound and have used this set up for over 10 years. Main band is mostly IEMs except for me so its time to join in. Its the boomy reflective rooms that are one of the main reasons I'm now going down this route. So far I have found if I roll the passive tone either almost down or off depending on pickup choice the sound in my IEMs is not bad. Very doable. Thing is when I hear live recordings out front and I'm happy with the sound, my passive tone control tends to be well up. The IEMs sound terrible if my passive tone is well up so have I now compromised my happy place sound wise? The monitor gizmo on the tablet lets me eq my own IEM channel and remove the top end but its seems its just not enough roll off Any advice , tips would be greatly appreciated x

2009 SX 70’s Jazz Bass Fretless Project Sale / Exchange
basslondon replied to basslondon's topic in Basses For Sale
I’ve just uploaded additional shots of the fret slots on the neck. As you can see the lower side binding has virtually no interference from the fret removal process. The top side wasn’t quite so lucky …..not totally dreadful by any means but the lower side of the neck is where you would fell any disruption to the surface more so that’s good. Hopefully these additional photos help. -
