  2. Hipshot BT3 Bass Xtender / drop tuner. The BT3 is for pre-cbs vintage style / reverse wind style basses. I had it on my Fender Roadworn Precision which was sold some time ago so it was removed and put away. Here’s the bump from Hipshot. https://hipshotproducts.com/products/bt3-bass-xtender Price includes UK postage, comes with installation instructions and in original packaging, and includes a ferrule and screws. Cheers!
  3. So tempting, but have no need for it. GLWTS.
  4. Yeah I wish more companies got onto it. I tried doing it myself with sparkle rattle cans, and then tried again with glitter and clear coat, but both times were a bit of a disaster!
  5. It is quite a wonderful album and mixed by Errol Thompson, I remember reading about it a long time back and it was mentioned that he was experimenting with various sounds to add into the recordings, it’s not until you listen closely you can hear a doorbell at the end of the track chapter 3, there’s also ringing telephones and water sounds, and yes the basslines are superb, from memory another album I’ve still got which I bought from around the time is Fat Man Ridim Section – Bald Head Justice which is Robbie again and Errol Thompson, similar bass tone I think , I actually bought the album not knowing much about it at the time and was totally blown away with the basslines, I was just starting out on bass and learning them on the old cassette tape 😁, another album I must dig out one day
  6. If it was Lincoln or Newark, I'd bring a pile of gear along. I'm half way between Nottingham and Derby.
  7. Sounds awesome as ever. I’m loving my Anagram, so much better than the QC, just need a bit of time with all the other pedals to see if it will replace absolutely everything.
  8. For a dolls-house? Judging by the flannel just in-shot that looks about as big as the wood block
  9. Hi All, Genuine rare US-made Musicman Sub for sale. 4 string, passive. Comes with a soft gig bag with assorted spare strings and a strap. Selling because I no longer use it. Good bits: Good usable condition Fantastic tone Recent strings Intonation good It does NOT have the original plastic pickguard with the metallic pattern on it - I hated this and replaced it with a far nicer looking item. There is a chip on the main body near the volume pots as you can see in the photos. There are a few marks on the back of the neck too. Neither of these have any impact on the feel and sound of the instrument - it's a gorgeous piece of kit and comes from a relatively small run of 'Sport Utility Basses' (hence SUB) apparently Musicman lost money on these and didn't make them for long. Would prefer to meet up rather than post 'cos it's heavy! Looking for £650 ono. Reduced - £595

  10. Short scale?
  11. Has anyone owned an Ibanez LACS? As I understand, the LA Custom Shop only build artist used guitars/basses and occasionally prototypes. You cannot order a LACS nor can you buy one directly outside of certain special build runs that are incredibly infrequent. Curious to know if anyone ever owned one/played one etc?
  12. It's at times like this, that basschat needs a "wow" response icon. That is almost a nominal fee, or £25 for administration and the neck is free. "Thanks for buying a Sire. We are committed to providing you with ongoing support for your instrument."
  13. Basschat first got interested in these over 10 years ago - I blame @Clarky It was that thread that led to me ordering a matching Crazy 88 from Guy Trigg (who seems to be no longer a Member here): https://www.facebook.com/trickyaudio/?locale=en_GB He was/is building them under licence from Greenboy in the USA: https://www.greenboy.us/ https://www.greenboy.us/cabs/view.php?model=Crazy88 Just to confirm those dimensions in metric: H 57cm x W 27cm x D 35cm, Weight 12.5Kg The cab is 4 Ohms.
  14. This cab isn't just for DB but it's enough of a boutique DB item that it's worth posting the link to the sale thread here too.
  15. Gregor form BassTheWorld is a big fan!
  16. Happy Jack's Great Exotic Sale continues with this quite remarkable pedal. How to describe what it does? Best read this: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/audio-sprockets-tonedexter That review is for the original ToneDexter which is what I am selling. Original packaging, power supply & manual, as you can see. By its very nature, this isn't a pedal that gets chucked into gig bags and knocked about at gigs, so this is in pristine condition. If there's a mark on it, then I can't find it. Smaller than you'd think, too. You can't buy these new any more, but the V2 replacement is this one: https://www.andertons.co.uk/audio-sprockets-tonedexter-2-acoustic-guitar-preamp/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20736322037&gbraid=0AAAAADujoUrZPlhasp7Z7MDPcIjO7Cnyt&gclid=Cj0KCQjwh5vFBhCyARIsAHBx2wzoSIwW07QUzI0kxlO4PRfLLAuySRBXjVY8ZKQoc6XWvrMM3LVfcRcaArDKEALw_wcB I used this a lot when I was gigging a Zeller ply bass and a Kolstein Busetto, both of those with utterly gorgeous tone, alongside my custom-built Ali-Kat aluminium bass ... which looks astonishing but can't even begin to compete on tone. These days, I no longer actually own a traditional DB of any sort () so the ToneDexter is getting very little use.
  17. Oscar Schmidt by Washburn Guitars. https://www.oscarschmidt.com/instrument-type/autoharps/ 😎
  18. I should also probably have mentioned that it comes with the GB Shuttle 4-button footswitch. And the soft cover.
  19. That's a great sound!
  20. I don’t know about you, but I’m enjoying the descriptions as much as the fascinating collection…
  21. I should probably have mentioned that it comes with the original Owner's Manual.
  22. Very little used since Covid, time to move it on. Comes with all the little bits of cabling etc. Condition is as near pristine as you're likely to find. Full specs are here: https://philjonesbass.net/cms/product-ha-1/

  23. My eye (yes, I have two. Don't worry...) was caught by the cool looking lever at the top of the bridge - does this amazingly manly bass have a lever that deploys the string mutes? Bet MusicMan wish they'd thought of that before adding those fiddly tiny metal round screws under the bridges of Classic Stingrays. Seriously impressed by the intonation calibration markings on the bridge as well. If Bang & Olufsen made basses, they would make basses like this.
  24. I see guitarists playing Blackstar amps almost as often as I see bass players using Mark Bass.
