  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks. I really can’t stand the BBOT even though I know it works ok. Just looks so naff.
  3. I think I’m going to give the FI v4 a go listening to those - there’s some excellent sounds there, at least I can get hold of one of these 😁 I like the Chaka Khan ones on the playlist especially. Tbf I have heard of multiple people that the tracking on the v4 is outstanding
  4. Been there, it’s infuriating isn’t it?
  5. Don't know who wrote this, but it must be another amp or maybe the mini one or a truly bad instrument plugged in and maybe a bad cabinet too... The other half of the bass duet was using a GR Bass One 350 head coupled to a GR Bass 112H and Wi was using a GR Bass Combo 800, tone wise they were very similar and both transparent when flat, but for some it could mean dull if the bass plugged is dull, lacking some brilliance and depth as it's the down side of a transparent amp... I've owned a few GR Bass heads, cabs and combos over the years and they are not what the description says.
  6. Yep, 2ch/1RU and only secondhand, but they made heaps of them and I've owned many and never had one fail. Great units, I still have a couple of the C models in my rack.
  7. I asked a question and slagged no one. Feel free to keep you asinine comments to yourself in future, and to imagine how blunt my reply to you would actually be IRL.
  8. @Hellzero saw this user review for the One 350 on Thomann - would you agree with any of this? ”The most important criterion, the sound, and unfortunately it's not very spectacular, I primarily lacked transparency/presence across all frequency bands, somehow the overall sound just completely lacks brilliance and depth, the whole thing was somehow very dull, that's how it was.”
  9. Fired by WhatsApp. I discovered that when I saw I was deleted from the band's WhatsApp group. The Band leader didn't bother to tell me, but I wasn't surprised as he is a narcissistic a*hole and that's putting it mildly. I have to admit to a certain amount of relief that I didn't have to deal with him anymore!
  10. Used, in great condition except the zip has a tendency to do what Pedaltrain gigbag zips have a tendency to do. Velcro already on, plus a tiny bit underneath where I had a power isolator. Price is posted to mainland UK. Please forgive the upside down pics 😆

  11. Crumbs thats super pretty
  12. They weren’t compared to the SVT we compared it against but that’s not a fair fight. 😂😂
  13. @Hellzero thanks! I’d also looked at the GR One manual but couldn’t find that bit, just the reference to the studio mode for the higher models. Being able to turn the fan off is certainly promising.
  14. That's a fine looking thing, even by ACG standards.
  15. To my knowledge I have never played in a band with anyone holding far right, racist or homophobic views. Such views are abhorrent, but if they keep their opinions to themselves I don't see why I shouldn't be in a band with them. The situation would change, and I would be happy to have strong words, if they were openly expressing such nastiness.
  16. And I did wonder if the Lull M4V is the Warmoth smaller Jazz body, but couldn’t be arsed to look and compare. Anyways, we met Mike and he was cool, and his basses feel amazing, so just saying.
  17. well, just to wander further off the point (whatever it was), have a different take on the fretted/fretless combo bass. I've always admired the sensitivity and taste of cronos' fretless playing If memory serves, Lee Sklar had mandolin frets fitted to one of his basses so he could emulate fretless style sounds
  18. Hi Chris, Seems I don’t automatically get a notification when someone replies! I’ve PM’d you the number. Terry
  19. Impending retirement means that I need to de-clutter, beginning with some of my beloved basses. A Beautiful bass bought from here in 24, with a great sound, which I am just not using much. It is the real deal with gorgeous looks and construction in my honest opinion. Someone out there will love it. It is also loud enough to practice with without an amp IMHO! Happy to post as it comes with a generic hard case that fits archtop basses "The Gretsch G5442BDC Electromatic Hollow Body Short Scale bass guitar has a comfortably short scale at 30.25", and is armed with two powerful "Black Top" Filter'Tron™ bass pickups, giving it an electrifying deep-end voice and identity. The double-cutaway hollow and bound body offers full bass tone and balance, and is finished in Transparent Red." Note: I have been asked about neck dive, just in case you are worried about that this is my answer. "I can't say that it has bothered me,. Being an true hollow body/archtop It is very light and hangs horizontally, but it feels normal to rest my right arm on the body, which pushes the neck upwards to a comfortable, natural playing position. It also feels good sitting down. I imagine that the longer scale Gretsch hollows may have serious neck dive". G5442BDC Spec sheet.pdf

  20. Yeah, I’m about to retire (from work, not playing bass!) and thinking of buying it. 🤔😂
  21. Just picked this up, thanks I havent really pushed it to be honest but will give that a try
  22. Funny you say that; when I was looking at Warmoth I noticed their P Bass easy access neck heals looked liked a Lull, plus the 21 fret ramp is the same, and they are pretty close geographically, so wondered if they did parts for him… 🤔 I’ve had 4 Lull basses, 1 was exceptional but the other 3 just very good, which is a concern now they are £3-4K
