  1. Past hour
  2. Sorry to be "that guy" but this is a 'Sterling By Musicman Stingray' and not a 'Musicman Sterling' which is a completely different bass model.
  3. I sent you a DM about this.....
  4. "Accidental" - the best kind.
  5. I'm in four bands. 1) Singer in two (was three until a month ago). Guitarists and drummer all in two bands. 2) Drummer in 2 bands Guitarist in 3 bands plus extras. 3) Drummer in 2 bands and a duo (as guitarist). Guitarist in at least four bands plus session work. 4) I think I'm the only one in more than one band. I'd say it's the rule rather than the exception, most of the bands I know have members in multiple bands.
  6. Chinese factories selling on eBay. . . . what you see is not always what you get. There was an article about people buying clothes from Chinese companies and a totally different design turned up. Good luck returning the product and getting a refund!! You'll find the postage back to China prohibitive.
  7. Sterling Sterling SB14 Passive in Natural Nice and light, really nice wood grain pattern front and back and a lovely warm tone. Strung with flats, which I guess are original. I can’t find any marks or signs of ware. Protective coating still on the pickguard and neck plate. Great looking instrument, fast neck, passive (so no battery fails) the only two controls you need; volume & tone and a great sound, but I’m not playing it, so it needs to go to someone who will. Based in Devon not far from Plymouth. I also have a guitar box in my garage if you’d prefer to set up a courier.
  8. Mine too, well thought out bass lines that really add to the songs and are really interesting to play.
  9. Fit like loon, aye there's a few of us aboot, up here so yer not on yer own.🙂
  10. Pickup has a vintage voice with about 1/3 extra volume (passive), which is helpful for muted genres like Reggae or Oakland Funk and Hard Rock etc and then just roll back for normal.
  11. Fab pedal! Good demo: If I had money I'd be buying this!
  12. Ok guys, hayfever is addling my mind , first £195 will get this posted 😱
  13. Make sure you're playing songs everyone wants to play, then get gigs. As I say, if everyone is in multiple bands then they'll be unable to do some of the gigs. That's when you call on the deps. The secret is to get your gigs in the diary first. The bands I play in usually don't rehearse. We turn up knowing the parts and songs. I did spend some time in a band which regularly rehearsed. Annoyingly the problems from one week could still be around the next week. . . . and the week after! They were good guys but too many rehearsals and not enough gigs killed it for me.
  14. These are great units, I've been using one with IEMs for about a year now and have not been disappointed with it. A no brainer at this price! GLWTS
  15. Aye aye, min! Also, what @Acebassmusic said.

  17. I think changing from the SD to the GZR would be a bit of a sideways move, and not the best use of money in terms of upgrading the overall bass playing experience. The GZR is a superb pickup, but the SD is just as good as the EMG, albeit with a slightly different flavour. My own personal experience has been that changing pickups can be a big upgrade if you have been using a pickup the is genuinely defective or obviously deficient in some way, but swapping one perfectly good high-end pickup for another because of notional sonic differences that you have read about is usually a disappointing waste of money. If someone is getting a custom Fodera I can understand exploring the nuances of choosing the exact right pickup, butI really don't think a Squire Classic Vibe bass warrants spending that amount of money to explore the nuances between two high quality replacement pickups. If you've got a Seymour Duncan in there that's already a big upgrade. My advice would be experiment with strings and EQ and try and appreciate the character of the sound as it is.
  18. I ran Warwick/Trace for a long time. Streamers and an FNA jazzman, with an AH400SMX, two 4x10s and a bright box, usually with a back up head sat on top too. Was a big old stack to lug around, but thankfully back then I had a crew and truck doing the work for me much of the time. These days I play a glued together Ibanez, don’t even use an amp and the roadies are a distant memory. How life has changed!
  19. Very high quality Hall reverb with that lovely infinite reverb effect. Boxed and complete with sticker, guide, unused stick on rubber feet. I’ve rested it and then put it away as it doesn’t have a battery option and I no longer use a powered pedalboard. Like new. Price includes UK postage.
  20. Another thought, do these ‘less than fully committed’ members have any say in the set list? Maybe letting them choose a song they particularly like, within the genre, would make them keener? In my bands we call it ‘throwing them a bone to chew on’. 😀🐕🦴
  21. And I think this is a bit of a cheat as a cover, but it's a marvellous version
  22. Cheers Paul, i want to learn slap and my understanding is that lower action is better for slap bass. I'm certainly not expecting the action of a Fender Strat but my lack of playing experience means I don’t have a good feel for what is the correct action. when I measure the relief it seems ok (about 0.25mm) so I’m loathe to adjust the truss road - I guess some gradual adjustment of the saddle might help.
  23. Have we had this one yet?
  24. Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 These are great amps well known for their tonal versatility and power to weight ratio. It is in excellent working condition with a few minor scratches and blemishes to the casing. Pickup preferred so you can try it through my cab but I’m happy to post at buyer’s expense in the UK only. I’m not looking for trades. It comes with mains lead and a gig-bag the rubber feet are missing from the amp and I suspect they were taken off so it would fit neatly in the bag.
