  1. Past hour
  2. If it helps Andertons do bass sized boxes for £11 I think
  3. For sale, a full flight case, fitted for a Gibson Ripper or Grabber in good condition. I've sold pretty much all my long-scale basses so I'm advertising quite a few bags and cases. The case was a custom build by Bird Brothers in the North of England in the early '80s - at the time, the company was one of the UK's leading suppliers of high-quality bespoke flight cases. The foam was replaced more recently by BSH cases in Manchester - an excellent job in very high density foam. The case has some marks from use, but is structurally entirely sound and the interior is pretty much perfect. Collection in East Manchester. It may be possible to ship at the buyer's risk and cost, though I'd need to find a box which might take some time. It's also worth noting that the case is fairly heavy (it's a full, touring-spec aluminium clad flight case!) - I'd estimate around 11-12kg. No trades or offers thanks and any questions, please just ask.
  4. Can't you just call your authorities by phone and ask for help? In Germany, it wouldn't be a biggie for them.
  5. Maybe it should be an industry standard?
  6. I would never have thought to have done that but fair play. Just as well the vast majority of basses I would actually buy have clip out compartments which I would prefer anyway. No chance of losing a battery door that way.
  7. Any thanks to everyone who has replied to this. A few months back I couldn't find an Ultimate stand but now I can. But you have given me food for thought with the alternatives. What a great place this is.
  8. First bass was a Peavey millennium bxp 5 string, totally inappropriate for a learner but I have fond rose tinted memories. Through my Laney RB9 with a fan that sounded like a Chinook taking off. Go to bass is a Chinese bitsa that has been repainted in every colour, currently sporting beige floral nursing home wallpaper. It weighs absolutely nothing and sounds superb with emg jx pickups "Your bass" probably same as above or it's pink Hawaiian painted sibling
  9. That's good to hear, Jon ... I'll message you. Cheers Nik
  10. For sale, a Mono Vertigo bass bag in excellent, almost new condition. The bag has been used only to store a bass. I've sold pretty much all my long-scale basses so no longer have need for the Vertigo (I'm advertising quite a few bags and cases). Collection in East Manchester, though it may be possible to ship (without a box - I don't have one) - at the buyer's risk and cost. These are very impressive bags and seem to retail between around £220 to £250 in the UK. No trades or offers thanks and any questions, please just ask.
  11. This is a total ball ache, I need to complete this form now. I'm probably going to pull out of the deal, I don't feel confident with the paperwork.
  12. Don't like em And i don't think they should line up... would half the point of single saddles be to place them to follow the string run, Same as to the pegs past the nut.
  13. If Fender would release a Squier strap in the same designs, I would swap the straps on my Squiers.
  14. A few from Birmingham. The 3rd pic from inside the original Musical Exchanges on Broad St. The last one is Yardleys, prior to Exchanges moving there. There's an equal amount of great shops from Birmingham in the '80s I can't find pics for alas.
  15. I took off the battery cover and screwed the four screws int the body recess until flush. Then I glued four neodymium magnets into the sfrew holes in the cover. Simples!
  16. Settling with my Anagram and found a NAM profile(Tech21 Red Ripper) that can do something similar so this one must go. Updating price to £380 only this week as of Aug 7 2025. Bought from the US including postage and customs. Paid more than my selling price. Only thing missing is the pink paper packaging wrap, won’t affect the tone though 😂 Any questions, feel free to message me. Chad
  17. Possibly, but I suspect that if you told any engineering minded person that you wanted a nut with adjustable string height then 80% would come up with either the two screw tilting nut idea, or the 4/5/6 screw individual string adjustment idea. The rest would probably suggest shims.
  18. Today
  19. McCormacks and CC Music in Glasgow. Bought a laney 4x10 amp & cab from the former and they delivered it in their branded van. Bought the a JV precision and later a JV jazz from CC music in early 80s
  20. Apparently, the Modulus made early necks were a myth (rrp of a modulus neck was almost as much as the rrp of the G Bass), and they are not actually carbon necks as marketed, they have a maple core with a carbon wrap. Still cracking basses for the money of course, but really interesting marketing choice from Peavey; the manual literally says it's a Carbon Graphite neck with no mention of it being mostly wood. Crazy but there you go. Still want it!
  21. Iconic store in the Teesside area. and also an early workplace of the legendary Jim Cairnes.
  22. Fabulous, & as usual in a different time zone 😭😆
  23. Yeah I don't think mine was flat just sounded nice/ok to me . I'll try your settings....it's good to fiddle around
