I have been listening most of every day to help me get through....I'm hoping Iron Maiden will make too 20 at least. I missed few hours , has Hallowed be thy name been played yet? -
Yes, I wouldn't be aware of what Ashley was doing in detail from late 84 onwards. I seem to remember he wanted an eq with some upper mid punch for live slap bass projection which is why I did those but I'm not sure how successful they were, a bit esoteric. I have visited Tangshan, on two occasions plus the surrounding areas, some of her relatives are in Tangshan, others in Zunhua, Beijing and Shijiazhuang and her elderly parents live in a small country village outside Zunhua called Yuyingfancun. We laid flowers at the Tangshan earthquake memorial site which has an avenue of large stone tablets with inscriptions of the names of those who perished. We hope to go again next summer. My wife remembers the earthquake. At the time she was with her grandmother and parents near Zunhua. She was a young girl then and remembers her grandmother grabbing her from bed and running outside the house thinking a war had started or something. The earthquake was so powerful it was felt fairly strongly in that area too which is @ 90 minutes drive north of Tangshan.

Just to add, I also have two barefaced super midgets which I tend to use the most....volume considering the small size is really good although the tweeters are fairly poor in my opinion.

Oops! I’ve plainly touched a nerve there. I merely mentioned them as a newer rock band (metal or otherwise) who are post ‘60s/‘70s who made an appearance, against the poll’s general grain. FWIW I don’t mind them and wouldn’t try to pigeonhole them stylistically, their version of Bad Company or Black on Blue certainly isn’t metal in my book. -

Have Velvet Revolver, Airbourne, or Black Stone Cherry made an entrance yet? -
that's interesting because I sent the M-50X's back because they didn't have a the pronounced bass of the WS1100's, which from my perspective are far and away the best headphones I've ever used, shame they've stopped making them

Hi all, I’ve been playing bass for many years across a range of settings, mostly on electric, and have followed Basschat for quite some time. I’ve picked up plenty of useful insight here over the years, so it seemed only right to finally join in. Happy to contribute where I can and always interested in hearing how others approach things

Folks, I've started a new topic for the 2026 Bash. Let's continue discussions over there.

It would be better if it was in a metallic version of lavender mist, and a mustang bass. -
Ive got the Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X and Audio Technica's ATH M-50X, the AT's have a lot more low end and much more suitable le for making music sound good. The 700X is quiet enimic tuning compared to those IME. Each has its good points. I do tend to use the 700 Pro X a lot more for practicing at home as I can increase the low end without it blooming too much.

I had a 310 a few years back from this very parish. Sea foam green. Really nice bass and one that got away.

Can't agree more (and people know @Dan Dare and me almost often disagree), you can get a way better, on all aspects, modern turntable at this price tag, think Clearaudio Concept MM or Pro-Ject X2B to name the two "newcomers" to the party.

Go tohttps://g-gotoh.com/productList/res-o-lite-series/?lang=en Check the shape and sizes of the GB 640 and GB 528 with your bass, my gut says you need the 640s, but my MIJ Aerodyne really needed the 528. From memory the main difference, apart from the baseplate shape, is the headstock hole diameter. Mine has a painted headstock so I was nervous drilling i out.

Oh, in case you were wondering what's under there, it's a Warman Drivetrain. I think I forgot to mention it. Keeping it quad core! £31! Insanity.

Five finger death punch are metal for people who don't like metal. Just a bunch of scumbag riffs that go nowhere. -

THis is yesterdays split of decades and here's todays Every decade has seen a decrease in % apart from the 1970's and 1990's staying the same. So as we move closer to the top 70 or so, its the 1970's that are starting to dominate as evidenced by Black Sabbath starting to catch up with Queen. I never thought of that, that's a good use of the analysis. This is it so far And Massive Attack has been updated to 2016 rather than 2026 Personally I know very few of these bands so will look into them. Rob
