  2. Nowadays the bass market is flooded with active Jazz-style basses. Back in the mid-1990's when the T-Bass came out that certainly wasn't the case here in the UK. An boutique Jazz Bass with a preamp in it was quite a novelty and highly desirable for British bass players who didn't have easy access to brands like Sadowsky who had popularised that style of bass. The T-Bass was aimed at that niche, but in retrospect maybe it was just a touch too innovative to have a wide enough appeal to most bass players. I think the angled tuners probably put more people off than they won over.
  3. I know. I'm not keen on large venues either, but it's either see them there or not at all, and the whole family want to go
  4. And you do a sterling job of it Mike. Best thing you ever did. On that day you doubled your IQ. 😂 Dave

  6. Hello Dean. Do you still have the AW1600 for sale? Cheers Daz 077708964414
  7. Yep, It's the hi-level consistency that we're working towards in my band right now.
  8. Of course, yes. After all, nothing else will do. The Duracell Bunny always knows best. 🤣
  9. Simple. The Status Stealth. It's a Status. 'Nuff said
  10. That's a wonderful studio album to listen to as well! The Rite of Strings It must have been amazing live!
  11. Tone X One Bass edition - £160 posted brand new condition except the registration card is a bit creased and slightly torn which prevents me sending it back. These are supposed to come with Tone X CS but after a bit of complaining I’ve got a code to get Tone X SE which I’ll include aswell. Unbelievably well thought out bit of kit with some great amp sims and pedal captures, far superior to the HX stuff… just realised amp sims aren’t for me. the bass edition comes with the bass pack which is £99 bought separately and some some fantastic models - including a ridiculously good GK and a phenomenal SVT aswell… any questions ask away!
  12. Free - Trouble On Double Time
  13. My Imaginary Guy — Deanie Parker & The Valadors
  14. Wow! Not usually a fan of LEDs but in this case, I'll make an exception 😀 Looks amazing!!
  15. Now that's a lovely present! Any bass is a journey of a lifetime. I see you have many songbooks made out of glass, the start is most likely pretty easy.
  16. No worries Dave. That moment as a failed guitarist set me off on my stellar career as an average bass player.
  17. Jesus Thinks You’re A Jerk - Kinky Friedman
  18. Cheers. I had a student trying to work from the Josquin book, so I have a good insight into how very much more difficult even the first (simplest) suite is in EADG tuning. I’m not saying it can’t be done, or doesn’t sound good, just that it is far harder than on any other tuning I know. I encourage everyone to explore Bach’s music on their instrument, irrespective of the tuning. It’s still good for the soul!
  19. Apologies for the laugh emoji but have to admit to finding your story very funny Mike. 😂 Dave
  20. Your Crossroads version works for me. I've always mostly used picks in my bands. Goes back to when my short six-string guitar phase was abruptly and brutally terminated in my high-school class of '61. Conversation with my buddies Jim and Steve went like this: STEVE (already a proficient drummer in a Shadows band with his older brother) - The Shadows stuff is shit. Let's start our own band. ALL: Yeah, great idea! STEVE AND JIM: You're a great singer but a crap guitarist. You'll have to get a bass! ME: OK, I'll ask my mum and dad. First step was selling my six-string Hofner (Senator?) acoustic guitar. For a while all I had left was my picks.
  21. Jesus Loves You, But I Don't - The Almighty
  22. I wonder if there’s a way of just cleaning and stabilising the finish as-is?
  23. @TKenrick, like your approach. Want to add a small thing here: I like to play the song changes. When the song ends, I like to feel the change from tempo and scale to the next one.
  24. Liquid Jesus - Crippling Alcoholism Double point surely?
  25. Pass The Courvoisier - Busta Rhymes
  26. 1. Xvive A58 wireless system (will certainly arrive) 2. Ibanez EHB 1000S (not produced anymore, and not in my budget right now for those which are still on the market. I'll have to be patient and snipe some used one.) 3. Well.. nothing more.
